Search of new rational ways to increase the effectiveness of treatment and rehabilitation measures for patients with psoriasis vulgaris continues to be one of the urgent problems in modern clinical ...dermatology.
To carry out a comparative analysis of the impact of different variants of sanatorium-resort treatment (SRT) - pelotherapy and pelotherapy in combination with intravenous laser blood irradiation (ILBI) - on the level of IL-17 and TNF-a, dermatological status, psychoemotional state and quality of life (QL) assessment of patients with psoriasis vulgaris.
A naturalistic comparative study included 120 patients with psoriasis vulgaris, who were undergoing SRT: 57 patients in the pelotherapy group and 63 in the group of pelotherapy in combination with ILBI. The SRT effectiveness was assessed using the PASI index, the HARS and HDRS scales and the DLQI questionnaire. The dynamics of IL-17 and TNF-a plasma levels in blood plasma was studied. The study duration was 6 months 14 days.
After 14 days of SRT, a decrease in IL-17 and TNF-a levels in blood plasma was statistically significant both in the pelotherapy group and in the group of pelotherapy in combination with ILBI, no statistically significant differences between the groups were found. Furthermore, the comprehensive use of pelotherapy in combination with ILBI has contributed to a more pronounced statistically significant decrease in the PASI index, the HARS and HDRS scales' total scores and an increase in the level of QL. The number of patients with clinical remission was statistically higher in the group of pelotherapy combined with ILBI compared to the pelotherapy group (87.3% versus 42.1%) six months after SRT.
The advantage of comprehensive application of pelotherapy and ILBI in comparison with pelotherapy in patients with psoriasis vulgaris in SRT has been shown. The comprehensive application of pelotherapy and ILBI reduces the level of inflammatory biomarkers, improves dermatological and psychoemotional status, improves QL and is well tolerated by patients.
We describe a GPU-accelerated framework that efficiently models spatially (shift) variant system response kernels and performs forward- and back-projection operations with these kernels for the ...DIRECT (Direct Image Reconstruction for TOF) iterative reconstruction approach. Inherent challenges arise from the poor memory cache performance at non-axis aligned TOF directions. Focusing on the GPU memory access patterns, we utilize different kinds of GPU memory according to these patterns in order to maximize the memory cache performance. We also exploit the GPU instruction-level parallelism to efficiently hide long latencies from the memory operations. Our experiments indicate that our GPU implementation of the projection operators has slightly faster or approximately comparable time performance than FFT-based approaches using state-of-the-art FFTW routines. However, most importantly, our GPU framework can also efficiently handle any generic system response kernels, such as spatially symmetric and shift-variant as well as spatially asymmetric and shift-variant, both of which an FFT-based approach cannot cope with.
Theoretical and numerical results on angular and spectral distributions and total number of photons of several types of coherent radiation produced by microbunched beams passing through radiators are ...presented: coherent x-ray bremsstrahlung, x-ray transition, resonance transition, and diffraction radiations. The possibility of observation and application of these new types of radiation for the study of parameters of electron beam microbunching, which is important for the effectiveness of x-ray free electron lasers, is discussed.

Taking into account the difficulties of ...the carried out experiment it is proposed to measure directly the refractive index of Si and other materials detecting the total internal and external reflections.
Analytical and numerical results on the coherent X-ray Cherenkov radiation (CXCR) produced by microbunched beams in the region near the K-, L-edges of materials are obtained. The results show that ...CXCR can serve as a suitable mechanism for production intense beams of photons in the "water window" region as well as for studying the important microbunching process at FLASH TESLA, LCLS and other FELs.
The spectral and angular distributions as well as the total number of photons of gamma-ray Cherenkov-transition radiation (GCTR) in the photon energy region (1÷10) MeV produced by charged particles ...passing through an interface between two media and a stack of plates are calculated using the formulae of X-ray transition radiation. The concept of formation length for GCTR is discussed.
Without developing a correct theory the rate of the production of entangled photon pairs in the X-ray region by high energy electrons is estimated for experimental parameters used in a few ...experiments on X-ray parametric down conversion. Taking into account the need for X-ray entangled X-ray photons it is proposed to begin the experimental study of such mechanism of nonlinear X-ray optics before the developing of the theory and the launch of the X-ray FELs.
Though the influence of the laser field on channeling radiation (ChR) of electrons with energies up to ∼100MeV has been studied quantum mechanically in many works, nevertheless, up to now there are ...no experimental results on such effect. With the purpose to accelerate the necessary experiments and developing the theory of the stimulated ChR (SChR) under the influence of laser field carried out with the help of the methods of nonlinear optics in this work it is carried out numerical calculations of the spectral distributions of SChR for various electron and laser beam parameters.
