In order to clarify the structure of a singly quantized vortex in a superfluid fermion gas near the Feshbach resonance, we numerically solve the generalized Bogoliubov-de Gennes equation in the ...boson-fermion model. The superfluid gap, which contains contributions from both condensed fermion pairs and condensed bosons, is self-consistently determined, and the quasiparticle excitation levels bound in the vortex core are explicitly shown. We find that the boson condensate contributes to enhance the matter density depletion and the discreteness of localized quasiparticle spectrum inside the core. It is predicted that the matter density depletion and the discrete core levels are detectable in the vicinity of the BCS-Bose-Einstein condensation crossover point.
The Belle II experiment is a new generation B factory experiment at the SuperKEKB electron–positron collider. The main purpose of the experiment is to search for new physics with a large sample of B ...meson decays. The proximity-focusing Aerogel Ring-Imaging Cherenkov detector (ARICH) has been designed to identify kaons and pions in the forward end-cap of the Belle II spectrometer. Using aerogel as radiator with specialized photon sensors called HAPD, the K/π separation is expected to reach more than 4 σ in the momentum range from 0.5 GeV/c to 4.0 GeV/c. ARICH detector was constructed in summer 2017 and was installed in the Belle II spectrometer in the beam line of the SuperKEKB collider. The test of the ARICH detector is performed using both cosmic rays and the beam collisions during the accelerator commissioning. We observe Cherenkov rings in the ARICH detector associated with charged tracks detected by the tracking system. The reconstructed Cherenkov angle distribution has a clear and reasonable peak. The ARICH K∕π separation performance is evaluated using Bhabha events in beam runs; the separation power achieve the design value.
There is limited evidence on methods to allocate budgets to healthcare providers under capitation schemes. The objective of this study was to construct and test models that predict outpatient visits ...and expenditure for each healthcare facility using subscriber data from the preceding year.
We used the database of the Universal Coverage Scheme in Bangkok, Thailand that stores subscriber information and healthcare service utilization data. One-percent and ten-percent random samples of subscribers were selected as training and testing groups, respectively.
Using data of the training group, we constructed a model using a random forest algorithm to predict outpatient visits and expenditure in 2017 from the 2016 data. The model was applied to the testing group and facility-level predicted number of visits and expenditure were compared with actual data.
The identically-structured training and testing groups consisted of 37,259 and 371,650 subscribers, respectively. Approximately 25% of subscribers utilized outpatient services. The R2 for models predicting facility-level utilization rate (visits/subscribers) and expenditure per subscriber in 2017 were 0.85 and 0.75, respectively.
The model to predict outpatient visits and expenditure performed well. Such a prediction model may be useful for allocating budgets to healthcare facilities under capitation systems.

The conventional Ginzburg–Landau (GL) theory is extended to a nonlocal one. In this nonlocal GL theory the superconducting current becomes nonlocal. The magnetic field distribution calculated in the single vortex state indicates that the interaction between vortices has an attractive part in low-κ type II superconductors with κ<κc∼1. The attractive interaction causes the first-order transition at Hc1.

A proximity focusing RICH detector with an aerogel radiator is used for charged particle identification in the forward end-cap of the Belle II spectrometer. The detector, consisting of a 4 cm aerogel ...radiator, a 16 cm expansion volume and a photon detector with 420 Hybrid Avalanche Photo Detectors, is mounted in a very confined space between Central Drift Chamber and Electromagnetic Calorimeter, allowing only 5 cm of space for the readout electronics. In our solution, low power front-end read-out boards are mounted at the back side of each of the HAPD photosensors. These boards have each been tested individually before their installation onto the photosensors and into the spectrometer. Most important design issues and first experiences with the aforementioned front-end read-out boards are presented in this contribution.
The first example of an active layered tantalate photocatalyst containing partly filled lanthanide 4f shell is reported. A single phase of layered perovskite tantalates, RbLnTa2O7, could be obtained ...with Ln = La, Pr, Nd, and Sm; the ionic radii of these trivalent cations are required to be larger than 0.126 nm for constructing a perovskite slab. Under UV irradiation from a high-pressure Hg lamp, these layered tantalates demonstrated the photocatalytic activity for water splitting into stoichiometric H2/O2 mixtures even without loading metal catalysts. The rates of H2 and O2 evolutions were found to be strongly dependent on the lanthanoids, increasing in the sequence of La ≑ Pr ≪ Sm < Nd. The maximum rate of H2 evolution observed over RbNdTa2O7 reached 47.0 μmol/h. The absorption spectrum of RbNdTa2O7 consists of the internal 4f transitions in the visible region and a broad band overlapping the band-gap transition in the UV region. The latter band indicates that a possible excitation process including the partly filled 4f shell plays a key role in photocatalytic reactions. Loading 0.5 wt % Ni onto RbNdTa2O7 by simple impregnation significantly improved H2 evolution (117.2 μmol/h).
