Objective:This study aimed to explore the experience of terminal cancer patients in their decision - making process of palliative care at home.
Method: This study was a qualitative study using descriptive phenomenological approach. The data were obtained through in-depth interview technique for 40 – 60 minues with 10 palliative cancer patients with the focus of the question exploring the experience of terminal cancer patients decisionmaking for home-based palliative care. Analyzed by using Collaizi method.
Results: The results obtained 2 themes which significantly describe the dynamic of patients with cancer from medication process to decision making of palliative care at home. Two themes emerged in this study were (1) patient wish to stay treated in the hospital and (2) the influence of family dominance in making palliative care decision.
Conclusions: The study was expected to be a reference for nurses in conducting therapeutic approach by considering participant’s characteristics.Itwasalsoexpectedtoimprovenurses’knowledgeandcommunication skills inadvocating and clearly informing palliative care purposes and program at home. Thus, patients do not have doubt to receive discharge from hospital and palliative care at home. In addition, a strategy from government is needed to optimize palliative programs through palliative care based on home care in various regions in Indonesia.
Background: Every single person including people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) have five basic needs; one of which is a physiological sexual need. Unfortunately, PLWHA face many difficulties in ...fulfilling their sexual needs due to the stigma and fear of infecting their partner.Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the lived experience of PLWHA and partner’s responses toward the fulfillment of sexual needs.Methods: This study was a qualitative descriptive phenomenological research, which collected data through in-depth interviews from fourteen PLWHA in Paramacitta Spirit Foundation, Denpasar. The participants were recruited through snowball sampling, informed and gave consent for their voluntary participation. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi’s phenomenological method.Results: The study revealed five themes describing the sexual experiences of PLWHA, including: (1) the fulfillment of sexual need of PLWHA, (2) the roles of partner for PLWHA, (3) various perceived stimuli which could increase the sexual desire, (4) the perceived factors which could incapacitate the ability and quality of sexual desire, and (5) the efforts to increase sexual capability and quality. Conclusion: Sex was an important need for PLWHA to meet. Despite having a virus, after undergoing anti-retroviral (ARV) treatment, PLWHA felt healthier, and thus they could meet their sexual need like a normal person in general.
People with epilepsy can lead a normal life, but there are many factors that can affect their quality of life. People with epilepsy may feel anxiety and even depression about their life, which can ...have an impact on productivity. This study aimed to identify factors affecting the quality of life of epilepsy patients. This study used a cross-sectional design with consecutive sampling and 100 respondents. The analysis used the Chisquare test and logistic regression. The results indicated that the majority of people with epilepsy in the study had a low quality of life (62 people, 62%) and the most influential factor affecting the quality of life was seizure type (odds ratio = 9.716, p = 0.001). Based on the findings, it can be concluded that education level, seizure frequency, type of seizure, stigma and medication adherence are factors that can affect the quality of life in epilepsy patients. Nurses can provide education on the management of seizures to epilepsy patients and their families, to improve the quality of life of people with epilepsy.

This literature study aims to identify complementary therapies that can be used to reduce pain and anxiety in patients with acute coronary syndrome. The research method uses literature study, ...articles collected through the Google Scholar, EBSCO, Science Direct, Scopus and ProQuest databases in the form of articles published in 2018-2022 using the PRISMA approach. The article search strategy uses keywords/MeSH, namely "Complementary therapy" AND "Nursing Intervention" AND "Pain" AND "anxiety" AND "Acute Coronary Syndrome". As a result of the research, a total of 9 articles containing complementary therapy interventions in controlling pain were selected based on the inclusion criteria of patients with a medical diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome and were human clinical trials. In conclusion, inhalation of aromatherapy Melissa essential (lemon balm) and peppermint as well as thermotherapy are effective in the patient's acute pain phase. Deep breathing and massage relaxation interventions can reduce anxiety in ACS patients.

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of intradialytic exercises and HD temperature profiling in improving the quality of HD services. The literature search method is based on the compilation ...of PICO through online database searches on Clinicalkey, Clinicalkey Nursing, ScienceDirect, EBSCO, ProQuest, and Scopus. Journal search results obtained 20,106 articles; after the selection stage, nine reports were obtained for analysis, consisting of 5 RCT articles, one systematic review article, two quasi-experimental articles, and one meta-analysis article. The results showed that HD patients who were routinely given intradialytic exercises would show an increase in HD adequacy achievements, suppress inflammatory reactions, increase albumin and hemoglobin values, reduce the erythropoietin resistance index, increase phosphate clearance, improve the quality of life of HD patients and minimize the risk of both acute and chronic complications. Chronic disease caused by HD. Meanwhile, temperature profiling can reduce the incidence of intradialytic hypotension, pruritus, and fatigue and reduce the severity of Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) without interfering with the achievement of HD adequacy. This study concludes that intradialytic training and temperature profiling effectively improve the quality of HD services.

