Background and Study Aim. The physical fitness of students is characterized by the level of their abilities development to perform movements of varying complexity. One of the important components in ...the system of movements is coordination skills. The aim of the study is to identify the level of special and general coordination of students majoring in "Choreography" and provide recommendations for the development of coordination skills in the process of studying modern-jazz dance.
Material and Methods. The study involved students of the first and second year of study (n = 10, at the beginning of the study (1 year) age - 17.4 ± 0.7 years) majoring in "Choreography". Tests were used to determine the level of development of general and special coordination skills. The level of coordination readiness at the beginning of training and after three semesters of training was determined. The study was conducted over three semesters (September 2019 - December 2020). Curricula for students’ training do not include the discipline "Physical Education". The development of physical qualities is the task of special subjects in the course of professional training: 16 hours per week. The workload of students in modern-jazz dance was 2 hours a week. Forms of study for a certain period - full-time (70%), online learning (10%), mixed (20%). In September 2019 and in December 2020, the same students passed selected tests.
Results. The following significant changes in increasing the coordination level of the abilities were determined: to control temporal and spatial factors of movements; coordination of movements in combination; vestibular stability; musical-rhythmic coordination (p <0.01). The proposed technique assumes that at the first stage of studying modern jazz dance two, three, four centers are coordinated in simultaneous parallel movement.
Conclusions. The need to improve the curriculum of modern jazz dance, the introduction of additional courses to the educational program in the major "Choreography". The technical and lexical base of modern jazz dance in combination with special physical training provides opportunities for the coordination skills development in choreographers.

Material and Methods. Sixty subjects (age= 21.37+1.40) were divided into two groups namely, Control Group (CG, n=15) and Experimental Group (EG, n=45). The EG was further divided into three different groups based on the different training packages such as Low, Medium, and High-Intensity plyometric training. The .05 level of confidence was fixed as the level of significance to test the ‘F’ ratio obtained by the analysis of covariance, which was considered as appropriate. Plyometric training for a period of eight weeks offered to the participants of the Experimental Group.
Results. The results revealed that various plyometric training programs have produced significant development in improving motor ability components such as speed, leg explosive power, and muscular endurance of the participants (p<.05). The results indicated that high-intensity plyometric training was noticed as superior then low and medium intensity plyometric training in the perspective of the effect of varied packages of plyometric on selected motor ability components among participants.
Conclusion. Keeping in view the utility and importance of plyometric training, we recommended that the exercise protocol used in this study may helpful for the development and improvement of such components to get peak performance in sports.
Background and Study Aim. Training of motor actions of young athletes requires consideration the peculiarities of the sensitive period of their development. An important component of the training ...program is the use of training tools that do not harm the health of young athletes. The purpose of the study is to identify the dynamics of physical training and provide an assessment of technical and tactical techniques of fencers (sword) aged 9-11 years under the influence of the author's program.
Material and methods. The study involved young fencers (n = 20; age 9-11 years). The study lasted one academic year. The training was held in the gym of the children's and youth sports school "Wave" (Kharkiv, Ukraine). Athletes were divided into two uniform groups: control group (n = 10) and experimental group (n = 10). Classes were held according to the author's program 4 times a week for 2 hours. A survey of trainers of trainers (n = 12) and experienced fencers (n = 30) was conducted. Parents of children agreed to participate in the study. The following tests were used: “Standing Long Jump Test (Broad Jump), cm”; “4x9 m Shuttle test, sec.”; "Hits into the target, 30 sec. points"; "Simulation exercises of a simple fencing combination, sec.". The program "Microsoft Excel" Data Analysis, SPSS was used. The level of reliability is selected p <0.05.
Results. Significant changes in the indicators of the control group were obtained: “Standing Long Jump Test (Broad Jump), cm”, (p <0.05); in the test "4x9 m Shuttle test, sec." (p <0.05); both tests have assessment of technical and tactical techniques (p <0.01). In the experimental group, all tests showed positive changes (p <0.01). In comparison of two groups with each other in the tests "Standing Long Jump Test (Broad Jump), cm", "4x9 m Shuttle test, sec." and " Hits into the target, 30 sec. points" there were positive statistically significant changes (p <0.05). In the test "Simulation exercises of a simple fencing combination, sec." no significant changes occurred (p˃0.05).
Conclusions. It is recommended to take into account the effects of exercise on the health of young athletes when designing a fencing training program.
Background and Study Aim. The variability of interpopulation morphofunctional traits in humans is closely related to various environmental factors. However, body composition has a significant ...relationship with indicators of physical fitness, human performance, with its adaptation to environmental conditions. The aim of the work is to investigate ethno-territorial variability of morphological characteristics of students studying at Ukrainian universities. Material and methods. Datum were from cross-sectional surveys since 2014 through 2019. Male students aged 18–25 years old (n = 488) of Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University from different countries were recruited. Anthropometric methods included body length (BH), body weight (BW), chest girth in three states: at maximum, maximum inspiration and rest; skinfolds thicknesses and epiphysis measurements. Somatometric physical development indicators (body mass index - BMI), Kettle’, Pignet’, Livi’ and Erismann’ indexes) were calculated on the basis of these parameters. Body composition (absolute and relative amounts of skeletal, fat and muscle components) were determined using Matiegka formula. Results. It was found that the average growth of students in European countries is higher compared to students from Asia (9-10%) and Africa (3-5%). Reliably significant differences (p <.05) in body weight indicators between all ethnic groups were found. Students from India are characterized by very low levels of relative body fat. Most representatives of Egypt (61.4%) and Jordan (50.9%) are characterized by moderately high fat content. For representatives of all other countries, this figure is within the optimal ratio. Conclusions. The obtained results showed that anthropometric and morphometric indicators of students aged 18-25 change statistically significantly depending on the ethno-territorial factor. Thus, the study of ethnic variability of morphological characteristics is of great importance for the individualization of physical training of students from other countries in higher education institutions of Ukraine.
