The production of two high-pT jets in the interactions of quasi-real photons in e+e− collisions at \(\sqrt{s_{ee}}\) from 189 GeV to 209 GeV is studied with data corresponding to an integrated e+e− ...luminosity of 550 pb−1. The jets reconstructed by the k⊥-cluster algorithm are defined within the pseudo-rapidity range −1<η<1 and with jet transverse momentum, pT, above 3 GeV/c. The differential di-jet cross-section is measured as a function of the mean transverse momentum \(\overline{p_{T}}\) of the jets and is compared to perturbative QCD calculations.
DELPHI results are presented on the inclusive production of two (K Kbar pi)^0 states in the mass region 1.2-1.6 GeV/c^2 in hadronic Z decays at LEP I. The measured masses (widths) are 1274+-6 MeV/c^2 ...(29+-12 MeV/c^2) and 1426+-6 MeV/c^2 (51+-14 MeV/c^2) respectively. A partial-wave analysis of the (K Kbar pi)^0 system shows that the first peak is consistent with the I^G(J^PC) = 0^+(1^++)/(O^-+) a_0(980)pi and the second with the I^G(J^PC) = 0^+(1^++) K*(892)Kbar + c.c assignments. The total hadronic production rates per hadronic Z decay are (0.165 +- 0.051) and (0.056 + 0.012) respectively. These measurements are consistent with the two states being the f_1(1285) and f_1(1420) mesons.
There is a growing interest in high dynamic range imaging for cinema projection applications. It has been reported that the observable cinema contrast ratio is determined not only by the native ...projector contrast but even more by various parameters such as the projection lens, port window, screen, theater setting, and audiences. We have derived a mathematical model to characterize the influence of these parameters and to assess their relative importance as a function of the projected image content. Furthermore, a fast measurement method was developed to determine the various parameters across different theaters, providing a good match with our model.
