    月表面において、クレータや崖などは地殻が露出していると考えられるため月の起源を探ることができ科学的関心が非常に高く、将来のローバミッションではこのような険しい地形の移動探査が要求されている。そのため、次世代のローバには走行性能の向上とともに、走行性能の正確な予測、自律性の向上などが求められる。月の表面には軟弱で滑りやすいレゴリスが堆積しており、走行に伴う路面の変形により生じる反力が小さく、車輪の回転により路面を掘ってしまい走行できなくなる現象、スタックも発生しやすい。そこで、本論文では月表面上に多く堆積する”軟弱地盤上における探査ローバの走行”に焦点を当て、地盤と走行系(車輪、弾性柔軟車輪、クローラなど)の間に発生する相互作用力(地盤の締め固め効果やスリップ率にて表現)を実験的に求め、軟弱地盤走行に有効な走行系の検証を行う。
