This case study explores the effect of the relationship between the principal of a secondary school within a poor community and the school governing body (SGB) on Grade 12 learner performance. The ...paper challenges the negative stereotype of the relationship between school principals and SGBs in lower-quintile schools. Much of the literature reports on allegations by principals that SGBs do not contribute to the improvement of schools; rather, they interfere negatively with the management thereof. This paper is couched in the collegial model. Using a single case study, the findings are based on qualitative data collected during interviews conducted with the principal and the chair of the SGB as well as observations in the classrooms and on the school grounds. The study found that there was a good relationship between the principal and the SGB chair. The paper concludes that a harmonious relationship between the principal and the SGB allows the SGB to support the school, resulting in enhanced Grade 12 academic performance in mathematics. A harmonious relationship between the principal and SGB forms the foundation for the academic performance of learners, as the majority of the SGB is represented by parents of the school. The data collected during the research study suggests that the greater school community must ensure that the chair of the SGB and the school principal have a good relationship and that the SGB is supportive of the school in advancing its educational activities.

The drying of herb in packed bed is a complex process that involves the simultaneous heat and mass transfer between the air and product. Thermodynamic analysis particularly exergy analysis to be an ...essential tool for evaluates the avaiable energy at different point in a drying system and provides the useful information for redisign.The objective of this study are determined destruction exergy and eficiency exergy of packed bed dryer for herb drying. A packed bed dryer used for drying experiments. This apparatus that has been prepared with the PID temperature control system. The drying experiments were conducted at different three sample height in bed of 10 cm,20 cm, and 30 cm. Air velocity that is used varied 0.4 m/s and 0.6 m/s. The result showed air temperature in bed decreases with distence because more heat is being transfered to the herb by increasing the distance from inlet of the bed. The highest average destruction exergy was15,015 kJ/s at air velocity 0,6 m/s and sample height 30 cm. The lowest value of average exergy eficiency was 23,59% ..at air velocity 0,6 m/s and sample height 10 cm. It was concluded that exergy eficiency decreased with increasing air velocity
In this research, there are two issues that are studied, firstly how is the business practice of Snack Video applications during the Covid-19 pandemic, secondly how is the perspective of Islamic ...economics law on the practice and income of the Snack Video application business. Researchers use the field method (field research). This research is qualitative research, then the data is described, analyzed, and discussed to answer these problems. So from the results of the study, it was found that the implementation of the Snack Video application business during the Covid-19 pandemic in Bukittinggi had there aspects, how to use the Snack Video application, how to exchange coins and become money from the Snack Video application and the motivation to use the Snack Video application was in accordance with the provisions. The Snack Video application and in accordance with the provisions of Islamic economy, which is not contrary to Islamic economy, as for cashing out the coins generated from the Snack Video application, it can be disbursed through the application. Money accepted by users is sourced from the company Joyo Technology, Pte. Ltd. and this is mutually beneficial for both parties. According to Islamic law, the contract on Snack Video application consisted of ijarah contract and juala contract which includes 4 missions to get coins that can be exchanged in the form of money. This contract is allowed so that the income earned from the Snack Video application business is included in the jaizah (allowed).
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to test the effect of organizational learning on employees’ job satisfaction, the effect of organizational learning on the employees’ organizational commitment, ...the effect of the organizational learning on employees’ performance, the effect of job satisfaction on the employees’ performance and the effect of organizational commitment on employees’ performance in PTPN XIII (Limited Liability Company) in West Kalimantan.
Design/methodology/approach
The population in this research refers to all employees of PTPN XIII (Limited Liability Company) in West Kalimantan, with the criteria that the employees are from class III‒IV (population of access). The size of the sample is determined by using the partial least square approach, which is 10 times of the size of formative indicator, that is, job satisfaction with five indicators plus employee performance with eight indicators, with the total being 13 × 10 = 130 employees. The sampling method used is proportional random sampling technique, which is based on work area (three working areas: Head Office, West Kalimantan I District and West Kalimantan District II).
Findings
Learning organization has a significant and positive effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment, but it has no significant effect on the employee performance. Job satisfaction and organizational commitment have a significant effect on employee performance.
Originality/value
The phenomenon that existed in PTPN XIII (Limited Liability Company) and referring from various previous research results, the study regarding employee performance was conducted using organizational learning variable as an exogenous variable and using job satisfaction and organizational commitment variable as an intervening variable. Robbins (1996) revealed that the relationship between organizational learning and performance is not very close. It is necessary to have other variables that can reinforce the relationship and to determine the extent to which the organizational learning can contribute to the improvement of the performance.
Indonesia has the potential to develop biomass, such as MSW and wood pellets, as a source of energy. Syngas from biomass gasification can be used as fuel for dual-fuel diesel engines in order to ...transition energy. We investigated the gasification of MSW and wood pellets using a downdraft reactor with a capacity of 130-144 kg in order to determine the properties of the produced syngas for use in dual-fuel syngas diesel engines. Four days are dedicated to the process of preheating biomass with sunlight. The experiment was designed with an equivalent ratio of 0.22 and an oxidation zone temperature between 700 and 900 degrees Celsius. In this paper, the A. fumigatus α-amylase had been immobilized onto zeolite/chitosan hybrid to improve its thermal-stabilization for industrial needs. The methods applied enzyme production, ...isolation, partial purification, immobilization, and characterization. The optimum temperatures of the native and immobilized enzymes were 50 and 55˚C, respectively. The native enzyme has KM of 3.478 ± 0.271 mg mL-1 substrate and Vmax of 2.211± 0.096 µmole mL-1 min-1, while the immobilized enzyme has KM value of 12.051 ± 4.949 mg mL-1 substrate and Vmax of 1.602 ± 0.576 µmole mL-1 min-1. The residual activity of the immobilized enzyme retained up 10.97% after fifth reuse cycles. The native enzyme has ΔGi of 104.35 ± 1.09 kJ mole-1 and t½ of 38.75 ± 1.53 min, while the immobilized enzyme has ΔGi of 108.03 ± 0.05 kJ mole-1 and t½ of 180.03 ± 3.31 min. According to the increase in half-life (t½), stability improvement of the A. fumigatusα-amylase was 4.65 times greater than the native enzyme.
