The theoretical analysis of production, lifetime, and decays of doubly heavy baryons is presented. The lifetime of Ξ++cc baryons recently measured by the LHCb Collaboration is used to estimate the ...lifetimes of other doubly heavy baryons. The production and the possibility of observation of Ξbc baryons at the LHC are discussed.
The cross sections of J/ψ ηc and J/ψ J/ψ production in e+ e− annihilation are calculated at a one-loop accuracy near Z -boson pole and at higher energies as well. Both intermediate bosons, γ and Z ..., are included. It is found that at Z mass, the next-to-leading contribution increases the production cross sections by a factor of 3.5.
finite size of a doubly heavy diquark yields a positive correction to baryon masses calculated in the local-diquark approximation. Upon evaluating this correction for the ground states of doubly ...charmed baryons, it became possible to obtain new predictions of importance for current searches of these baryons in LHCb experiments:

Carnosine (b-alanyl-
l
-histidine) is an endogenous dipeptide widely distributed in excitable tissues, such as muscle and neural tissues—though in minor concentrations in the latter. Multiple ...benefits have been attributed to carnosine: direct and indirect antioxidant effect, antiglycating, metal-chelating, chaperone and pH-buffering activity. Thus, carnosine turns out to be a multipotent protector against oxidative damage. However, the role of carnosine in the brain remains unclear. The key aspects concerning carnosine in the brain reviewed are as follows: its concentration and bioavailability, mechanisms of action in neuronal and glial cells, beneficial effects in human studies. Recent literature data and the results of our own research are summarized here. This review covers studies of carnosine effects on both in vitro and in vivo models of cerebral damage, such as neurodegenerative disorders and ischemic injuries and the data on its physiological actions on neuronal signaling and cerebral functions. Besides its antioxidant and homeostatic properties, new potential roles of carnosine in the brain are discussed.
New upper limits on the intrinsic-charm contribution to the proton are obtained on the basis of experimental data on the existence of pentaquarks involving a hidden charm. Possible distributions of ...heavy quarks within the proton are analyzed.
The yields of excited states of doubly heavy baryons are estimated on the basis of the diquark-production model under the kinematic conditions of the LHC experiments. Prospects of their observations ...are discussed.
In the focus of our research is the existing theory of the de Haas–van Alphen effect. We show that the Lifshitz–Kosevich formula represents, up to a factor, the amplitude of Fraunhofer diffraction by ...a circular aperture with radius dependent on the extremal value of the cross-sectional area of Fermi surface.
