The hospitality and tourism industry has changed significantly through the use of modern technologies, both for travellers and service providers. Digitalisation, AI capabilities, IoT, and mobile ...technologies have enabled a personalised booking, travel, and accommodation experience that provides travellers with timely and useful suggestions, information, and assistance. They have also opened up new opportunities for marketing and customer engagement, providing advanced analytics that enable the hospitality industry to reach a wider audience and deliver tailored offers and services. The objective of this study is to investigate users' attitudes towards the use of modern technologies, their willingness to disclose their private data in order to receive personalised content through digital communication, their perception of the benefits of personalised content, and the impact on their purchase intentions. The influence of gender and level of education on the responses to the survey and the possibility of forming groups in relation to the respondents’ profiles were analysed in more detail. The methods used in this study were a survey, k-means clustering, one-way ANOVA and a two-sample t-test. A questionnaire with 15 statements was used, and 217 responses were collected. User behaviour was segmented using the k-means clustering method, resulting in two homogeneous clusters indicating two main user attitudes. A two-sample t-test was conducted to analyse whether there were significant differences between the responses of the different gender groups and between the different education groups. The results showed significant differences in both groups for several questions, as shown in the Results and Discussion section.
Ugostiteljstvo i industrija turizma značajno su se promijenili korištenjem modernih tehnologija, kako za putnike tako i za pružatelje usluga. Digitalizacija, AI mogućnosti, IoT i mobilne tehnologije omogućile su personalizirano iskustvo rezervacije, putovanja i smještaja, pružajući putnicima pravovremene i korisne sugestije, informacije i pomoć. Također su se otvorile nove mogućnosti za marketing i interakciju s korisnicima, kao i naprednu analitiku koja omogućuje ugostiteljskoj industriji da dosegne širu publiku i pruži personalizirane ponude i usluge. Cilj ovog rada je istražiti stavove korisnika prema korištenju modernih tehnologija, njihovu spremnost da dijele svoje privatne podatke kako bi primili personalizirani sadržaj putem digitalne komunikacije, njihove percepcije o koristi personaliziranog sadržaja i utjecaju koji ima na namjere kupnje. Detaljnije je analiziran utjecaj spola i stupnja obrazovanja na odgovore u anketnom upitniku te mogućnost formiranja grupa u odnosu na profile ispitanika. Metode korištene u ovom istraživanju bile su anketa, k-means klaster, jednofaktorska ANOVA i t-test (dva uzorka). Korišten je prethodno kreiran upitnik s 15 ciljanih pitanja sa dobivenih ukupno 217 odgovora. Segmentiranje korisničkog ponašanja k-means klaster metodom rezultiralo je dobivanjem dva dovoljno homogena klastera indicirajući dva dominantna korisnička stava prema modernoj tehnologiji. t-test (dva uzorka) je proveden kako bi se analizirale značajne razlike između odgovora dvije grupe vezane za spol i dvije grupe različitog obrazovnih statusa. Rezultati su pokazali značajne razlike u oba slučaja za više pitanja, kako je detaljno prikazano u poglavlju rezultati i diskusija.
Purpose: The purpose of this article, in which the authors present the results of the scientific project The relationship between the quality of the main SEO ranking factors and the position of a ...hotel brands website in the SERP ZIP-FMTU003-11-2021, is to (1) identify and segment SEO variables relevant for better online visibility, (2) define a valorization model of the SEO variables, (3) valorize and define the mutual relationships of the observed SEO variables, and (4) identify and interpret the influence of the quality of the observed SEO variables on the quality of the websites of the observed sample of hotels.
Methodology: The research was conducted in two main phases. In the first phase, the available scientific and professional literature was reviewed and examined. In the second phase, the analysis model was designed, the graphical interface of the analysis model was created, the hotel sample was defined, the necessary data of the observed variables were collected, and finally, data analysis and interpretation was performed.
Results: In this article, (1) an approach to creating an analysis model and its graphical interface is described and explained, (2) a graphical interface and the analysis model are presented, (3) the algorithm for valorization of selected SEO elements is explained, (4) and finally, the results of the conducted analyses are presented.
Conclusion: The results of the conducted research show the importance and complexity of researching the topic of online visibility, which opens numerous possibilities for conducting similar research.
