The task of textbooks has been recently discussed a lot. The textbook is often considered as a basic teaching material which includes the knowledge according to a given curriculum. That is why the ...article deals with textbooks within the education system in its first part. The second one illustrates the results of a survey on textbooks for technical subjects. The survey was realised at secondary vocational schools in Slovakia. This topic has been a part of the KEGA Project 026STU-4/2011: `rsquo;Quality Assessment Model of Vocational Education and Training at Secondary Vocational Schools in Slovakia'rsquo;.

The main essence of this study is to introduce and analyse the lifelong education, and also its inclusion into engineering pedagogy issues. We refer to its interconnections with engineering pedagogy ...too. We would like to refer to the present state of lifelong education in engineering pedagogy, especially in Slovakia. Within the frame of study, we deeply focus on the area of complementary teacher training belonging to the most important aspects in the education of engineers – the future teachers of technicians in the vocational high schools. We will analyse its meaning, system, importance of position and mainly its importance in the area of engineering pedagogy.
The article deals with the life-long education at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava, Slovakia. Based on a questionnaire which was given to the students of the Faculty, the ...main aim is to prepare four most required English language courses. Those courses will be prepared by specialised teachers who will also have to implement the information and communication technologies (ICT) in some way. The article presents the results of the questionnaire as well as the curricula of the four new courses.
The article presents the design of a machine for determining basic tribological features of real journal bearings. Thus, the article aims at presenting the principle of the machine and the kinematic ...scheme of the machine. The device is tested by a set of experiments with real journal bearings determined to be applied in automotive industry. The journal bearings on the base of bronze type B70 were tested. The experiment conditions resulted from the chosen application, steering servo unit.Original Abstract: U clanku je prikazana konstrukcija stroja za odredivanje osnovnih triboloskih znacajki stvarnih kliznih lezaja. Dakle, clanak ima za cilj prikazati princip stroja i kinematicku shemu stroja. Uredaj je testiran na setu eksperimenata sa stvarnim kliznim lezajima s namjerom da se primjenjuju u automobilskoj industriji. Testirani su klizni lezaji na bazi bronce tipa B70. Eksperimentalni uvjeti rezultirali su iz odabranog primjera - upravljacki servo uredaj.

In technical practice, increasing wear resistance can be done in a variety of methods. However, most of them are technologically, time, and energy intensive, and the costs incurred frequently ...outweigh the benefits received. This study aims at surface modification of the selected grades of steels (25CrMo4, 30CrMoV9, 41CrAlMo7) through the TIG (tungsten inert gas) remelting process using a CaCN

-based powder. TIG remelting process was conducted in the shielding atmosphere of 99.996% argon (argon 4.6) at a gas flow of 10 l·min

and a welding current of 110 A. After remelting, the microstructure of the generated layers was analysed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the hardness of newly formed layers was evaluated using a microhardness machine. In all of the tested steels, nitrogen had a favourable impact on the rise in hardenability, which resulted in a notable increase in hardness and resistance to abrasive wear. A significant increase in hardness and abrasive wear resistance was achieved up to a depth of 1–1.5 mm from the surface in the case of all steels through the remelting process. The effect of nitrogen on the increase in the investigated properties is documented by a comparison of samples remelted in the absence and presence of CaCN

-based powder. The most significant increases of both parameters under investigation were attained in 25CrMo4 steel, which had the most considerable nitrogen enrichment. This method represents a cheap, technologically available, and fast way of forming surface layers with increased hardness and wear resistance, which makes it applicable in engineering, agriculture, earthworks, etc.