Background and Study Aim. Choreographic exercises for the development of flexibility are a complex component of training students of the department of folk dance in the specialty "Choreography". ...Among such exercises are exercises of ballet gymnastics, which take into account the specifics of mobility of the joints. The aim of the study was to identify the level of general and special mobility (“en dehors”) in students who are engaged in choreography.
Material and Methods. The study involved students (n = 20) of 1 year of study in the specialty "Choreography" (Faculty of Arts, Department of Folk Dance, H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, Ukraine). The duration of the study is 6 months: from January 2020 to June 2020. The curriculum provides the study of the discipline "Gymnastics in Choreography" (1st year of study, summer semester), a total of 3 credits (including 36 classroom hours). During distance learning (from 13.03.2020 to 31.05.20) students performed a set of exercises independently. Also through video conferences Zoom with a teacher - once a week, lasting 40 minutes.
Results. It was found that students of the department of folk and stage choreography mostly have higher scores. This is due to the presence and complexity of acrobatic elements that are present in folk dances. During the study, there were more significant differences between the indicators in the groups. There was a noticeable development of active flexibility in the girls of the department of folk and stage choreography.
Conclusions. The used test indicators are recommended to be used in classes as control standards. The use of the author's program will ensure the development and maintenance in the proper state of the achieved level of flexibility (“en dehors”). To do this, it is necessary to adhere to the regular use of exercises, taking into account the individual capabilities and abilities of students.
Purpose: to work out complex of health related aerobic exercises with fit-ball for girl students, who have significant risk of backbone pathologies. Material: in the research 1st-3rd year girl ...students (n=50, age – 15-17 years) participated. Questionnaire for assessment of self feeling was used. For diagnostic of backbone mobility we used criterion of functional disorders and trainings effectiveness assessment. The diagnostic included eight tests for every girl student of risk group - Cervical spine mobility, Otta’s test, Chest excursion, Shober’s test, Tomayer’s test, Pavelky’s (left) test, Pavelky’s (right) test and Backbone index. The main research method was pedagogic experiment. Results: it was found that 50% of 1st year girl students have pain in back. Average level of backbone mobility (backbone index) in the tested group was 86.9% from approximate norm at the end of the research. Conclusions: we found that it is possible to prevent from deviations in backbone functional state and preservation of its functional level in fit-ball aerobic trainings. Fit-ball aerobic trainings resulted in confident improvement of indicators of backbone mobility.
Background and Study Aim. To determine the influence of professional training disciplines on the physical fitness level of the folk dance department students.
Material and Methods. The study involved ...students majoring in "Choreography" (males - n = 5; females - n = 10). Tests were used to determine the level of general and special physical qualities development. It was also determined the level of physical fitness at the beginning of training and after two years of training.
Results. At the beginning of the study, students had average and low rates of speed and strength qualities development and low indicators of dorsal spine mobility. There were significant changes in increasing the level of coordination and dorsal spine mobility (p <0.01). The increase in average statistical indicators of strength endurance is in males (p <0.05) and females (p <0.01). It was revealed the decrease in the level of certain indicators of general physical fitness in females during the first two years of study.
Conclusions. It is recommended to constantly monitor the physical fitness of future choreographers. The exclusion of the discipline "Physical Education" from the training programs for choreography teachers requires appropriate compensation for specific physical activity. These can be students’ independent physical training. It also requires the correction of special training programs that include physical activity.

Purpose. To work out and experimentally test the effectiveness of tactical training means and methods in the initial stages of student- fencers’ accelerated training. Methods. In the experiment 2nd ...year students from two academic groups at the university (n=50) participated. In their first year students undertook fencing training twice a week (2 hours per session). The first group (n=24) was an experimental group (EG), the second (n=26) the control (CG). At the beginning of the experiment the technical-tactic fitness of the students in both groups was approximately equal. The experiment lasted 7 months. All the students gave their written consent to participate in the experiment. Results. It was found that the exercises for distant manoeuvring, for non-defensive duels and for combat actions accelerate the formation of a personal combat style where the coach’s instructions are accurately carried out. They also motivate sportspeople to achieve the correct execution of techniques. It was also found that a fencer’s tactical thinking is formed and becomes a special combat skill where they are applied in relevant duel conditions. These requirements can be satisfied by athletes only after special training. We worked out exercises, which reflect almost the entire spectrum of tactical training for fencers. Conclusions. We have proposed a particular suite of fencing exercises to improve tactical thinking, and to expand the arsenal of combat actions as well as the circle of combat situations, preparatory actions, attacks and defences; behaviour in unexpected situations and sense of distance.
