The purpose of the study was to determine the age-specific features of the motor fitness of girls aged 7 to 9.
Materials and methods. The study participants were 27 girls aged 7, 40 girls aged 8, and ...35 girls aged 9. The children and their parents were informed about all the features of the study and gave their consent to participate in the experiment. The study used such research methods as analysis of scientific and methodical literature, pedagogical observations, motor fitness testing, a probabilistic approach to the assessment of the learning process, and methods of mathematical statistics.
Results. The level of proficiency in gymnastic exercises, the level of development of coordination abilities, endurance and speed strength are those indicators that can be used to assess the motor fitness of girls aged 7 to 9. Attention is drawn to the fact that the level of proficiency in exercises is a key element in the motor fitness of girls. The obtained discriminant functions have statistical significance both in the classification of data and in the determination of the structural features of the motor fitness of girls aged 7 to 9.
Conclusions. The standardized and structure coefficients of the discriminant function indicate that the most important indicators in the motor fitness of girls aged 7 to 9 are the level of general endurance, coordination of movements, relative arm strength and the level of proficiency in gymnastic exercises.
The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of the number of repetitions on the effectiveness of the process of learning to throw a small ball for 9-year-old boys. Materials and methods. The ...study involved 27 9-year-old boys, divided into three groups of 9 people in random order. Children and their parents were aware of all the features of the study and gave consent to participate in the experiment. The influence of the number of repetitions on the effectiveness of the process of learning to throw a small ball at a target in 9-year-old boys was studied. In a pedagogical experiment, the effect of 6, 12 and 18 repetitions with a rest interval of 60 s on the increase in the level of training in exercises of 9-year-old boys was studied. In the first group, boys repeated the task 6 times with a rest interval of 60 s, in the second group - 12 times with a rest interval of 60 s, in the third group 18 times with a rest interval of 60 s. In the process of teaching throwing exercises in a lesson, the level of training (“completed”, “failed to complete”) was assessed using an alternative method, and the probability of completing the exercise was calculated (p = n/m, where n is the number of successfully completed attempts, m is the total number of attempts). The method of algorithmic prescriptions was used in teaching 9-year-old boys. The transition to the next exercise was carried out after three successful attempts. Throwing a ball at a vertical target was studied. The research materials were processed in the statistical analysis program - IBM SPSS 20. In the process of discriminant analysis, a prognostic model for group membership was created. Results. Discriminant analysis made it possible to determine the influence of the number of repetitions on the effectiveness of developing the skills of throwing a small ball at a target; answer the question how reliably the repetition modes differ in terms of the effectiveness of the formation of motor skills, what class the object belongs to based on the discriminant values of the variables. Conclusions. Based on the analysis of group centroids, it was determined that 18 repetitions (6 sets of 3 times with a rest interval of 60 s) has a significant impact on the increase in the level of learning in physical education lessons. The group classification results show that 63.0% of the original grouped observations were correctly classified.
The purpose of the study was to determine the impact of exercise modes on the effectiveness of teaching girls aged 15 a cartwheel. Materials and methods. The study participants were 20 girls aged 15. ...The children and their parents were fully informed about all the features of the study and gave their consent to participate in the experiment. To solve the tasks set, the following research methods were used: study and analysis of scientific and methodological literature; pedagogical observation, timing of training tasks; pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics, discriminant analysis. Results. The analysis of averages shows that statistically significant differences in the number of repetitions are observed in performing series of training tasks 1, 2, and 4 (p < 0.05). The girls aged 15 who use the first mode (6 sets 1 time each with a rest interval of 60 s) need fewer repetitions to master the movements of the first (exercises to develop motor abilities) and the second (exercises to master starting and ending positions) series of tasks. The girls who use the second mode (6 sets 2 times each with a rest interval of 60 s) need fewer repetitions to master the movements of the fourth series of tasks (ability to assess movements in space, by time and muscular effort) (p < 0.05). Conclusions. Discriminant analysis made it possible to determine the impact of the number of repetitions on the effectiveness of developing the cartwheel skill in girls aged 15. During motor skills development, both the first and the second variants of exercise modes and rest intervals can be used. For series of tasks 1 and 2, it is advisable to use 6 sets 1 time each with a rest interval of 60 s; for series of tasks 3, 5, and 6 – 6 sets 1 time each with a rest interval of 60 s or 6 sets 2 times each with a rest interval of 60 s; for series 4 – 6 sets 2 times each with a rest interval of 60 s.
