Abstract
As planets grow, the exchange of angular momentum with the gaseous component of the protoplanetary disc produces a net torque resulting in a variation of the semimajor axis of the planet. ...For low-mass planets not able to open a gap in the gaseous disc, this regime is known as type I migration. Pioneer works studied this mechanism in isothermal discs finding fast inward type I migration rates that were unable to reproduce the observed properties of extrasolar planets. In the last years, several improvements have been made in order to extend the study of type I migration rates to non-isothermal discs. Moreover, it was recently shown that if the planet’s luminosity due to solid accretion is taken into account, inward migration could be slowed down and even reversed. In this work, we study the planet formation process incorporating, and comparing, updated type I migration rates for non-isothermal discs and the role of planet’s luminosity over such rates. We find that the latter can have important effects on planetary evolution, producing a significant outward migration for the growing planets.
Microneedle arrays (MNA) are considered as one of the most promising resources to achieve systemic effects by transdermal delivery of drugs. They are designed as a minimally invasive, painless system ...which can bypass the stratum corneum, overcoming the potential drawbacks of subcutaneous injections and other transdermal delivery systems such as chemical enhancers, nano and microparticles, or physical treatments. As a trendy field in pharmaceutical and biomedical research, its applications are constantly evolving, even though they are based on very well-established techniques. The number of molecules administered by MNA are also increasing, with insulin and vaccines administration being the most investigated. Furthermore, MNA are being used to deliver cells and applied in other organs and tissues like the eyes and buccal mucosae. This review intends to offer a general overview of the current state of MNA research, focusing on the strategies, applications, and types of molecules delivered recently by these systems. In addition, some information about the materials and manufacturing processes is presented and safety data is discussed.
Context.
The mechanisms of planet formation are still under debate. We know little about how planets form, even if more than 4000 exoplanets have been detected to date. Recent investigations target ...the cot of newly born planets: the protoplanetary disk. At the first stages of their life, exoplanets still accrete material from the gas-rich disk in which they are embedded. Transitional disks are indeed disks that show peculiarities, such as gaps, spiral arms, and rings, which can be connected to the presence of substellar companions.
Aims.
To investigate what is responsible for these features, we selected all the known transitional disks in the solar neighborhood (<200 pc) that are visible from the southern hemisphere. We conducted a survey of 11 transitional disks with the SPHERE instrument at the Very Large Telescope. This is the largest H
α
survey that has been conducted so far to look for protoplanets. The observations were performed with the H
α
filter of ZIMPOL in order to target protoplanets that are still in the accretion stage. All the selected targets are very young stars, less than 20 Myr, and show low extinction in the visible.
Methods.
We reduced the ZIMPOL pupil stabilized data by applying the method of the angular spectral differential imaging (ASDI), which combines both techniques. The datacubes are composed of the Cnt_H
α
and the narrow band filter H
α
, which are taken simultaneously to permit the suppression of the speckle pattern. The principal component analysis method was employed for the reduction of the data. For each dataset, we derived the 5
σ
contrast limit and converted it in upper limits on the accretion luminosity.
Results.
We do not detect any new accreting substellar companions around the targeted transition disks down to an average contrast of 12 magnitudes at 0.′′2 from the central star. We have recovered the signal of the accreting M star companion around the star HD 142527. We have detected and resolved, for the first time in visible light, the quadruple system HD 98800. For every other system, we can exclude the presence of massive actively accreting companions, assuming that the accretion is not episodic and that the extinction is negligible. at a separation of 0.′′2 from the host.
To evaluate the influence of the disease activity on radiographic progression in axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) patients treated with TNF inhibitors (TNFi).
The study included 101 axSpA patients ...from the Spanish Register of Biological Therapy in Spondyloarthritides (REGISPONSERBIO), which had clinical data and radiographic assessment available. Patients were classified into 2 groups based on the duration of TNFi treatment at baseline: (i) long-term treatment (≥4 years) and (ii) no long-term treatment (< 4 years). Radiographs were scored by two readers according to the modified Stoke Ankylosing Spondylitis Spine Score (mSASSS) with known chronology. Disease activity differences between patients' groups at each time point were assessed using a linear mixed-effect model.
Radiographic progression was defined as an increase in ≥2 mSASSS units. At inclusion, approximately half of the patients (45.5%) were receiving long-term treatment with TNFi (≥4 years). In this group of subjects, a significant difference in averaged Ankylosing Spondylitis disease Activity Score (ASDAS) across follow-up was found between progressors and non-progressors (2.33 vs 1.76, p=0.027, respectively). In patients not under long-term TNFi treatment (54.5%) though, no significant ASDAS differences were observed between progressors and non-progressors until the third year of follow-up. Furthermore, no significant differences were found in progression status, when disease activity was measured by Bath Ankylosing spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI) and C reactive protein (CRP).
Patients on long-term TNFi treatment with a mean sustained low disease activity measures by ASDAS presented lower radiographic progression than those with active disease.
Benzobthiophen-2-yl-3-bromo-5-hydroxy-5H-furan-2-one (BTH) is a simple and interesting synthetic derivative of petrosaspongiolide M, a natural compound isolated from a sea sponge with demonstrated ...potent anti-inflammatory activity through inhibition of the NF-κB signaling pathway. In the present study, we report the in vitro and in vivo pharmacological effect of BTH on some parameters related to the innate and adaptive response in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. BTH inhibited the release of some of the key psoriatic cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor α, IL-8, IL-6, and CCL27 through the downregulation of NF-κB in normal human keratinocytes. Moreover, it impaired signal transducers and activators of transcription 3 (STAT3) phosphorylation and translocation to the nucleus, which resulted in decreased keratinocyte proliferation. These results were confirmed in vivo in two murine models of psoriasis: the epidermal hyperplasia induced by 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate and the imiquimod-induced skin inflammation model. In both cases, topical administration of BTH prevented skin infiltration and hyperplasia through suppression of NF-κB and STAT3 phosphorylation. Our results confirm the pivotal role of both transcriptional factors in skin inflammation, as occurs in psoriasis, and highlight the potential of small molecules as therapeutic agents for the treatment of this skin disease, with BTH being a potential candidate for future drug research.

