BSTRACT
Purpose:
The aim of the in vitro study was to compare the internal merge and marginal perfection of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) and polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) crowns under a ...stereomicroscope.
Methods:
All-ceramic preparation is done on the maxillary first premolar which is mounted on the wax block which was scanned using 3Shape scanner and duplicated into 30 acrylic CAD/CAM dies (
n
= 15) for the placement of PEEK and PEKK crowns. The YENADENT milling system was used to fabricate 15 samples from Group A PEEK crowns and to fabricate 15 samples from Group B PEKK crowns. According to the manufacturer’s instructions, an equal amount of the dual-cure resin luting agent (Rely X U200 Self-Adhesive resin, 3M, Germany) was dispensed on the mixing pad before being mixed with cement and painted on the internal surfaces of the copings with the finger pressure crowns which were luted. The values were then analyzed using one-way ANOVA (post hoc) followed by Dunnett’s
t
-test.
Results:
Among those two groups, PEEK group materials showed the lowest mean value of (28.73.3 ± 4.01) for marginal fit and (26.72 ± 2.53) for internal gap, whereas PEKK group showed a mean value of (32.85 ± 4.63) and (33.06 ± 4.14), respectively.
Conclusion:
Among these two groups, comparatively less marginal fit and internal adaptation is seen in PEKK when compared to the PEEK crowns. While the marginal fit and internal adaptation of both PEEK and PEKK copings were in acceptable clinical range.

BSTRACT
Artificial intelligence (AI) is an emerging tool in modern medicine and the digital world. AI can help dentists diagnose oral diseases, design treatment plans, monitor patient progress and ...automate administrative tasks. The aim of this study is to evaluate the perception and attitude on use of artificial intelligence in dentistry for diagnosis and treatment planning among dentists and non-dentists’ population of south Tamil Nadu region in India.
Materials and Methods:
A cross sectional online survey conducted using 20 close ended questionnaire google forms which were circulated among the dentists and non -dentists population of south Tamil Nadu region in India. The data collected from 264 participants (dentists -158, non-dentists -106) within a limited time frame were subjected to descriptive statistical analysis.
Results:
70.9% of dentists are aware of artificial intelligence in dentistry. 40.5% participants were not aware of AI in caries detection but aware of its use in interpretation of radiographs (43.9%) and in planning of orthognathic surgery (42.4%) which are statistically significant

< 0.05.44.7% support clinical experience of a human doctor better than AI diagnosis. Dentists of 54.4% agree to support AI use in dentistry.
Conclusion:
The study concluded AI use in dentistry knowledge is more with dentists and perception of AI in dentistry is optimistic among dentists than non -dentists, majority of participants support AI in dentistry as an adjunct tool to diagnosis and treatment planning.
Nanoparticles(NPs) are of particle sizes lesser than 100nm and are insoluble the field which deal with the handling of these particles is coined as “Nanotechnology” as their particle size is smaller, ...they can penetrate easily therefore they are applied in various medical fields, drug delivery and in dentistry as they have antimicrobial property, reduces friction, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant property. Many studies have been done to evaluate its application and its cytotoxicity by varying its concentration and various studies have been done to evaluate its physical property. Therefore, it is of interest to describe concepts of nanoparticles, mode of action, tissue reaction and its application in orthodontics.

BSTRACT
To compare the patient acceptance between fixed orthodontic appliances and clear aligners. An electronic search was completed in PubMed, Cochrane Database, Web of Science, Scopus, Lilacs, ...Google Scholar, and Open Grey databases without any restrictions until August 23. All comparative study types contrasting patient perception between clear aligners and fixed appliances were included. After removal of duplicates, exclusion by title and abstract, and reading the full text, only eight articles were included. The studies used an observational questionnaire study design. Of the observational studies, one was retrospective and three prospective, one online survey, and the other three cross sectional. Though the response varied in terms of patient preference and acceptance, it was found that clear aligners have a positive impact with respect to quality of life, tolerance, and improved confidence. However, there is not enough evidence to make a final conclusion about treatment outcomes.
The current study concentrated on the green synthesis of Zinc-titanium dioxide nano-composite (Zn-TiO2 NC) through the use of lemon extract, optimizing the different experimental factors required for ...the formation and stability of nanocomposite. The preparation of nanocomposite was confirmed by the observation of the colour change and the surface plasmon resonance band was found at 380 nm, utilizing UV-Visible analysis. The TEM analysis, the morphological features of the prepared nanocomposite was identified to be spherical shape with mean particle size of 25 nm. In addition, the antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activity of this nano-composite were also investigated. The biosynthesized nanocomposite showed excellent antibacterial activity against S. mitis and S. mutans. The obtained results indicate that the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity of this nanocomposite is significant. This bioactive nanocomposite can be used as an effective antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent in biomedical and pharmacological fields for future applications.

Tooth movement in orthodontic therapy is connected to the frictional force that is created as the wire passes over the bracket. It is possible for teeth to move quickly when friction is at ...a minimum. Wires coated with nanoparticles have been found to reduce friction as a result of current developments in the orthodontics sector. Having an antimicrobial property is an added benefit. To reduce the friction generated by brackets, wires, and bands by lessening their cytotoxicity, this study examines the potential use of TiO2 nanoparticles in orthodontics. A monolayer of L929 was utilized in an indirect cytotoxicity test to evaluate the cytotoxicity of the coated orthodontic wire. The absence of reactive zones in our sample data demonstrates that TiO2 is not cytotoxic. Considering the results of our study, we conclude that TiO2 is secure for use as a coating for orthodontic devices.

The use of CuO nanoparticles in topical formulations, dressings, and coated textiles is gaining popularity in medical settings and elsewhere (i.e., cosmetics, textile industry etc.). The primary application of such nanoformulations is their antimicrobial ability, which enables the development of a wide range of products, ranging from antimicrobial solutions used to disinfect surfaces and medical devices to antimicrobial wound dressings, textiles, and coatings.
Background: Osteological examination is a very reliable tool to determine the sex of the individual as the consolidation of the dimorphic characteristics concludes the sex of the individual. This ...study was performed with lateral cephalograms, which is a vital diagnostic tool for patients undergoing orthodontic treatment. An index was formed, which could be considered as a reliable sex determinant in forensic applications.
Materials and Methods: This pilot study was performed on samples of the Dravidian population. Two-fifty individuals, whose age ranged between 25 and 40 years, were taken (125 subjects were males and 125 subjects were females). A total of ninety-nine cephalometric variables were compared, subjected to statistical analysis and tested for significance using the t-test.
Results: Out of a total of 99 variables tested only twenty-four variables showed statistical significance. So, these twenty-four variables were then subjected to discriminant function analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of each variable in predicting the sex of an individual Individually, Ramus length (Ramus ln), Condylion to Gnathion (Co-Gn) and ramus height showed the highest sex determining dependability of 78%. On the flipside, lower anterior facial height (LAFH), with 52%, showed the lowest consistency.
Conclusion: From this study, it is clearly evident that cephalometric landmarks are reliable sex determinants to a good extent. All the statistically significant measurements, but one, showed acceptable percentages of reliability. This means the chosen variables can be used for the Dravidian population to robustly determine the sex of the individuals of interest.