Background: The process of fighting chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a challenge that affects the patient's quality of life. Moreover, the inevitable symptoms of fatigue often result ...in limitations in physical, emotional, cognitive and social aspects. However, in overcoming this there are new opportunities, namely the use of complementary therapies to optimally treat fatigue, paving the way for more effective health care for COPD sufferers. Purpose: To investigate and synthesize scientific evidence regarding the use of complementary therapies for fatigue in COPD patients. Method: Systematic review using PRISMA guidelines using five databases, including PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Cochrane and EMBASE. Search using the keyword combination "COPD" OR "Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease" AND "Complementary Therapy" OR "Nonpharmacologic Therapy" OR "Supportive Therapy" AND "Fatigue" OR "Overtiredness" OR "Exhaustion". The article criteria used were quantitative research, RCT design, COPD patient respondents in inpatient or outpatient settings, complementary therapy or non-pharmacological interventions with a minimum duration of 2 weeks, measuring fatigue with fatigue instruments, English language, full text, and publication 2016-2023 . Results: Seven articles were found that met the criteria for analysis. Complementary therapy is grouped as follows, therapy with additional equipment, therapy carried out by professionals, therapy combined with additional equipment and carried out by professionals, and therapy without additional equipment and not carried out by professionals. Conclusion: Therapy with professional assistance such as yoga and reflexology reduces the average fatigue score the most, followed by therapy without additional equipment and without professional assistance such as PMR and DB, as well as therapy with additional equipment such as TENS and IMT or a combination of additional equipment and carried out professionally (MT on IMT). Yoga with online classes or through media such as videos can be adopted as a rehabilitation program at home. Suggestion: Future research is expected to examine the advantages and limitations of complementary therapies to reduce fatigue, so that they can be combined for better results. Pendahuluan: Proses melawan penyakit paru obstruktif kronik (PPOK) menjadi sebuah tantangan yang mempengaruhi kualitas hidup pasien. Terlebih, gejala fatigue yang tak terhindarkan sering kali menjadi keterbatasan dalam aspek fisik, emosional, kognitif, dan sosial. Namun, dalam mengatasi hal tersebut terdapat peluang baru, yakni dengan penggunaan terapi komplementer untuk menangani fatigue secara optimal, membuka jalan bagi perawatan kesehatan yang lebih efektif untuk para penderita PPOK. Tujuan: Untuk menyelidiki dan menyintesis bukti-bukti ilmiah mengenai penggunaan terapi komplementer untuk fatigue pada pasien PPOK. Metode: Tinjauan sistematis dengan panduan PRISMA menggunakan lima database antara lain, PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Cochrane dan EMBASE. Pencarian dengan kombinasi kata kunci ”COPD” OR ”Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease” AND ”Complementary Therapy” OR ”Nonpharmacologic Therapy” OR ”Supportive Therapy” AND ”Fatigue” OR ”Overtiredness” OR ”Exhaustion”. Kriteria artikel yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif, desain RCT, responden pasien PPOK di rawat inap ataupun rawat jalan, intervensi terapi komplementer atau non-farmakologis berdurasi minimal 2 minggu, mengukur fatigue dengan instrumen fatigue, berbahasa inggris, teks lengkap, dan publikasi 2016-2023. Hasil: Ditemukan tujuh artikel yang sesuai kriteria untuk dilakukan analisis. Terapi komplementer dikelompokkan sebagai berikut, terapi dengan alat tambahan, terapi dilakukan profesional, terapi kombinasi alat tambahan dan dilakukan profesional, serta terapi tanpa alat tambahan dan tanpa dilakukan profesional. Simpulan: Terapi dengan bantuan profesional seperti, yoga dan reflexology menurunkan skor rata-rata fatigue paling besar, diikuti terapi tanpa alat tambahan dan tanpa dilakukan profesional seperti, PMR dan DB, serta terapi dengan alat tambahan seperti, TENS dan IMT maupun kombinasi alat tambahan dan dilakukan profesional (MT pada IMT). Yoga dengan kelas online atau melalui media seperti video dapat diadopsi untuk menjadi program rehabilitasi di rumah. Saran: Penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan dapat mengkaji kelebihan dan keterbatasan terapi komplementer untuk menurunkan fatigue, sehingga dapat dikombinasikan untuk hasil yang lebih baik. This systematic review aims to examine the effectiveness of physical exercise in improving the quality of life of liver cirrhosis patients. The author's method was to carry out a search process for ...relevant journals regarding the influence of physical exercise in improving the quality of life of liver cirrhosis patients. The author searched for literature using four data bases, namely; pubmed, embase, clinical key, science direct with year restrictions from 2020 - 2023. During the search process the author typed several keywords, such as: Physical therapy OR Physical exercise OR Physical activity) AND (quality of life OR Life Quality OR Health-Related Quality Of Life) AND (Liver cirrhosis OR Hepatic Cirrhosis. The results of the research, from the initial search results, resulted in 6 articles being analyzed. Of the 6 physical activity articles, The Strength Training Intervention (STRIVE), Home-Based Physical Activity, Resistance Training, were effective in improving quality life in liver cirrhosis patients. In conclusion, physical activity interventions applied to liver cirrhosis patients can improve the quality of life of liver cirrhosis patients.