Abstract
We present new data of the protoplanetary disc surrounding the Herbig Ae/Be star HD 169142 obtained in the very broad-band (VBB) with the Zurich imaging polarimeter (ZIMPOL), a subsystem of ...the Spectro-Polarimetric High-contrast Exoplanet REsearch instrument (SPHERE) at the Very Large Telescope (VLT). Our Polarimetric Differential Imaging (PDI) observations probe the disc as close as 0.03 arcsec (3.5 au) to the star and are able to trace the disc out to ∼1.08 arcsec (∼126 au). We find an inner hole, a bright ring bearing substructures around 0.18 arcsec (21 au), and an elliptically shaped gap stretching from 0.25 to 0.47 arcsec (29–55 au). Outside of 0.47 arcsec, the surface brightness drops off, discontinued only by a narrow annular brightness minimum at ∼0.63 to 0.74 arcsec (74–87 au). These observations confirm features found in less-well-resolved data as well as reveal yet undetected indications for planet-disc interactions, such as small-scale structures, star–disc offsets, and potentially moving shadows.
ABSTRACT The identification of ongoing planet formation requires the finest angular resolutions and deepest sensitivities in observations inspired by state-of-the-art numerical simulations. ...Hydrodynamic simulations of planet-disk interactions predict the formation of circumplanetary disks (CPDs) around accreting planetary cores. These CPDs have eluded unequivocal detection-their identification requires predictions in CPD tracers. In this work, we aim to assess the observability of embedded CPDs with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) as features imprinted in the gas kinematics. We use 3D smooth particle hydrodynamic simulations of CPDs around 1 and 5 planets at large stellocentric radii in locally isothermal and adiabatic disks. The simulations are then connected with 3D radiative transfer for predictions in CO isotopologues. Observability is assessed by corrupting with realistic long baseline phase noise extracted from the recent HL Tau ALMA data. We find that the presence of a CPD produces distinct signposts: (1) a compact emission separated in velocity from the overall circumstellar disk's Keplerian pattern, (2) a strong impact on the velocity pattern when the Doppler-shifted line emission sweeps across the CPD location, and (3) a local increase in the velocity dispersion. We test our predictions with a simulation tailored for HD 100546-which has a reported protoplanet candidate. We find that the CPDs are detectable in all three signposts with ALMA Cycle 3 capabilities for both 1 and 5 protoplanets, when embedded in an isothermal disk.

Planets form in discs of gas and dust around stars, and continue to grow by accretion of disc material while available. Massive planets clear a gap in their protoplanetary disc, but can ...still accrete gas through a circumplanetary disc. For high enough accretion rates, the planet should be detectable at infrared wavelengths. As the energy of the gas accreted on to the planet is released, the planet surroundings heat up in a feedback process. We aim to test how this planet feedback affects the gas in the coorbital region and the accretion rate itself. We modified the 2D code FARGO-AD to include a prescription for the accretion and feedback luminosity of the planet and use it to model giant planets on 10 au circular and eccentric orbits around a solar mass star. We find that this feedback reduces but does not halt the accretion on to the planet, although this result might depend on the near-coincident radial ranges where both recipes are implemented. Our simulations also show that the planet heating gives the accretion rate a stochastic variability with an amplitude $\Delta \dot{M}_p \sim 0.1 \dot{M}_p$. A planet on an eccentric orbit (e = 0.1) presents a similar variability amplitude, but concentrated on a well-defined periodicity of half the orbital period and weaker broad-band noise, potentially allowing observations to discriminate between both cases. Finally, we find that the heating of the co-orbital region by the planet feedback alters the gas dynamics, reducing the difference between its orbital velocity and the Keplerian motion at the edge of the gap, which can have important consequences for the formation of dust rings.
To decipher the mutational pattern of primary CNS lymphoma (PCNSL), we performed whole-exome sequencing to a median coverage of 103 × followed by mutation verification in 9 PCNSL and validation using ...Sanger sequencing in 22 PCNSL. We identified a median of 202 (range: 139-251) potentially somatic single nucleotide variants (SNV) and 14 small indels (range: 7-22) with potentially protein-changing features per PCNSL. Mutations affected the B-cell receptor, toll-like receptor, and NF-κB and genes involved in chromatin structure and modifications, cell-cycle regulation, and immune recognition. A median of 22.2% (range: 20.0-24.7%) of somatic SNVs in 9 PCNSL overlaps with the RGYW motif targeted by somatic hypermutation (SHM); a median of 7.9% (range: 6.2-12.6%) affects its hotspot position suggesting a major impact of SHM on PCNSL pathogenesis. In addition to the well-known targets of aberrant SHM (aSHM) (PIM1), our data suggest new targets of aSHM (KLHL14, OSBPL10, and SUSD2). Among the four most frequently mutated genes was ODZ4 showing protein-changing mutations in 4/9 PCNSL. Together with mutations affecting CSMD2, CSMD3, and PTPRD, these findings may suggest that alterations in genes having a role in CNS development may facilitate diffuse large B-cell lymphoma manifestation in the CNS. This may point to intriguing mechanisms of CNS tropism in PCNSL.

We will review the mechanisms by which adenosine receptor activation affects the function of the cells and tissues that participate in wound healing, emphasizing the potential beneficial impact of adenosine receptor agonists in diabetic impaired healing.
