Comprehensive Summary
Luminescent metal–organic frameworks (LMOFs) have become a promising class of fluorescence sensing materials, however, the multi‐responsive LMOF sensors for organic compounds ...are rather rare. Herein, a water stable and highly efficient luminescent MOF with the formula of {Zn(BBZB)(2,6‐NDC)·solvents}n (JXUST‐10, BBZB = 4,7‐bis(1H‐benzimidazole‐1‐yl)‐2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole and 2,6‐NDC = 2,6‐naphthalenedicarboxylate) was constructed by the incorporation of Zn2+ and two organic ligands (BBZB and 2,6‐NDC) featuring the conjugate system. JXUST‐10 is a three‐dimensional two‐fold interpenetrated framework with good fluorescent property. Based on the luminescent characteristic, JXUST‐10 can be used as a multi‐responsive sensor for detection of three different analytes including tetracycline, benzaldehyde and uric acid via different luminescent change behaviours. Remarkably, fluorescence test paper and LED light devices are used to detect analytes through the visual change of luminescence colour of JXUST‐10 from blue greenish to yellow greenish under ultraviolet light (365 nm) irradiation. Furthermore, the probable sensing mechanisms for three target analytes were also discussed.
A water stable and highly efficient luminescence MOF (JXUST‐10) can simply sense tetracycline, benzaldehyde and uric acid via different fluorescence behaviour. Remarkably, fluorescence test paper and LED light devices are applied to detect benzaldehyde and uric acid through the visual change of luminescence color of JXUST‐10.
Nowadays, numerous companies present themselves on social networking sites (SNSs) by establishing brand communities to maintain continuous interaction with existing and potential customers to ...influence their brand choices, promote the products and services, and cultivate brand loyalty. However, the research into online brand communities is mainly centered on that utilizing the platforms of websites instead of using social media platforms. Thus, it calls for more studies to investigate consumer brand fan page engagement behavior to increase their fan base and further induce a fan’s purchase behavior. By adopting the perspectives of co-production and social identity theory, this study endeavors to investigate the impact of customer perceived value derived from engaging in brand fan pages on their identification with and stickiness to an online brand community in the SNS-based context. The target population of this study is consumers who have ever participated in an online brand community. Data was collected through a web-based survey. After deleting 36 incomplete responses, 524 usable responses remained for further analysis, with an effective sample rate of 93.57%. The results revealed that utilitarian value, hedonic value, and monetary value separately exerted a significantly positive effect on community identification. Utilitarian value and hedonic value also had significantly positive effects on community stickiness. Moreover, community identification was positively related to community stickiness. Community identification was found to have significantly positive influences on both word-of-mouth and repurchase intention. Furthermore, community stickiness exerted a significantly positive effect on word-of-mouth and repurchase intention. This study confirms the importance of perceived value on enhancing consumers’ identification with and their stickiness to online brand communities. Therefore, businesses should provide consumers with the value they desired to cultivate customer loyalty to their brand fan pages.
Impedance matching and attenuation principles are decisive for electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption materials to achieve wider absorption bandwidth and higher strength absorption. By designing ...macrostructures to obtain metamaterials and tuning microstructures of absorption materials, impedance matching characteristic and absorption performance can be readily improved. In this paper, three-dimensional (3D) printing technology as well as precursor infiltration and pyrolysis (PIP) method were utilized to fabricate Al2O3/carbon nanotubes/SiC nanowires/SiOC composites with twisted cross metamaterial structures, where carbon nanotubes (CNTs) acted as a nucleating agent to obtain SiC nanowires (SiCnw) and as conductive phase to form conductive net structure, thus improving the dielectric and conductive loss of the composites. The Al2O3/CNT/SiCnw/SiOC composites achieved a minimum reflection coefficient (RCmin) value of −56.84 dB (99.999%) at 12.2 GHz with a thickness of 2.8 mm and the effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) ranges from 8.2–12.4 GHz with a thickness of 3.2 mm, covering the whole X-band. The excellent EMW absorption performance of the composite with metamaterial structure makes it possible to be practically applied.

Soybean products (soyfoods), reported as potential functional foods, are implicated in several health-enhancing properties, such as easing the symptoms of postmenopausal women, reducing the risk of ...osteoporosis, preventing cardiovascular disease, and antimutagenic effects. Isoflavone, for example, is one of the most important compounds abundantly found in soybean, mainly accounting for the health-enhancing properties as mentioned earlier. However, most biological activities of isoflavones are mainly attributed to their aglycone forms. It has also been demonstrated that isoflavone aglycones are absorbed faster and in greater amount than their glycosides in human intestines. Fortunately, deglycosylation of isoflavones can be achieved during fermentation process by several strains such as lactic acid bacteria, basidiomycetes, filamentous fungus, and
Bacillus subtilis
with their β-glucosidase activity. This article presents an overview of soybean’s chemistry, application, state-of-the-art advances in soybean fermentation processing and products as well as their applications in food and pharmaceutical industries. Different compounds, such as isoflavone, dietary fibers, and proteins which exhibit significant bioactivities, are summarized. The roles of different microorganisms in bioconversion and enhancement of bioactivities of fermented soybean are also discussed.
