Learning is an important process in the intellectual maturation and socialization of a person. It is determined by numerous components, the most important being cognition, motivation and emotions. As ...modern teaching requires an active role of students in the learning process, a key element for successful learning is quality teaching. Teachers' main challenge is how to arouse interest among students for the educational field. Thereby, teaching should be based on the choice of approaches and procedures. In this paper were discussed effective strategies and forms of learning in the teaching of the Croatian language at the lower level of primary education, in the classroom teaching. The Croatian language is a complex teaching subject, so the functional teaching of language and literature requires the purposefulness of methods and forms of work. We monitored the applicability of collaborative, experiential and self-regulated learning. Attached are various creative procedures in the early stages of language learning, and offer guidelines for working with students in the classroom. It is important to facilitate situations in which students will become aware of their learning process and make decisions about how to achieve the planned learning outcomes ang goals.
Učenje je važan proces u intelektualnom sazrijevanju i socijalizaciji ličnosti, a određuju ga brojne komponente među kojima su najvažnije kognicija, motivacija i emocije. Kako suvremena nastava ...zahtijeva aktivnu ulogu učenika u procesu učenja, ključni element za uspješno učenje jest kvalitetno poučavanje. Učiteljima je glavni izazov kako pobuditi interes među učenicima za obrazovno područje, stoga se poučavanje treba temeljiti na izboru primjerenih pristupa i postupaka. U ovom radu raspravljalo se o učinkovitim strategijama i oblicima učenja u nastavi Hrvatskoga jezika na nižem stupnju primarnoga obrazovanja, u razrednoj nastavi. Hrvatski jezik složen je nastavni predmet, stoga funkcionalna nastava jezika i književnosti zahtijeva svrhovitost metoda i oblika rada. Motrili smo primjenjivost suradničkoga, iskustvenoga i samoreguliranoga učenja. Priloženi su različiti kreativni postupci u ranoj fazi učenja jezika te ponuđene smjernice za rad s učenicima u razrednoj nastavi. Važno je učenicima omogućiti situacije u kojima će osvijestiti svoj proces učenja i preuzeti odluke o tome kako će ostvariti planirane ishode i ciljeve učenja.
Medical history of the city of Rijeka is a rich treasure trove of events, celebrities and valuable innovations in the field of healthcare. The historical development of Rijeka was largely determined ...by her geopolitical position as a border town with a multicultural population, marked by strong conflicts of interest and numerous identity turmoil. The great exodus of the domicile population of Italian nationality after World War II has significantly changed the social picture of the city. Among many of such esuli (immigrants) were brothers Giovanni (b. 1932) and Abdon (b. 1933) Pamich, whose lives are reminiscent of the fate of many displaced people from Rijeka who were forced to live in exile after the war. After leaving their hometown during the formative years of their childhood, they had successful careers in Italy in the fields of medicine and healthcare. The older brother Giovanni became a successful surgeon and the younger Abdon a psychologist. Along with his positions as the head of general surgery at the Monfalcone and Gorizia Hospitals, Giovanni Pamich was teaching at the University of Trieste. Abdon Pamich collaborated with the best Italian tennis players in the field of sports psychology, and was a psychologist for the Italian handball team. They both practiced athletics, and Abdon Pamich won the silver medal in speed walking at the 1958 European Championships in Sweden and the gold medal at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. In addition to emphasizing the achievements of the two brothers in the field of medicine, this paper also addresses the position of the migrant, which is highlighted in Robert Covaz’s book “Abdon Pamich, memorie di un marciatore (Rome, 2016), an exciting biography of an emigrant from Rijeka. The paper also explores the concept of thematizing the limits of differences and experiences of migration of Rijeka residents facing the existential issues.
