Computer hardware and software are resources without which the modern business of any organization, from manufacturing to services, is impossible. Not enough attention is being payed to maintenance ...of computer systems as an aspect of business. This paper gives some recommendations for the selection of the computer systems maintenance approach, based on many years of experience maintaining these systems at the University of Zenica.

Activism in Hard Times in Central and Eastern Europe elevates the voices of civic activists from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and analyzes a wealth of information to generate new insights into ...how activism in the region manages to be vibrant, diverse, and consequential. Because of these countries’ unique historical trajectory, CEE activists have, in important ways, leap-frogged their counterparts in the West. Giving special attention to activists in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Hungary, Poland, Russia, and Ukraine, the book focuses on responses to the recent “hard times” – the shrinking of public space for civil society, democratic backsliding, polarization, and Russia’s war in Ukraine. The contributors contend that CEE activists provide important lessons for others confronting similar challenges around the world. The book is well-suited for a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, such as comparative politics, human rights, global governance, social movements, Central and East European politics, and contemporary world politics. This timely and readable book, co-created by academics and activists and written in a conversational tone, will also be of interest to the interested public and practitioners. The book encourages readers to think differently about the role of civil society and activism, as well as about how new tools and polarizing dynamics affect activism in this region. Cold forming is characterized by a number of advantages which are mainly result of material strengthening during the final workpiece formation. Effects of material strengthening are reflected in ...shaping accuracy and in improving mechanical characteristics of workpieces. Flow forming is one of the specific forming methods used to form different parts of rotationally symmetrical parts in military, aeronautical, nuclear and other industries, which uses positive effects of the material strengthening. Design of products for extremely demanding industries, in addition to dimensional control, requires checking the accuracy of their circular shape. This paper, through the example of making tubular workpieces from Al 99.5% using flow forming technology, presents a method for determining the workpiece roundness using a 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine and analyzes the influence of number of revolutions, shift and the deformation rate to the deviation of roundness.
Information is the key asset of all organizations and can exist in many forms. It can be printed or written on paper, stored electronically, transmitted by mail or by electronic means, shown in ...films, or spoken in conversation. In today's competitive business environment, such information is constantly under threat from many sources, which can be internal, external, accidental, or malicious. Joomla is a very popular Content Management System (CMS) used for web page maintenance. This highly versatile software has found itself in both large corporate web portals, and simple web pages such as blogs. Such popularity increases its vulnerability to potential attacks and therefore needs an appropriate security management. ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) and IEC (the International Electrotechnical Commission) created the series of standards aimed at providing a model for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS). This paper shows how principles set in ISO/IEC 27000 series of standards can be used to improve security of Joomla based web portals.
Distributed and collaborative computer-aided design (CAD) environments include building information modeling (BIM) and geographical information systems (GISs) in civil engineering and architecture, ...or product data management/product life cycle management (PDM/PLM) in mechanical engineering. It is essential to keep the data integrity in these computer applications as it contributes to buildingusers’ confidence in CAD/BIM/PDM data. Blockchain technology, the core foundation of cryptocurrencies, is increasingly being used for other purposes and could solve the data integrity issue in collaborative CAD environments. However, it has some disadvantages such as the transparency of data and the slowness of storing data in the blockchain due to distributed consensus. Increasing demand by the Industry 4.0, IoT, Smart Cities, and other initiatives could foster the best what blockchain has to offer: data integrity, reliability, and traceability. This chapter explains how blockchain works, how can it be utilized in distributed CAD environments, what are the major challenges for implementation, and how CAD vendors could use it to increase CAD data integrity.

Three dimensional measurement of complex geometry with Coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) requires multiple clamping and fixturing of measured object. In order to speed-up this process and to ...reduce the number of fixturing operations, a robotic arm can be used to manipulate the measured object. This paper describes measurement uncertainty analysis of an improved complex measurement system consisting of robotic arm and the coordinate measuring machine.
This paper deals with combination of two modern engineering methods in order to optimise the shape of a representative casting product. The product being analysed is a sling, which is used to attach ...pulling rope in timber transportation. The first step was 3D modelling and static stress/strain analysis using CAD/CAE software NX4. The slinger shape optimization was performed using Traction method, by means of software Optishape-TS. To define constraints for shape optimization, FEA software FEMAP was used. The mould pattern with optimized 3D shape was then prepared using Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) Rapid prototyping method. The sling mass decreased by 20%, while signifficantly better stress distribution was achieved, with maximum stress 3.5 times less than initial value. The future researches should use 3D scanning technology in order to provide more accurate 3D model of initial part. Results of this research can be used by toolmakers in order to engage FEA/RP technology to design and manufacture lighter products with acceptable stress distribution.
Coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) are widely used to check dimensions of manufactured parts, especially in automotive industry. The major obstacles in automation of these measurements are ...fixturing and clamping assemblies, which are required in order to position the measured object within the CMM. This paper describes how an industrial robot can be used to manipulate the measured object within the CMM work space, in order to enable automation of complex geometry measurement.
In order to decrease the measuring cycle time on the coordinate measuring machine (CMM) a robot workstation for the positioning of measuring objects was created. The application of a simple 5-axis ...industrial robot enables the positioning of the objects within the working space of CMM and measuring of different surfaces on the same object without human intervention. In this article an upgrade of an existing robot workstation through different design measures is shown. The main goal of this upgrade is to improve the measuring accuracy of the complex robot-CMM system.
