Acanthopagrus schlegelii is a warm temperate demersal fish, which inhabits the sediment substrate or rocky reefs in shallow seas. As this fish is a nutritionally endowed species with good ...palatability, it is a highly valuable commercial species for aquaculture and has a long historical standing in Western Pacific countries. Because the population of this fish is currently declining in China, studies and measures aimed at addressing this decline are needed. In this study, eight microsatellite markers were screened from 30 wild A. schlegelii fishes through the FIASCO method, whereby sequences containing repeats were obtained from amplified fragment length polymorphisms. The allelic number ranged from 3 to 5, with a mean number of 3.625. The average observed heterozygosity was 0.6290, ranging from 0.3214 to 0.8966, while the expected heterozygosity was 0.5435, ranging from 0.3452 to 0.6721. The value for polymorphism information content ranged from 0.313 to 0.666. These results show this population has moderate genetic variation and low genetic diversity. These novel polymorphic loci will be useful for future genetic studies of A. schlegelii.
Ruditapes philippinarum is considered a commercially valuable species, which is commonly found in tidal flats along West Pacific coasts. In China, it is mainly distributed in the southeast sea. In ...this study, 16 novel microsatellite loci from the R. philippinarum genome were developed, using the protocol of fast isolation by amplified fragment length polymorphism of sequence containing repeats. Thirty-two wild-caught individuals were used to evaluate the degree of polymorphism of these markers. Our results show that there were 10 polymorphic loci and 6 monomorphic loci. The number of alleles per locus and the polymorphism information content ranged from 2 to 6 and from 0.199 to 0.751, respectively. The observed and expected heterozygosities varied from 0.1333 to 0.6207 and 0.1603 to 0.7412, respectively. Of all loci, only one locus was found to deviate significantly from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium after Bonferroni correction. The loci identified here will provide useful information for future population genetic studies of R. philippinarum.
Rabbitfish, Siganus fuscescens, is widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific regions and eastern Mediterranean. Its dwelling place includes reef flats, coral reef regions, and seagrass meadows in ...tropical area and reef areas or shallow waters in locations at high latitudes. In the present study, 10 new polymorphic microsatellite markers were screened from 30 wild S. fuscescens individuals, using a method of fast isolation protocol and amplified fragment length polymorphism of sequences containing repeats. The number of polymorphic alleles per locus was 3 to 5 with a mean of 4.3, while the value of polymorphic information content ranged from 0.283 to 0.680. The values of the observed and expected heterozygosities were in the range 0.3333-0.8462 and 0.3011-0.7424, respectively. Deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium was not observed in this study. These polymorphic loci are expected to be effective in evaluating the genetic diversity, population structure, and gene flow and in determining the paternity in S. fuscescens, as well as for conservation management.
The present study shows that magnesium and aluminium light alloys have been widely utilised in lightweight automotive applications, which is an important future research direction of energy ...conservation and environmental protection for automobile. In this study, Mg/Al bimetallic composite consisting of AZ91D magnesium alloy and ZL105 alumina alloy was fabricated by compound casting. The results prove that Mg/Al bimetallic composites can be successfully fabricated by liquid-solid compound casting. The structure of interfacial transition zone is made up of three different zones, i.e. Al-side transition zone, interfacial intermediate zone and Mg-side transition zone and α-Al, γ-Al

Si and δ-Mg are the main specific composition of these zones. Bending strengths of pouring temperature from 620 to 700°C are different, while the maximal bending strength is 23·06 MPa under pouring temperature of 680°C.
Male sterility of wheat-breeding line 337S (Triticum aestivum L.) is sensitive to both short day-length/low temperature and long day-length/high temperature. 337S was crossed with the common wheat ...variety, Huamai No. 8 and the F1 was highly fertile. The F2 population segregated in a 15:1 ratio for fertility/sterility in 243 individuals under long day-length/high-temperature. The two thermophotoperiod-responsive male sterile genes were mapped to chromosomes 5B and 2B using Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) markers and bulked segregant analysis. Partial linkage maps around the sterility loci of chromosomes 2B and 5B were constructed using the 243 individuals in the F2 population. One gene (wptms1) for male sterility was flanked by the SSR markers Xgwm335 and Xgwm371 at a genetic distance in chromosome 5B of 4.1 and 24.4 cM, respectively. The second gene (wptms2) was mapped between markers Xgwm374 and Xgwm120 at a genetic distance of 6.6 and 20.9 cM, respectively. The closest linked markers Xgwm335 (wptms1) and Xgwm374 (wptms2) explained 53 and 38% of phenotypic variation for the fertility. The SSR markers provide a useful tool to transfer the male sterile genes into elite wheat germplasm.
CoPt/Ag nanocomposite films have been prepared by magnetron sputtering and subsequent annealing. The effect of Ag on the structure and magnetic properties of CoPt/Ag nanocomposite films was ...investigated. It was found that the existence of the Ag plays a dominant role in inducing the (001) texture of the film. (001) textured CoPt/Ag nanocomposite films with a large perpendicular coercivity in the range of 5.6–7.0 kOe have been achieved after annealing at 600 °C. The Cu additive is very effective to reduce the ordering temperature in CoPtAg system. With Cu additive, the CoPtCuAg films start ordering at a lower annealing temperature of 450 °C, which is lower by 150 °C than the pure CoPtAg films.
A 2-level condensate of spin-1 Na atoms under a magnetic field

Therefore, the inherent dynamic parameters of the condensate can be known via the measurement of the population. The experimental condition that such a system can exist has been evaluated. Furthermore, there is a characteristic constant

According to the observed daily maximum temperature data from 756 climate stations in China during 1961-2015, the frequency, intensity, impacted area, and population exposure of the large scale ...heatwaves (HWs) are calculated by the Intensity-Area-Duration method. During 1961-2015, averagely 24.6 HWs happened every year with an average intensity of 34.4°C, impacting 4.71 million km2, around 49.1% of the territory of China. In 2000s, the HW frequency and impacted area have increased by 1.5 times and the intensity has increased by 0.3°C. The largest population exposure is in Central China. There are three stable high value centers of population exposure in China: Northwest China, Central China and North China. The northwest high-value-center is almost stable and isolated. As the north and central high-value-centers are becoming larger, they are likely to merge into one. In 2013, the abnormally strong and stable western Pacific subtropical high and the equally stable Qinghai-Tibet high are the main reasons for the severest HWs in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Moreover, North China has started to be invaded by HWs. At the same time, the expansion of the central and north HW centers may involve more populated and developed areas with the threat of HWs. These will affect the social stability, the human health and sustainable development of the national economy.
In order to study the mechanical properties of large diameter CFST column-beam connection after earthquake, axial compression test was carried out on the connection specimens that experienced low ...cycle reversed loading. The failure shapes, ultimate bearing capacities and strains characteristics of the connection were investigated. The results show that the improved interior diaphragm CFST column-H-shaped steel beam joints show waist drum failure modes. The column-beam joints still have high axial bearing capacity after cycle reversed loading. The interior diaphragms and linking reinforcing bars effectively restrain the transverse deformation of the steel tube of the connection zone.