Riječka medicinska povjesnica bogata je riznica događaja, znamenitih ličnosti i vrijednih inovacija u području zdravstva. Geopolitički položaj grada granice s višekulturnim stanovništvom uvelike su ...determinirali povijesni razvoj Rijeke, obilježen snažnim sukobima interesa i brojnim identitetskim previranjima. Veliki egzodus domicilnoga stanovništva talijanske nacionalnosti nakon Drugoga svjetskog rata bitno je promijenio socijalnu sliku grada. Među brojnim esulima našli su se Giovanni (1932.) i Abdon Pamich (1933.), braća čiji život podsjeća na sudbinu mnogih raseljenih Riječana koji su po završetku rata bili primorani na život u egzilu. Napustivši rodni grad u formativnim godinama svoga djetinjstva, u Italiji su ostvarili uspješnu karijeru u području medicine i zdravstva. Stariji brat Giovanni postao je uspješan kirurg, a mlađi Abdon psiholog. Osim što je bio šef opće kirurgije u bolnicama Monfalconea i Gorizije, Giovanni Pamich predavao je na Sveučilištu u Trstu. Abdon Pamich je u području sportske psihologije surađivao s ponajboljim talijanskim tenisačicama, a bio je i psiholog rukometne reprezentacije Italije. Obojica su se bavila atletikom. Abdon Pamich je osvojio srebrnu medalju u brzom hodanju na europskom prvenstvu u Švedskoj 1958. i zlatnu medalju na Olimpijskim igrama u Tokiju 1964. Osim postignuća dvojice braće na polju medicine, u ovom se radu problematizira i pozicija emigranta, koja dolazi do izražaja u knjizi Abdon Pamich, memorie di un marciatore (Pordenone, 2016.) Roberta Covaza, uzbudljivoj biografiji riječkoga esula. Istražuje se koncept tematizacije ograničenja razlike i iskustva migracije stanovnika Rijeke suočenih s egzistencijalnim pitanjem.

AbstractThe fundamental task of reading material is to train young readers in aesthetic communication with literary works. The freedom of choice essentially determines a student's attitude toward ...reading; one should therefore reflect upon the effectiveness of planning and implementation of the existing teaching programs. Literature teaching programs allow for a creative approach to literary works, with the implementation based on principles of modernity and comparability applicable in the higher grades of elementary school. The paper presents the results of a survey conducted among Croatian language teachers from elementary schools in three counties, indicating the need for a change in the existing educational paradigms.The recently awarded novel titled “Dear Oliver” (“Dragi Olivere”, 2012), written by Croatian novelist Mirjana Mrkela, provides a stimulating literary template for an examination of a possibility of combining elective reading and a problem-solving educational curriculum. The Dickens-inspired epistolary novel is a Croatian black-humor version of Oliver Twist. True poetological links are established with Dickens' work as Mirjana Mrkela develops interliterary dialogue and draws parallels between the 19th century and contemporary Croatian reality. With the aim of strengthening the analytical competence of young readers, the author of this paper offers a model for the teaching methodology interpretation of the novel in teaching literature to seventh grade students. In the problem-solving educational approach, students acquire an active role and develop their creative potential along with critical thinking skills. The novel, rich with elements of child activism and adventures, can positively influence children's literary education.Key words: children's literature; principle of contemporaneity; problem-oriented learning; required reading; classroom interpretation. --- SažetakTemeljna zadaća školske lektire jest osposobljavanje mladih čitatelja za estetsku komunikaciju s književnim djelom. Sloboda izbora bitno određuje učenički odnos prema čitanju, stoga valja promišljati o učinkovitosti planiranja i realizaciji postojećih programskih sadržaja. Problemska nastava književnosti omogućuje stvaralački pristup literarnom djelu, a interpretacija utemeljena na načelima suvremenosti i komparativnosti primjenjiva je u višim razredima osnovne škole. U tekstu su prikazani rezultati istraživanja provedenog među nastavnicima Hrvatskoga jezika osnovnih škola triju županija, o recepciji romana Oliver Twist, Charlesa Dickensa, koji upućuju na potrebu za promjenom postojeće nastavne paradigme. U tom kontekstu nagrađeni roman Dragi Olivere (2012), hrvatske književnice Mirjane Mrkela, nadaje se kao poticajan literarni predložak za propitivanje mogućnosti kombiniranja izborne lektire s problemskim nastavnim sustavom. Epistolarni roman inspiriran je popularnim Dickensovim djelom, a poetološkim poveznicama Mirjana Mrkela razvija međuknjiževni dijalog te povlači paralele između 19. stoljeća i suvremene hrvatske stvarnosti. Autor teksta navodi model metodičke interpretacije romana u nastavi književnosti za 7. razred osnovne škole, s ciljem jačanja analitičkih kompetencija mladih čitatelja. U problemskom sustavu učenik dobiva aktivnu ulogu razvijajući svoj kreativni potencijal i sposobnost kritičkoga promišljanja. Ključne riječi: dječja književnost; lektira; načelo suvremenosti; problemska nastava; školska interpretacija.
