While deindustrialization is a universal phenomenon that most countries are destined to experience at a certain stage of economic development, it materialized in Latin America too soon. Most ...countries in the region reached peak levels of industrialization that were lower than those experienced by early industrializers and these peak levels were reached at lower levels of economic development. We present empirical evidence based on a panel dataset of 191 countries for the 1990-2018 period to suggest that premature deindustrialization witnessed in most parts of the region is a consequence of the interaction of distinct deindustrialization forces. It is a combined product of the “conventional” factors such as demographic, income and time trends and the “less conventional” ones such as the Dutch Disease, foreign direct investment inflows and deepening trade relations with China. Password with a combination of 4-digit numbers has been widely adopted for various authentication systems (such as credit card authentication, digital door lock systems and so on). However, this ...system could not be safe because the 4-digit password can easily be stolen by predicting it from the fingermarks on the keypad or display screen. Furthermore, due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, contactless method has been preferred over contact method in authentication. This paper suggests a new password input method based on eyeblink pattern analysis in video sequence. In the proposed method, when someone stands in front of a camera, the sequence of eyeblink motions is captured (according to counting signal from 0 to 9 or 9 to 0), analyzed and encoded, producing the desired 4-digit decimal numbers. One does not need to touch something like keypad or perform an exaggerated action, which can become a very important clue for intruders to predict the password. 네자리 디지털 숫자를 입력하는 패스워드 방식이 신용카드 승인용 비밀번호, 디지털 도어락 개폐 비밀번호 등으로 널리 활용되고 있다. 하지만 이 패스워드 방식에서는 네자리의 숫자가 손가락 지문이나 버튼의 마모 등으로 쉽게 추측될 수 있어서 보안 상 안전하지 않다. 또한 장기화되는 코로나19 팬데믹으로 인해 인증에서 접촉 방식보다는 비접촉 방식이 점점 더 선호되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 카메라로 촬영된 얼굴의 눈깜빡임 패턴 분석에 기반한 패스워드 생성 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 0부터 9까지(또는 9부터 0까지) 카운팅 되는 신호에 맞춰 행해진 일련의 눈깜빡임 동작을 분석하고 코드화하여 십진수 네자리를 생성한다. 제안 방법은 패스워드 노출 위험이 유발되는 키패드 입력이나 과장된 행동을 필요로 하지 않는다는 장점이 있다.
Researches of face recognition on masked faces have been increasingly important due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To realize a stable and practical recognition performance, large amount of facial image ...data should be acquired for the purpose of training. However, it is difficult for the researchers to obtain masked face images for each human subject. This paper proposes a novel method to synthesize a face image and a virtual mask pattern. In this method, a pair of masked face image and unmasked face image, that are from a single human subject, is fed into a convolutional autoencoder as training data. This allows learning the geometric relationship between face and mask. In the inference step, for a unseen face image, the learned convolutional autoencoder generates a synthetic face image with a mask pattern. The proposed method is able to rapidly generate realistic masked face images. Also, it could be practical when compared to methods which rely on facial feature point detection. 코로나19 팬데믹으로 인해 마스크 착용이 일상화되면서 마스크 착용 얼굴을 식별하는 얼굴인식 연구에 대한 중요도가 높아지고 있다. 안정된 얼굴인식 성능을 위해서는 인식 대상에 대한 풍부한 학습용 이미지 확보가 필요하지만 인물 별로 마스크 착용 얼굴 이미지를 다량 확보하는 것은 쉽지 않다. 본 논문에서는 마스크 미착용 얼굴 이미지에 가상의 마스크 패턴을 합성하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 동일 인물에 대해 마스크 미착용 얼굴 이미지와 마스크 착용 얼굴 이미지를 쌍으로 컨볼루션 오토인코더에 입력하여 얼굴과 마스크의 기하학적 관계를 학습한다. 학습이 완료된 컨볼루션 오토인코더는 학습에 사용되지 않은 새로운 마스크 미착용 얼굴 이미지에 가상의 마스크 패턴을 자연스러운 형태로 합성해준다. 제안 방법은 고속으로 대량의 마스크 착용 얼굴 이미지를 생성할 수 있으며, 얼굴 특징점 추출에 기반하는 마스크 합성 방법에 비해 실용적이다.
Recently, metaverse is becoming increasingly important in coding education. One of the most important elements in metaverse is interaction in 3D virtual space. However, most existing education ...methods still utilize metaverse for unidirectional education without making use of interaction. This paper proposes a new method of using metaverse for bidirectional coding education. In the metaverse virtual space, a professor and students are able to share their PC screens for monitoring purposes. Also, once a student sends a request to the professor, the professor can immediately provide proper feedback (such as source codes correction) through access control. This metaverse virtual space is able to include more than two professors that allows for a many-to-many coding education. This paper presents a way of constructing the metaverse environment and teaching scenario, followed by the descriptions of the advantages and requirements for the proposed method. 비대면 코딩 교육에서 시공간 제약에 의한 불편함을 줄이고 교육의 효과를 높이기 위해 메타버스(metaverse)라는 새로운 도구에 대한 기대치가 높아지고 있다. 메타버스의 핵심요소 중 하나는 3차원 가상공간에서의 상호작용이다. 하지만 대부분의 기존 메타버스 기반 교육에서는 상호작용이 이루어지지 않고 단방향 교육에 메타버스가 활용되는 경우가 많아 양방향 코딩 교육에는 적합하지 않다. 본 논문에서는 교수자-학생 간 상호작용이 가능한 양방향 코딩 교육을 위해 새로운 메타버스 활용 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법에서는 교수자 및 학생들의 코딩 화면을 3차원 가상공간에 공유하고 확인할 수 있으며, 학생의 요청이 있을 때마다 교수자가 원격제어를 통해 직접 학생의 소스코드를 교정해주는 등의 피드백을 제공할 수 있다. 이러한 메타버스 가상공간에서는 교수자가 2명 이상인 다대다 교육이 가능하다는 장점이 있다. 제안하는 메타버스 활용 방안에 대해 메타버스 환경 구성과 교육 안을 도출하고, 장점 및 전제조건에 대해 요약하였다.
