Levinas se kljub številnim antičnim mitološkim in širšim literarnim reminiscencam in kljub svoji zakoreninjenosti v judovskem duhovnem izročilu vedno znova vrača k izražanju, ki bi lahko doseglo ...vsakega človeka in ki bi bilo torej v tem smislu univerzalno, ker bi ga bilo mogoče izraziti z razumsko opredeljivimi pojmi. To pa ne pomeni, da bi želel omejiti filozofijo na golo formo logičnih kategorij in jo prikrajšati za njeno pravico do legitimnih vprašanj, ki od samih izvorov dalje ostajajo srčika filozofije v njenem etimološkem pomenu, torej ljubezni do modrosti, ki je veliko več kot samo razum. Ali še bolje – Levinas bo širil polje razuma z novo pojmovnostjo, a njegova modrost ostaja še vedno razumna. V kakšnem smislu pa gre pri Levinasu za »drugačno razumost«, je mogoče odkrivati le postopoma, skozi plasti njegovega »palimpsesta«.

In the paper the results of the acoustic emission (AE) based detection and characterization of stress-corrosion cracking (SCC) in stainless steel are presented. As supportive methods for AE interpretation, electrochemical noise, specimen elongation measurements, and digital imaging of the specimen surface were used. Based on the defined qualitative and quantitative time and power spectra characteristics of the AE bursts, a manual and an automatic procedure for the detection of crack related AE bursts were introduced. The results of the analysis of the crack related AE bursts indicate that the AE method is capable of detecting large scale cracks, where, apart from intergranular crack propagation, also some small ductile fractures occur. The sizes of the corresponding ductile fracture areas can be estimated based on a relative comparison of the energies of the detected AE bursts. It has also been shown that AE burst time and power spectra features can be successfully used for the automatic detection of SCC.
Specimens of sensitized type AISI 304 stainless steel were subjected to constant load and exposed to an aqueous sodium thiosulphate solution. Intergranular stress-corrosion cracking was monitored ...simultaneously for electrochemical noise, acoustic emission, and specimen elongation. A section of the gauge length was monitored optically with subsequent analysis by digital image correlation. Correlations between the results were observed and analysed. Electrochemical noise and elongation are associated with crack propagation from the early stages, whereas acoustic emission is associated with the final stages of fracture. Digital image correlation analysis is sensitive to crack development, and is used to measure crack length and crack openings.
The purpose of this study was to explore the distribution and role of causal beliefs, inferences of responsibility, and moral emotions on deservingness of help to addicts among Norwegian adults using ...the social motivational model of Weiner. The data derives from a web panel survey of Norwegian adults aged 20 to 69 years (N = 1062, response rate 67%) in 2011. They responded to a questionnaire tapping into the above measures for nine different addictions in terms of a hypothetical person: "Think of a person addicted to-." The respondents mainly located the cause of the addictions inside the person and attributed the responsibility for the problem to the individual. In general, addicted persons did not receive a high mean level of sympathy, whereas a high mean level of willingness to provide help and assistance was reported. However, there were substantial variations among the nine addictions as to mean rating levels, with snus and sedatives as the two extreme counterparts. Separate SEM analyses for the nine addictions showed support for Weiner's mediation model with inferences of responsibility and sympathy (moral emotion) as effective mediators for deservingness of help. This pattern was stable across the nine addictions. Implications for interventions and possible limitations are discussed.
Sportovní výsledek splňuje svůj pravý účel tehdy, je-li zaznamenán veřejností a podle příslušné odezvy nabývá případně dalších významných dimenzí. Význam sportovního výsledku je nejčastěji hodnocen ...intuitivně a na základě emocionálních reakcí a názorů na jeho důležitost v národním, nikoliv celosvětovém měřítku. Analýza hodnocení vrcholového sportovního výsledku dosaženého na nejvýznamnějších soutěžích odhaluje, že různé typy obecenstva hodnotí sportovní výsledky různě. Sportovní výsledek z podstatné části více uznává široká a odborná veřejnost, zatímco novináři jej oceňují nejméně. Posledně jmenovaní se snaží zůstat objektivní, když referují např. o jednorázové velké sportovní akci; nicméně novináři nedostatečně chápou to, že významný sportovní úspěch je výsledkem dlouhodobého tréninko-vého procesu. Odborná veřejnost si sportovních výsled-ků cení více než novináři; toto je zřejmě dáno tím, že odborníci chápou, jaký má předchozí trénink význam pro dosažený výsledek. Široká veřejnost sportovní výsle-dek oceňuje nejvíce, což ukazuje na dvě věci-a prvé, média sice mohou tvořit veřejné mínění, ale na širokou veřejnost mají malý vliv; za druhé, výsledky jsou hod-noceny zejména na emocionální bázi, zahrnující cestu k úspěchu, ne pouze okamžik dosažení výsledku. Lidé očividně touží po „velkých příbězích“ a jejich „hrdi-nech“, avšak média nejsou schopna tyto příběhy lidem prezentovat.

A sports result fulfils its true goal only after monitoring the public and its response, and thus the result acquires additional important dimensions. The significance of a sports result is most often evaluated intuitively and on the basis of emotional reactions and beliefs about its importance on a national and not the worldwide level. An analysis of the evaluation of an elite sports result, achieved at the most important competitions, reveals that various types of public value sports results differently. A sports result is significantly more appreciated by the general and expert public, whilst journalists appreciate it the least. The latter strive to remain objective even when reporting about a one off event, such as major sports event; nevertheless, at the same time they do not sufficiently recognise that an important achievement is the product of a long term training process. The expert public appreciates a competitive sports result more than journalists; presumably, this is a result of the understanding of the importance of the prior training process for the competition achievement. The general public appreciates a sports result the most, which indicates two things – firstly, although media can create public opinion, it has a small influence on the general public; secondly, the results are appreciated mostly on an emotional basis, caused by the road to success and not only by the moment of the achievement of success. Obviously people long for "stories" as well as for "heroes". Thus far the media has not been able to provide these stories for the public.
