Apart from school education, students’ value orientation and behavior is also affected by informal and non-formal education. Therefore, if we examine the effects of informal and non-formal education ...on the development of pro-environmental interests of students for instance, then we must include new media as learning spaces and spaces for demonstration of environmental action. In this sense social networks become indispensable as virtual spaces for demonstration of environmental interests, which can contribute to pro-environmental activities, or foresight patterns of pro-environmental behavior. The aim of this research, whose results are presented and analyzed, refers to the comparison of indicators of environmental activities of students in Split related to their involvement in the activities of green NGOs, procurement of literature on environmental issues and on demonstrating interest in environmental issues on social networks, including Facebook. This research was conducted by survey method on a representative sample of college students from six faculties at University of Split (N = 531), using a questionnaire composed and focused on their self-reported behavior. Although the number of students who are active in NGOs is limited, and very few of them purchase books pertinent to environmental issues, a much larger number of them register and demonstrate an interest in environmental issues through social networks sites. In this sense, and based on the results of this study, the importance of social aspects of learning supported by new technology is emphasized, which indicates the significance of social networks as a new channel for communication and education.

In this work we focused on social ecofeminism and its critique of domination that polemized with basic views of Murray Bookchin's feminist and social ecology theory. The vision of the liberation of ...women, social equality and social justice are closely connected with the affirmation of degraded and inferior space of inhuman nature. The ecofeminist ethics is promoted here, based on partnership in its nature, liberated from the dualism of Western intellectual thought and gender bias on woman and nature. The social ecofeminism puts the thesis on the connection between woman and nature in the context of socially constructed patriarchal society, oppression and domination over woman, reinforcing the feminist critique of the patriarchal society, social dominations and hierarchies. It also accepts the basic principle of social ecology according to which domination naturally comes out of man's domination over man, thus being the primary goal in society. Social ecofeminism connects the domination of woman and nature with race and class domination, and supports a radical opposition to the existing social institutions founded in this domination system. The problem of human inequality and affirmation of social justice is now being regenerated through social drifts of ecofeminism that connects the vision of gender, class, race and liberation of all those who do not fit the common social normality norms with affirmation of degraded and inferior space of inhuman nature. In modern society waste & rubbish become an ecological problem whose solution is of utmost importance. Alongside technological solutions & strategies in waste management, everyday behavior of ...individuals is also crucial in reducing communal waste. In this work presented are the results of the research on the practices of domestic waste management of the population of Split. The research was conducted to determine ecological sensitivity of the citizens regarding the issue of waste. According to the results it was found that, overall, in everyday practices of domestic waste management, there is no sensitivity. The respondents mostly manage package waste, in comparison with other types of waste which are not included, in the buying off system. Considering demographic & socioeconomic characteristics, certain groups are more sensitive than others. The reduction of waste production has been found in five types of behavior exhibited by more than half of the respondents, which exceeds in some aspects the percentage of respondents who manage package waste. Readiness to act ecologically regarding the issue of waste has been exhibited by less than half of the respondents on most activities. Unlike the results of everyday practices & readiness to act, the respondents very highly value environment in Croatia, see the need for ecological education, exhibit care & importance of finding the solution for the issue of waste & give priority to ecological conservation over economic growth.