Nei testi letterari degli anni 1945–1956 che parlano dell’esodo degli italiani dalla città di Fiume il motivo del confine diventa il simbolo della conservazione di un’identità nazionale divisa. Al ...contempo, il tema della terra natale perduta lega direttamente la letteratura fiumana a quella mondiale coeva. In questo testo si propone un’analisi della letteratura della migrazione italofona e della questione dell’esodo dalla sponda orientale dell’Adriatico; in particolare, sarà osservato il costituirsi di identità individuali e di gruppo attraverso l’esperienza letteraria di convivenza propria della città di Rijeka (la Fiume di un tempo). Punto focale dell’analisi sarà il multiculturalismo nella scrittura di Osvaldo Ramous (1905–1981), autore che rappresenta la continuità della letteratura italiana autoctona di Fiume, i cui scritti portano la testimonianza dei traumi storici che hanno segnato il destino dei suoi concittadini. Attraverso una lettura critica del romanzo Il cavallo di cartapesta (1969) si tenterà un esame della dimensione estetica e sociologica dell’interpretazione delle doppie identità di questa città di frontiera, cosa che, nel contesto di un’Europa contemporanea senza confini interni, rende attuale la questione della tolleranza verso l’altro. di confine, storia, identità repressa, rapporti letterari italo-croati, la questione adriatica.

Kulturu čitanja oblikuje niz individualno i društveno određenih čimbenika koji proizlaze i iz kulturne tradicije neke sredine zbog čega je status knjige neodvojiv od cjelokupnoga vrijednosnoga ...sustava pojedinoga društva. Učitelj materinskoga jezika ključna je figura u procesu literarnoga sazrijevanja buduće čitateljske publike, a njegova je uloga otežana društvenim promjenama u današnjem »računalnom« svijetu gdje su položaj čitatelja i knjige bitno izmijenjeni u odnosu na ne tako davnu prošlost. Ne možemo u svemu kriviti digitalne medije, pa tako ni za smanjeni interes učenika za čitanje knjiga. U ovom radu raspravljat će se o složenosti obrazovnoga područja, o kulturi čitanja u novonastalom online okruženju te o promjenama koje donosi aktualni predmetni kurikul za Hrvatski jezik. Kritički će se razmotriti prednosti i nedostatci uporabe informacijsko-komunikacijske tehnologije u odgojno-obrazovnome procesu te ponuditi smjernice za funkcionalnu primjenu mrežnih alata i gotovih aplikacija u nastavi Hrvatskoga jezika. Dječje je odrastanje usko povezano s digitalizacijom i društvenim mrežama čiji utjecaj ne mora biti negativan, samo ga treba funkcionalno iskoristiti i usmjeriti pozornost neupitnom potencijalu dobre knjige. Istaknut će se (ne)opravdanost obvezne školske lektire i problem neuvažavanja čitateljskih interesa učenika mlađe školske dobi. U radu će biti ponuđen metodički predložak za interpretaciju lektirnoga naslova uz primjenu kreativnih mrežnih alata.