Background and Study Aim. The purpose of research is to test experimentally the effectiveness of the influence of game means on the dynamics of endurance development in 10-year-old boys who attend ...the sports section of Kyokushinkai karate. Material and Methods. Forty 10-year-old boys engaged in Kyokushinkai karate took part in the research. The children and their parents were informed about all peculiarities of the research and agreed to participate in the experiment. The following research methods were used to solve the tasks: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical testing, and methods of mathematical statistics for processing research results. Results. Statistically significant changes in results occurred in the studied groups (p<0,001). The improvement of the level of endurance development in 10-year-old boys’ karate athletes in favor of EG is confirmed. The highest statistically significant changes in EG indicators (р<0.001) occurred in tests "Bent arm hang" (14.6%), "Push-ups" (11.8%), "Burpee" (11.8%). The average performance in 300 m run (8.6%) and in kicks "Mawashi geri chudan" with the right (left) foot slightly increased by 9.8% and 8.1%, respectively. There was no significant difference in the results of the test "Sit-ups in 1 min from the supine position" between EG and CG groups (1.1%, p>0.05). However, both groups showed a sufficiently confident increase in the level of local dynamic power endurance (EG – 11.6%, CG – 10.4% at p<0.001). Conclusions. The level of boys’ endurance at the initial stage of the pedagogical experiment corresponds to proper age norms. According to most results, 36% of boys are classified as of average level, 16.5% as above average, 17% as high. The rest of the indicators were distributed between below average and low levels, 12% and 18.5%, respectively. A significant lag was found in terms of general endurance (300 m run test). The dynamics of the obtained data testified to the effectiveness of the developed, tested, and implemented physical education methodology of endurance development in 10-year-old boys’ karate athletes with outdoor games. Because of application of game load (5 games, 3 repetitions with rest intervals of 20 s) there was a statistically significant increase in endurance (р<0.001).
The purpose of study is to determine the effectiveness of the influence of strength fitness on the development of motor abilities of high school students.
Materials and methods. The study was ...conducted on the basis of secondary school No. 55 Kharkiv in several stages. During the study, two groups were created: experimental and control. The control and experimental groups included 10 boys of 10 grade each. In the control group, lessons were held on the module “Gymnastics” according to the thematic plan. And in the experimental group the lessons content included: strength fitness, stretching exercises and aerobic combinations. Special attention was paid to the preparation of muscles for performing the exercises of the main part of the lesson - strength training. Research methods: study, synthesis and comparative analysis of literature and other sources on the research issue; observation; questionnaires, diagnosis of well-being, activity, mood according to the WAM method, testing of motor readiness, methods of mathematical statistics.
Results. According to the study results, in the experimental group was found a probable improvement in the state of activity by 11.3 points (p<0.01) and mood by 12.7 points (p<0.01). This indicates the positive impact of strength fitness exercises, modern music accompaniment and the corresponding load on these indicators. In the control group under the program of the variable module “Gymnastics” we observed an improvement in strength abilities such as flexion and extension of the arms in the abutment position by 3.8 (p<0.05). Indicators of motor abilities of students in the experimental group at the end of the trial had probable shifts towards improvement: shuttle run 4×9 m by 0.9 sec. (p<0.01), flexion and extension of the arms in the abutment position by 3.9 times (p<0.05), flexion and extension of the arms in suspension by 1.5 times (p<0.05), bent suspension by 7.4 sec. (p<0.001), jump in length from the place by 7.4 cm (p<0.05), flexibility (torso inclination) by 3.1 cm (p<0.001).
