The further development of coal mining in different countries and in India is connected with many problems. Very serious are emission of gas, sudden outbursts of gas and coal, mine fires, dustiness, ...spontaneous combustion, methane concentration. The article deals with these problems solving. It describes the new method applied in coal mines in the Czech Republic that has brought very good results.

The article deals with the principle of using gyrotheodolite in connection and orientation measurements. It describes orientation measurements with gyrotheodolite, provides basic information about ...the device and explains how it works. The first part describes gyrotheodolite and methods of determining astronomical true north. The workflow for measurement and subsequent data processing is described below. In the second part, two orientation measurements are described and processed. Finally, the accuracy achieved and the possibility to use the device for activities other than mine measurement are assessed.
The aim of this survey was to compare total mercury (THg) in canned fish in terms of species and fishing area. A number of 110 samples of canned fish, which were divided by fish species and fishing ...area, were analysed. The highest THg content in muscle tissue was found in the escolar. In other fish species, the highest level was detected in tuna. Mercury content in tuna differed significantly from mackerel, sardine, and sprat. Mercury content in herring differed significantly from sprat. The order of the fish according to their THg content corresponds to their status in the aquatic food chain. A significant difference was also found between fish caught from the closed Mediterranean and Black Sea and fish caught in the open oceans. In terms of THg content, the results of this study indicate good quality of various species of canned fish caught in worldwide locations.
The leaf area index (LAI), defined as the one-sided green leaf area per unit ground area, is used in many numerical weather prediction (NWP) models as an indicator of the vegetation development ...state, which is of paramount importance to characterize land evaporation, photosynthesis, and carbon-uptake processes. LAI is often simply represented by lookup tables, dependent on the vegetation type and seasons. However, global LAI datasets derived from remote sensing observations have more recently become available. These products are based on sensors such as the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) or the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), onboard polar orbiting satellites that can cover the entire globe within typically 3 days and with a spatial resolution of the order of 1 km.We examine the meteorological impact of satellite-derived LAI products on near-surface air temperature and humidity, which comes both from the stomatal transpiration of leaves and from the intercepted water on the surface of leaves, re-evaporating into the atmosphere. Two distinct monthly LAI climatology datasets derived respectively from AVHRR and MODIS sensors are tested. A set of forecasts and data assimilation experiments with the integrated forecasting system of the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts is performed with the monthly LAI climatology datasets as opposed to a vegetation-dependent constant LAI. The monthly LAI is shown to improve the forecasts of near-surface (screen-level) air temperature and relative humidity through its effect on evapotranspiration, with the largest impact obtained over needleleaf forests, crops, and grassland. At longer time-scales, the introduction of the monthly LAI is shown to have a positive impact on the model climate particularly during the boreal spring, where the LAI climatology has a large seasonal cycle.
The main focus of this work is theory of secular stagnation. The first part deals with the formulation of theory of secular stagnation, more concretely with a summary of the main ideas of its ...representatives. This theory implies a decline in the trend component of economic growth rate. I used state space model to test the hypothesis, if there is statistically significant decline in the trend component of economic growth rate. I found statistically significant decline in the trend component of economic growth rate for USA, Japan, UK, France and Canada. These findings are consistent with the theory of secular stagnation.
This thesis describes analysis and optimization of existing heating system aboveground fire sprinkler water tanks. The purpose is to design a heating system so as to achieve optimal operating and ...economic conditions for the operation of heating in winter. I will use available computer software and adhere to the applicable regulations and standards. Using experi-mental methods and computer simulations I will assess the current state of the heating system which in turn will provide an optimizing its use and operation.
