In the present work, a numerical model is developed for sugarcane base cutting from experimental data obtained in five varieties of cane evaluated in the Physics and Resistance of Materials ...Laboratories of Ciego de Avila University. The performance of the BONEM and BUSSOLA base-cutter blade was analyzed in relation to process parameters such as stresses, cutting force and cutting moment. It was shown that BUSSOLA cutter blade had a better performance than BONEM for each of the varieties tested. In the analysis of a model with average magnitudes of the physical-mechanical properties of the stems of the varieties examined, the behavior graphs of the cutting forces over time and the Force - Displacement graphs for both segments were obtained. The main results show that there are no representative differences in relation to the magnitude of the stresses generated in the stems of each of the sugarcane varieties when they are cut with the different cutter blades. In addition, it was shown that the magnitudes of cutting force and cutting moment generated with the use of BONEM cutter-blade are significantly higher than those generated with BUSSOLA cutter-blade.

En el presente trabajo se desarrolla un modelo numerico para el corte base de la cana de azucar a partir de datos experimentales obtenidos en cinco variedades de cana evaluadas en los laboratorios de Fisica y Resistencia de Materiales de la Universidad de Ciego de Avila. Se analizo el desempeno de los segmentos de corte base BONEM y BUSSOLA con relacion a parametros del proceso como las tensiones, la fuerza de corte y el momento de corte. Se demostro que los segmentos de corte BUSSOLA poseen un mejor desempeno que los segmentos BONEM para cada una de las variedades ensayadas. En el analisis de un modelo con magnitudes promedios de las propiedades fisico-mecanicas de los tallos de las variedades examinadas se obtuvieron los graficos del comportamiento de las fuerzas cortantes en el tiempo y los graficos de Fuerza - Desplazamiento para ambos segmentos. Los principales resultados muestran que no existen diferencias representativas con relacion a la magnitud de las tensiones generadas en los tallos de cada una de las variedades de cana de azucar cuando se cortan estas con los diferentes segmentos de corte y las magnitudes de fuerza de corte y momento de corte generadas con el empleo de los segmentos BONEM son significativamente superiores a las que se generan con los segmentos BUSSOLA Palabras clave: Metodo de elemento finito, cosecha mecanizada de la cana de azucar, segmentos de corte base.
This paper is about the performance of the base-cutter BONEM blades in the sugar cane harvester machine CASE-IH 7000, by means of a flaw analysis and experimental field test in real condition of work ...by mass loss method, for determination of the tools wear. As fundamental results, it was obtained that the base cutter blades are responsible for more than 50% of the system flaw and that the magnitude of the wear during 48 hours of working period provokes that the tool losses its total capacity of work. En el presente trabajo se analiza el desempeno de los segmentos de corte base BONEM en las cosechadoras de cana de azucar CASE IH 7000, mediante un analisis de fallas y la realizacion de un ensayo experimental de campo en condiciones reales de explotacion, para la determinacion del desgaste de estas herramientas por el metodo gravimetrico. Como resultados fundamentales se obtienen que los segmentos de corte base son los responsables de mas del 50% de las fallas del sistema, y que la magnitud del desgaste provoca que en un periodo estimado de 48 horas de labor la herramienta perdera su capacidad total de trabajo.