Suvremene informacijske i komunikacijske tehnologije pred stvaratelje i vlasnike ili posjednike dokumentarnoga i arhivskoga gradiva postavljaju složene izazove u uvjetima u kojima ih se većina još ...uvijek pretežno služi “papirnatom” dokumentacijom u poslovanju. Recentni Zakon o arhivskom gradivu i arhivima, Pravilnik o upravljanju dokumentarnim gradivom izvan arhiva te Uredba o uredskom poslovanju (za svoje obveznike) postavili su temelje digitalne transformacije sustava upravljanja dokumentarnim gradivom. U tom pogledu njihove odredbe nisu uvijek samorazumljive i jednostavne, posebice ako se uzmu u obzir uvjeti koje postavljaju drugi provedbeni propisi koji reguliraju područje uredskoga poslovanja ili specifičnu djelatnost stvaratelja i vlasnika ili posjednika gradiva. Zato o ovoj problematici treba promišljati sustavno i dugoročno, odnosno formirati strategiju prelaska institucije na digitalno spisovodstvo. U radu su analizirani reprezentativni primjeri iz uzorka svih pravila za upravljanje dokumentarnim gradivom i popisa dokumentarnoga gradiva s rokovima čuvanja stvaratelja i posjednika ili vlasnika, izrađeni prema novim propisima (i odobreni od strane Hrvatskoga državnoga arhiva), koji pokazuju kako interni normativi koji reguliraju upravljanje gradivom mogu (i moraju) postati integralni čimbenik takve strategije. Na temelju toga je razmotreno i koliko su stvaratelji i posjednici ili vlasnici uopće usvojili rješenja koja nude propisi kad je riječ o pripremi i provođenju digitalne transformacije.
Contemporary information and communications technologies pose complex challenges to public institutions and other legal persons which create, own or possess records and archives. The problems generated by these challenges are even more acute when one considers that most of the public institutions and legal persons in Croatia still predominantly rely on “paper” i.e. analogue docu-mentation in their everyday business. In that regard the recent Act on Archives and Archival Institutions (Zakon o arhivskom gradivu i arhivima), the Regula-tion on Records Management of the Public Authority Bodies (Uredba o ured-skom poslovanju) and the Ordinance on the Management of Records Outside the Archival Institutions (Pravilnik o upravljanju dokumentarnim gradivom izvan arhiva) laid out a robust foundation for the gradual digital transformation of the records management system. However, the provisions of all these regula-tions addressing these questions are not always self-explanatory and simple, espe-cially if one takes into account the conditions set by other relevant regulations which affect the area of records management of creators and owners or possessors of records and archives. That is why this issue needs to be considered in a thor-ough, systematic fashion over the long-term period. In other words, public insti-tutions and other legal persons which create, own or possess records and archives should define a strategy on how to implement a transition to digital record-keeping, which will allow for more efficient management of both analogue as well as digital records. The paper analyses a sample of internal normative acts of creators, owners or possessors of records and archives approved by Croatian State Archives since recent Act on Archives and Archival Institutions, and other relevant regulations came into force. The indicative examples of these acts (Rules for the Records Management and Records Disposal Schedules) singled out from the sample illus-trate the possibilities offered by recent legislation and regulation on how to sup-port the transition to digital records management system. That said, the paper argues that these acts can (and must) become an integral element of abovemen-tioned transition strategy in the period when paper documentation is still very much in circulation at the same time when digital records are inexorably becom-ing the new norm. Second goal of the analysis is to consider how much are the creators and owners or possessors of records and archives in Croatia prepared to adopt the described solutions offered by the regulations when it comes to implementation of the digital transformation. The paper argues that there are noticeable advancesin this area, but that many still prefer to think about records management along traditional patterns related to conventional records “on paper”.
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to define preconditions and integration capabilities of the mobile business in supply chain management (SCM) in the hospitality industry via mobile devices and ...mobile applications. The aims of this paper are to reflect on what mobile technology has to offer and to draw attention to the role of mobile applications and their use in the SCM. Although mobile technologies are present in almost all areas, they are not used to their full potential. Design – The paper defines the concept of supply chain management in the hospitality industry and provides information about benefits of its successful implementation. Furthermore, this paper highlights the role of mobile technologies and mobile applications in supply chain management in the hospitality industry that bring numerous benefits starting with cost reduction, increased functionality, productivity, efficiency and ending up with satisfied users of logistics products in the hospitality industry. Methodology/approach - Based on an extensive literature review, the authors propose new solutions, such us “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) in the field of mobile business. Therefore, this paper attempts to investigate the possibilities offered by mobile technologies in the SCM. Findings – The paper introduces new trends in the field of mobile technology and emphasizes their importance and the impact in the management of modern supply chain. Furthermore, the findings in this paper may be useful in developing mobile solutions for SCM in the hospitality industry. Originality – This article provides useful insights for all participants in supply chain to better understand the benefits of the application of mobile technologies and mobile applications in the management of modern supply chain. The paper can also serve as a basis for further research in the area of application of mobile technologies in creating logistics products in the hospitality industry.