This paper presents a conceptual framework of Web users’ engagement in tourism information search for a comprehensive understanding of their integrated online and offline search behaviour. The ...information search experiences are characterised as a process constituting some common elements: prior knowledge and searching experiences, online searching strategies, processing and recording information, barriers to online searching, reasons for ending an online search, summarising information, exchanging information and searching for more information through other sources. Such behaviour goes beyond the scope of information searching and captures the other activities, including information processing, utilising and disseminating. The grounded theory research method is employed as an inductive investigative process in which the authors construct the framework by systematically collecting and analysing data. The aim of this research method is to build a theory. The data sets consist of both semi-structured in-depth interviews with subjects and their field observations based on online searching. A theoretical model incorporating 10 propositions is proposed for future testing.
► We propose a behavioural framework of Web users’ tourism information search. ► We provide an information search model across online and offline environments. ► We describe tourism information search as a process with related activities.

•Microplastics could accumulate in gill and gut of guppy.•Effect of microplastics on guppy growth was not significant.•Oxidative stress occurred in guppy after microplastics ...exposure.•Microplastics reduced C:N and δ13C content, but had no obvious effect on δ15N.•Catalase was the highest index in response to microplastics in guppy.
Microplastics (MPs) pollution becomes a research hotspot and many studies focus on threats of MPs, but few have integrated multi-level indicators to assess response to MPs of organisms. Here we exposed guppy (Poecilia reticulata) to MPs (polystyrene; 32−40 μm diameter) with two concentrations (100 and 1000 μg/L) for 28 days. We found that higher accumulation of MPs appeared in guppy gill than that in gut. MPs had no obvious effect on guppy growth but significantly inhibited the condition factor. Oxidative stress presented in guppy viscera with activated antioxidants. The decline of Na+/K+-ATP activity in guppy indicated that MPs might interfere with the osmotic balance of gills. MPs reduced body molar ratio of C:N and δ13C value, but no apparent impact on δ15N. It implied that MPs probably altered elemental transition. Eventually, through integrated biomarkers response index (IBR) of guppy, we found that catalase activity was the highest index in response to MPs, and the response of growth performance to MPs was lower than that of oxidative stress and element alteration. Risks of MPs aggravated in a concentration-dependent manner. These findings suggested that multi-level IBR approach should be adopted to quantify effects of MPs on aquatic organisms, especially on fish.
The Mild Behavioral Impairment Checklist (MBI-C) has been developed to assess mild behavioral impairment (MBI). However, no study has validated the use of MBI-C using a promising translation method ...in Taiwan. Thus, consistency and discrepancy between informant-rated and self-rated scores have not been extensively researched.
This study validated and compared the informant- and self-rated versions of the MBI-C among community-dwelling people in Taiwan.
We recruited 202 pairs of individuals without dementia aged ≥50 years and their cohabitating informants. The participants completed the MBI-C (MBI-C-self), and the informants completed the MBI-C (MBI-C-informant) and the Neuropsychiatric Inventory Questionnaire (NPI-Q) independently. Internal consistency, inter-rater reliability, and convergent validity were examined.
Both MBI-C-self and MBI-C-informant exhibited satisfactory Cronbach's α values (0.92 and 0.88, respectively). The MBI-C-informant total scorewas correlated with the NPI-Q total score (r = 0.83, p < 0.001). Inter-rater reliability between the two versions, as represented by the inter-rater correlation coefficient, was 0.57 (p < 0.001). The prevalence of MBI based on the MBI-C-informant scores was 1.5% higher than that based on the MBI-C-self scores according to the suggested cut-off score of 8.5. The affective dysregulation domain score of MBI-C-informant was significantly lower than that of MBI-C-self.
MBI-C-informant exhibited both high reliability and validity. Discrepancies between MBI-C-informant and MBI-C-self related to the detection rates and affective dysregulation domain scores were noted. The level of consistency and discrepancy between these two versions provide implications for the use of MBI-C in clinical practice and future research.
Impairment of physical function and abnormal body composition are the major presentations in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship ...between body composition and physical function in CKD patients.
This cross-sectional study enrolled 172 of CKD stages 1-5 from February 2013 to September 2013. Handgrip strength (upper extremity muscle endurance), 30-second chair-stand test (lower extremity muscle endurance) and 2-minute step test (cardiorespiratory endurance) were used as indices of physical function. Body composition, including fluid status (extracellular water/total body water, ECW/TBW), lean tissue index (LTI), and fat tissue index (FTI), was measured using a bioimpedance spectroscopy method.
All patients with high ECW/TBW had lower handgrip strength and 30-second chair-stand than those with low ECW/TBW (P<0.001 and P = 0.002). CKD patients with high FTI had lower handgrip strength and 30-second chair-stand than those with low FTI (P<0.001 and P = 0.002). These patients with low LTI had lower handgrip strength than those with high LTI (P = 0.04). In multivariate analysis, high ECW/TBW was positively associated with decreased handgrip strength (β = -41.17, P = 0.03) in CKD patients. High FTI was significantly correlated with decreased times of 30-second chair-stand (β = -0.13, P = 0.01). There was no significant relationship between body composition and 2-minute step test.
Our results show a significant association of impaired upper and lower extremity muscle endurance with high fluid status and fat tissue. Evaluation of body composition may assist in indentifying physical dysfunction earlier in CKD patients.