Conclusions. The use of recreational fitness in physical education classes in high school students not only contributes to an increase in the level of motor abilities, but also improves the emotional state of students. Through a combination of physical education, aerobic exercise, stretching, strength fitness, breathing exercises, visualization, high school students noted an improvement in well-being, mood, and activity.
Background and Study Aim. The purpose of the study was to determine the peculiarities of using pattern recognition method in the management of the cumulative effect of strength loads in 8-year-old ...boys.
Materials and methods. The study participants were 48 boys aged 8. The experiment was conducted using a 22 factorial design. The study materials were processed by the IBM SPSS 22 statistical analysis program. Discriminant analysis was performed. The study examined the impact of four variants of strength load on the formation of the cumulative training effect of three, six, nine, and twelve classes in 8-year-old boys.
Results. The discriminant analysis provided information about the impact of four orthogonal variants of strength loads on the formation of the cumulative training effect of strength exercises of three, six, nine, and twelve classes in 8-year-old boys. The obtained data make it possible to choose a load mode at each step of the CTE formation and to manage schoolchildren’s strength training.
Conclusions. The verification of the obtained discriminant functions shows their high discriminative ability and value in interpretation with respect to the general population (p < 0.05). It was found that the formation of the CTE of three classes is most influenced by the third load variant, six classes – by the third load variant, nine classes – the third load variant, twelve classes – the first load variant. The discriminant function structure coefficients made it possible to identify the factor structure of the CTE of 3, 6, 9, 12 classes, to find that the CTE3, CTE6 are associated with the work at the first place “Exercises to strengthen arm muscles”, the CTE9, CTE12 – with the work at the third (“Exercises to strengthen back muscles”) and the fourth (“Exercises to strengthen leg muscles”) places. The CTE of three, six, nine, and twelve classes depends on the modes of strength exercises and has different focuses. The CTE3 – speed and strength focus; CTE6, 9 – comprehensive focus; CTE12 – explosive-strength focus. The obtained values of centroids for the CTE of 3, 6, 9, 12 classes enable the management of schoolchildren’s strength training.
Background and Study Aim. The purpose of the study was to determine the ratio between means of teaching and motor training in junior school physical education classes.
Materials and methods. The ...study involved 32 boys who were 8 years old at the beginning of the experiment. They were randomly divided into four groups of eight people each. A pedagogical experiment was conducted using a 22 full factorial design. The study recorded the following indicators: number of repetitions required to teach exercises; grade for a unidirectional movement coordination exercise (test 1); grade for a multidirectional movement coordination exercise (test 2); error in time accuracy of performing the squat thrust (test 3); error in time accuracy of 5 jumps on marks in 5 s (test 4); error in assessing muscular effort with visual control (test 5); vestibular stability, error (test 6). The obtained experimental material was processed statistically using statistical analysis software packages (SPSS 20).
Results. According to the logistic function analysis, the achievement of an optimal result in differentiating temporal characteristics of movement requires 8.5 months, strength characteristics of movement – 8 months, movement coordination – 8 months, vestibular analyzer stability – 10 months. It takes 3 to 5 months to obtain positive increases in testing results in boys aged 8-9. The ratio of time allotted for strength training (ST) and coordination training (CT) to teaching motor actions (TMA) varies as 1:4 (ST: TMA) and 1:4.5 (CT: TMA).
Conclusions. The ratio of time allotted for strength training, coordination training, and teaching to the time of the main part of the class ranges between 14.3-23.5% (strength training), 17.1-23.5% (coordination training), and 53.0-68.6% (teaching). As exercises become more complicated, the time allotted for strength and coordination training increases.