With the purpose of establishing differences in behaviour of tourist destination visitors this paper aims to identify their habits, attitudes and activities with regard to transport modalities used ...on a daily basis, during the trip to the destination, and while staying in the destination, highlighting the aspect of smart technology usage. The results of this study are part of a more extensive research on the behaviour of tourist destination visitors, conducted as part of the Project Cekom - Competence Center for Smart Cities, whereby the research tools and methods were built on the ETIS (European Tourism Indicators System) methodology. Approximately seven hundred visitors of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, which was taken as a case study, were included in the research. The study showed that accessibility was one of the key factors in destination choice for the respondents, and that their everyday transport behaviour patterns differ somewhat from their behaviour pattern when travelling and vacationing. Statistically significant differences were determined in the perceived experience of different groups of destination visitors', as well as in the frequency of use of smart technologies among groups of visitors with different transport behaviour. One of the research limitations with regard to generalization of conclusions is research focus on a specific destination area, as well as the pre-defined structure of the research sample, which is in line with the requirements of the funding EU project. Differences in transportation behaviour among groups of respondents in general, and in relation to the use of smart technologies, should be verified on a larger sample, in other destination areas. Acknowledging the behavioural aspects, i.e. the differences in the transport behaviour and smart technologies usage has social and practical implications for destinations, in the context of the changed dynamics in the relationships and roles of stakeholders on the tourism market.
Today, the amount of data in and around the business system requires new ways of data collection and processing. Discovering sentiments from hotel reviews helps improve hotel services and overall ...online reputation, as potential guests largely consult existing hotel reviews before booking. Therefore, hotel reviews of Croatian hotels (categories three, four, and five stars) in tourist regions of Croatia were studied on the Booking.com platform for the years 2019 and 2021 (before and after the start of the pandemic COVID-19). Hotels on the Adriatic coast were selected in the cities that were mentioned by several sources as the most popular: Rovinj, Pula, Krk, Zadar, Šibenik, Split, Brač, Hvar, Makarska, and Dubrovnik. The reviews were divided into four groups according to the overall rating and further divided into positive and negative in each group. Therefore, the elements that were present in the positive and negative reviews of each of the four groups were identified. Using the text processing method, the most frequent words and expressions (unigrams and bigrams), separately for the 2019 and 2021 tourism seasons, that can be useful for hotel management in managing accommodation services and achieving competitive advantages were identified. In the second part of the work, a machine learning (ML) model was built over all the collected reviews, classifying the reviews into positive or negative. The results of applying three different ML algorithms with precision and recall performance are described in the Results and Discussion section.
U današnje vrijeme količina podatka koja se nalazi u poslovnom sustavu i oko njega zahtijevanove načine prikupljanja i obrade podataka. Otkrivanje sentimenta iz hotelskih recenzija pridonosipoboljšanju hotelske usluge ali i ukupnoj online reputaciji budući da se potencijalni gosti prijerezervacije uvelike konzultiraju postojećim recenzijama smještaja. Na tragu toga, napravljeno jeistraživanje nad hotelskim recenzijama hrvatskih hotela (kategorija tri, četiri i pet zvjezdica) uturističkim hrvatskim regijama sa platforme Booking.com, za godinu 2019 i 2021 (prije i poslije COVID19 pandemije). Odabrani su hoteli sa Jadranske obale i to u gradovima koji su na više izvora odabranikao najpopularniji: Rovinj, Pula, Krk, Zadar, Šibenik, Split, Brač, Hvar, Makarska te Dubrovnik Recenzijesu grupirane u četiri grupe po ukupnom ratingu i dodatno podijeljene u svakoj grupi na pozitivnei negativne kako bi se identificirale stavke koje su prisutne u pozitivnim i negativnim recenzijamasvake od četiri grupe. Metodom procesiranja teksta identificirane su najčešće riječi i izrazi (unigramii bigrami) prisutni u spomenutim grupama recenzija, zasebno za 2019. i 2021. turističku sezonu, kojemogu poslužiti hotelskom menadžmentu kod upravljanja uslugama hotelskog smještaja i ostvarivanjakonkurentske prednosti. U drugom dijelu rada, izrađen je model strojnog učenja nad svim prikupljenimrecenzijama koji klasificira recenzije u pozitivne ili negativne. Rezultati primjene tri različita algoritmastrojnog učenja sa performansama preciznosti i odziva opisani su u sekciji rezultati i diskusija.