The culture of reading is shaped by a number of individually and socially determined factors arising from the cultural tradition of a given environment, making the status of books inseparable from the entire value system of a given society. The teacher of the native tongue is a key figure in the process of literary maturation of the future reading public; the role of the teacher is hindered by social changes in the modern “digital” world, in which the position of the reader and the book are now significantly different than in the recent past. Digital media cannot be solely blamed for the reduced interest of pupils in reading books. This paper will discuss the complexity of the field of education, the culture of reading in the new online environment, and changes brought by the current Croatian language subject curriculum. The advantages and disadvantages of using IT technologies in educational processes will be critically examined; guidelines will also be offered for the functional implementation of internet tools and ready-made applications in Croatian language teaching. Children’s upbringing is closely tied to digitalisation and social networks, the influence of which are not necessarily negative; this influence must simply be used functionally to direct attention towards the unquestionable potential of good books. The justification (or lack thereof) for required reading will be noted, as will the problem of disregarding the reading interests of young pupils. The paper will offer a methodical contribution for the interpretation of required reading titles through the implementation of creative online tools.
Povijesni image višekulturne Rijeke potvrđuje činjenica kako su mnogi znameniti Riječani
pripadnici različitih nacionalnosti. Život Erika Via (1910.–1996.), priznatoga kirurga svjetskoga
glasa, ...podsjeća na sudbinu mnogih raseljenih Riječana koji su odabrali život u egzilu.
Po završetku studija u Rimu Vio gotovo tri desetljeća obavlja liječnički poziv u Hong
Kongu. Postavlja se pitanje: bira li riječki kirurg život u Hong Kongu jer ga podsjeća na rodni
grad? Korijene navedene teze autor nalazi u Viovu romanu Stranputice slobode (Irwege
der Freiheit, Köln, 1978), specifičnoj liječničko-filozofskoj dijagnozi duhovnoga stanja današnje
civilizacije. Rijetki ulomci posvećeni Rijeci svjedoče koliko je Vio zapravo distanciran
– suočen s vlastitim identitetom, ali i s drugima s kojima je dijelio životni prostor, riječki je
liječnik postao pravi građanin svijeta, ali i apatrid bez vlastitih korijena. Kroz projekciju
Hong Konga iščitava se identifikacijska okosnica romana, piščeva provokacija ideološke
perspektive socio-kulturnih odnosa. Interpretacijom romana Stranputice slobode nastoji se
ispitati sociološka dimenzija literarizacije dvojnih identiteta u prostoru granice. To aktualizira
i pitanje drugosti, odnosno snošljivosti prema drugome.
The fact that many famous denizens of Rijeka belong to different nationalities confirms this city's historic multicultural image. The life story of Erik Vio (1910-1966), renowned surgeon of ...international reputation, reflects the fate of many displaced residents of Rijeka who left to live in exile. After graduating in Rome, Vio worked as a medical doctor in Hong Kong for almost three decades. The question is weather a surgeon from Rijeka chose to live in Hong Kong because it reminded him of his hometown? The author finds the root of this thesis in Vio's novel The Pathways of Freedom (˝Irwege der Freiheit˝, Köln 1978), a particular medical-philosophic diagnosis of the contemporary civilization's spiritual state. Rare fragments dedicated to Rijeka confirm Vio's actual detachment; faced with his own identity, but also with the others' with whom he shared his living space, a surgeon from Rijeka became a true citizen of the world and at the same time a stateless person with no roots of his own. Through the projection of Hong Kong one can detect the novel's identification backbone: writer's provocation of the ideological perspective on socio-cultural relations. By engaging in the interpretation of Vio's The Pathways of Freedom the author seeks to dissect a sociological dimension of descriptions of dual identities in border space. This leads to the issue of understanding and tolerance toward the others.