The purpose of the study was to obtain regression models of immediate and delayed training effect of strength loads in boys aged 8 years, based on a full factorial experiment. Materials and methods. ...The study participants were 48 boys aged 8 years. The experiment was performed using a 22 factorial design. The study materials were processed by the IBM SPSS 22 statistical analysis program. The study examined the impact of four variants of strength load on the immediate (ITE) and the delayed (DTE) training effect of orthogonal strength exercises modes and rest intervals in boys aged 8 years. Results. The study results show that in the proposed matrix of the 22 full factorial design, the chosen step of variation of factors is sufficient to study the influence of different modes of strength exercises on the dynamics of ITE in boys aged 8 years. Based on the data analysis, the study obtained regression models of load for calculating the ITE1, ITE2, and DTE. The obtained regression models make it possible to calculate the number of repetitions and rest interval to achieve the most rational load variant. Conclusions. The analysis of regression equations shows the interrelation between training effects: ITE1 —> ITE2 —> DTE. The value of ITE1, ITE2, and DTE at station I (exercises to strengthen arms and shoulders) and station II (exercises to strengthen abdominal muscles) depends on the increase in the number of repetitions in a set and the duration of the rest interval. The value of ITE1, ITE2 at station ІІІ (exercises to strengthen back muscles) depends on the increase in the number of repetitions in a set and the duration of the rest interval. The value of DTE – on the increase in the number of repetitions in a set and the reduction of the rest interval duration. The value of ITE1 at station IV (exercises to strengthen leg muscles) depends on the increase in the number of repetitions in a set and the reduction of the rest interval duration. To strengthen the DTE, it is necessary to reduce the number of repetitions in a set and the duration of the rest interval.
Background and Study Aim. The study purpose was to determine the effect of exercise performance modes on the effectiveness of teaching the vault to 8-year-old boys.
Materials and methods. The study ...participants were 32 boys aged 8 who were divided into 4 groups of 8 pesons. The children and their parents were informed about all the features of the study and gave their consent to participate in the experiment. The pedagogical experiment investigated the effect of the number of sets (х1), the number of repetitions in a set (х2), and a 60-second rest time on the change in the gain in the level of proficiency of 8-year-old boys in straddle vault over the buck. A method of algorithmic instructions was used in the training. The participants proceeded to the next exercise after three successful attempts.
Results. Statistical analysis of the significance of the discriminant functions showed that the first function explains 81.2% of the data variation and has a high canonical correlation value (r = 0.751). The first function has a high discriminative ability (λ = 0.332, p < 0.021) and can be used to classify the modes of physical exercise performance in the process of formation of motor skills.
Conclusions. The use of multivariate statistics makes it possible to determine the structure of the training program, confirm the effectiveness of the selection of motor tasks, and classify the modes of physical exercise performance during the training process. The best mode of physical exercise performance in teaching the vault to 8-year-old boys is 12 sets of 3 repetitions with a rest time of 60 seconds.

A pedagogical experiment studied the impact of 6, 12, and 18 repetitions with a 60-second rest interval on the increase in the level of proficiency in exercises of boys aged 7. In the first group, the boys repeated the task 6 times with a rest interval of 60 s, in the second group – 12 times with a rest interval of 60 s, in the third group 18 times with a rest interval of 60 s. When teaching throwing exercises during the class, the study assessed the level of proficiency by the alternative method (“performed”, “failed”) and calculated the probability of exercise performance (p = n/m, where n is the number of successful attempts, m is the total number of attempts). In teaching boys aged 7, the method of algorithmic instructions was used. The next exercise started after three successful attempts. Throwing a ball at a vertical target was taught. The study materials were processed by the IBM SPSS 20 statistical analysis software. During discriminant analysis, a prognostic model for group membership was created. Results. Conclusions. Based on the analysis of group centroids, it was found that 12 repetitions of the exercise (6 sets 2 time each with a rest interval of 60 s) significantly influence the increase in the level of proficiency in physical education classes. The results of group classification show that 94.4% of the original grouped observations were classified correctly.
