Uma educação voltada para a reflexão, para o trabalho em grupo e a aprendizagem significativa, utiliza metodologias ativas visando valorizar o desenvolvimento de habilidades cognitivas e sociais. ...Integrantes do conjunto de metodologias ativas, as atividades decorrentes deram origem a construção de narrativas e portfolio que são estratégias de ensino voltadas à promoção de aprendizagem significativa e suas utilizações perpassam por todos os níveis de ensino. Essa estratégia de ensino pode gerar registros importantes para avaliação da aprendizagem. Objetivos: descrever a prática pedagógica desenvolvida na disciplina Currículo e Ensino na Saúde na perspectiva discente sobre o uso de estratégias ativas de ensino e aprendizagem. Métodos: análise documental dos registros feitos pelos discentes do Programa de pós-graduação Mestrado Profissional Ensino na Saúde, que cursaram a disciplina Currículo e Ensino na Saúde, sobre a prática pedagógica desenvolvida na referida disciplina. Resultados: análise documental dos registros feitos pelos discentes que cursaram a disciplina Currículo e Ensino na Saúde revelaram que houve inovação e reflexão sobre suas práticas profissionais. A análise das percepções discentes mostrou que a utilização de metodologias ativas possibilitou a construção do conhecimento e tornou o aprendizado mais significativo. Foi possível aferir nas narrativas sobre o uso dessas metodologias, que o trabalho de elaboração dos registros das atividades, ora de forma individual, ora de forma coletiva, contribuíram para um olhar ampliado sobre planejamento curricular, PPC, prática docente, protagonismo discente e gerando inovação na disciplina. Conclusão. O planejamento na disciplina favoreceu a metodologia de ensino, contribuiu para uma aprendizagem significativa e para a formação de profissionais mais críticos e reflexivos, especialmente, aos que atuavam na docência, estimulou maior participação e engajamento na disciplina e favoreceu à aprendizagem discente.

We experimentally demonstrate resonance of first-order vector vortex beams (VVB) with a triangular optical cavity. We also show that, due to their symmetry properties, the VVBs commonly known as ...radial and azimuthal beams do not resonate at the same cavity length, which could be explored to use the triangular resonator as a mode sorter. In addition, an intracavity Pancharatnam phase shifter (PPS) is implemented in order to compensate for any birefringent phase that the cavity mirrors may introduce.
CoronaVac, an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, has been approved for emergency use in several countries. However, its immunogenicity in immunocompromised individuals has not been well established. We ...initiated a prospective phase 4 controlled trial (no. NCT04754698, CoronavRheum) in 910 adults with autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARD) and 182 age- and sex-frequency-matched healthy adults (control group, CG), who received two doses of CoronaVac. The primary outcomes were reduction of ≥15% in both anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG seroconversion (SC) and neutralizing antibody (NAb) positivity 6 weeks (day 69 (D69)) after the second dose in the ARD group compared with that in the CG. Secondary outcomes were IgG SC and NAb positivity at D28, IgG titers and neutralizing activity at D28 and D69 and vaccine safety. Prespecified endpoints were met, with lower anti-SARS-Cov-2 IgG SC (70.4 versus 95.5%, P < 0.001) and NAb positivity (56.3 versus 79.3%, P < 0.001) at D69 in the ARD group than in the CG. Moreover, IgG titers (12.1 versus 29.7, P < 0.001) and median neutralization activity (58.7 versus 64.5%, P = 0.013) were also lower at D69 in patients with ARD. At D28, patients with ARD presented with lower IgG frequency (18.7 versus 34.6%, P < 0.001) and NAb positivity (20.6 versus 36.3%, P < 0.001) than that of the CG. There were no moderate/severe adverse events. These data support the use of CoronaVac in patients with ARD, suggesting reduced but acceptable short-term immunogenicity. The trial is still ongoing to evaluate the long-term effectiveness/immunogenicity.
Brazil has experienced an unprecedented epidemic of Zika virus (ZIKV), with ~30,000 cases reported to date. ZIKV was first detected in Brazil in May 2015, and cases of microcephaly potentially ...associated with ZIKV infection were identified in November 2015. We performed next-generation sequencing to generate seven Brazilian ZIKV genomes sampled from four self-limited cases, one blood donor, one fatal adult case, and one newborn with microcephaly and congenital malformations. Results of phylogenetic and molecular clock analyses show a single introduction of ZIKV into the Americas, which we estimated to have occurred between May and December 2013, more than 12 months before the detection of ZIKV in Brazil. The estimated date of origin coincides with an increase in air passengers to Brazil from ZIKV-endemic areas, as well as with reported outbreaks in the Pacific Islands. ZIKV genomes from Brazil are phylogenetically interspersed with those from other South American and Caribbean countries. Mapping mutations onto existing structural models revealed the context of viral amino acid changes present in the outbreak lineage; however, no shared amino acid changes were found among the three currently available virus genomes from microcephaly cases. Municipality-level incidence data indicate that reports of suspected microcephaly in Brazil best correlate with ZIKV incidence around week 17 of pregnancy, although this correlation does not demonstrate causation. Our genetic description and analysis of ZIKV isolates in Brazil provide a baseline for future studies of the evolution and molecular epidemiology of this emerging virus in the Americas.