Drawing on archival records, the author presents the organization of the Professional Association of Orthodox Clergy in Croatia as well as the relation to the Church hierarchy and the communist ...leadership from the establishment of the Association in 1947 to 1967. Special emphasis is placed on the Slavonian eparchy and the actions of bishop Emilijan, a proponent of clerical associations. The paper presents data on the financing of the Association and on membership, shown in tables, providing an insight into a combined review of the financing and numbers of the Association. From the establishment of the Association’s initiative committee in Croatia in 1947 and up to 1967, between 85% and 92% of the Orthodox clergy were members of the association, whereas in the territory of the Slavonian eparchy the percentage was even higher, between 90% and 100%. The communist government was crucial to the Association’s formation and increased presence at state, republic and local levels, mainly through synchronised actions aimed at controlling religious communities, more or less similarly applied in all communist states. After the Association had been started, established and had achieved mass membership, the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and Udba (the State Security Service) with the assistance of the police and local party organizations entirely took control of the operations and personnel management of the Association, which eventually had an impact on the selection and appointment of senior church dignitaries. Most of the financial donations received by the Association and the Serbian Orthodox Church were mainly spent on material needs of the clergy, on restoration and construction works of religious facilities as well as on excursions and seminars, occasionally appearing rather factional than religious. The relationship with the communist government and the focus on solving particularly, the material needs of the clergy certainly had an effect on the presence of the faithful in at rites of the church, which came down increasingly to attendance at traditional annual occasions rather than at daily, weekly and other religious obligations. In contrast, the Catholic Church, acting as a vehement opponent of clerical associations, succeeded in being a strong as well as the only oppositional element in the territory of Croatia. The hierarchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church very rapidly accepted the reality of the existence of the Association and in so doing established an informal pact with the communists; in contrast to the Catholic Church, it became dependent on state assistance. This came even more to the fore in the territory of the Slavonian eparchy, because considering a member of the Association officiated as bishop and promoted the Association until his death. Finally, although the Serbian Orthodox Church was under the indirect control of the communists, the strengthening of nationalism within the Church was not prevented.

Zatim donose prikaz reakcija poljskih drzavnih vlasti na poslanicu u svjetlu crkveno-drzavnih odnosa u Poljskoj. S obzirom na to da je poslanica bila sastavni dio crkvenoga obiljezavanja tisucugodisnjice krscanstva u Poljaka, koje se odvijalo tijekom 1965. i 1966., poljski su biskupi na sredisnju proslavu pozvali biskupe iz cijeloga svijeta, pa tako i Jugoslavije. The Poland Bishops Conference wanted to mark this celebration by a striking gesture that would resonate in public as a sign of Christian goodness of the Polish Church and willingness to forgive even those acts which are the hardest to forgive. Given the fact that the preparations for the celebration were held during the proceeding of the Second Vatican Council, the Polish bishops took this opportunity to establish better contact with the West German bishops, and in agreement with them they prepared a pastoral letter which strongly echoed in the church, political and overall Polish, German and international public of that time. On November the 18th 1965, the Polish bishops sent this pastoral letter to the West German bishops, with the special emphasis on their forgiving and seeking forgiveness, and offering a dialogue with the aim of improving the relations between the Polish and the West German Church, people and states. This pastoral letter also took into account the problem of the German-Polish borders that had been established by the victorious forces after the Second World War, as well as the emigration of the German population from the west Poland to the Federal Republic of Germany, and the settlement of these areas by the Poles from the east in order to extend preferential treatment to Soviet interests. The West German bishops responded the letter in the similar reconcilable tone, but they did not tackle the problem of borders, with which a part of the Polish public was not satisfied. The Polish communist government reacted on all this harshly, accusing the Polish bishops that they had exited the church scope of jurisdiction and performed a treacherous act against the Polish government and state. Thus they were trying in many ways to obstruct the celebration of one thousand years of Christianity, yet due to the exceptional power and respectability of the Church among the people, they did not have great success. Considering that the Polish bishops invited bishops and church believers from many countries of Europe and the world to the celebration, the Polish authorities took various diplomatic measures to make their response as smaller as possible.
