This paper aims to develop a travel demand prediction model of transit services for the elderly in rural depopulated areas. The developed model predicts individual travel frequency of transit ...services. A discrete-continuous model is adopted to simultaneously represent not only transit choice probability, but also its travel frequency. A simultaneous estimation procedure for the model is also proposed. Furthermore, a non-compensatory utility function is employed to represent conjunctive choice strategies. Results of model estimation show that the discrete-continuous model can properly predict travel frequency of transit services. It is also found that the model is effective to evaluate the effects of improving levels of transit services and consequently can contribute to more efficient transit service planning.
We present spectroscopic and photometric observations of 17 dwarf-nova superoutbursts obtained by KOOLS-IFU mounted on the 3.8 m telescope Seimei at Okayama Observatory of Kyoto University and ...through VSNET collaboration. Our spectroscopic observations for six outbursts were performed within 1 d from their optical peak. 11 objects (TCP J00590972+3438357. ASASSN-19ado, TCP J06073081-0101501, ZTF20aavnpug, ASASSN-19ady, MASTER OT J061642.05+435617.9, TCP J20034647+1335125, ASASSN-20kv, ASASSN-20kw, MASTER OT J213908.79+161240.2, and ASASSN-20mf) were previously unknown systems, and our observations enabled quick classification of their transient type. These results illustrate that Seimei telescope has the capability to conduct quick follow-up observations of unknown transients. Our photometric observations yielded that 11 objects are WZ Sge-type dwarf novae and their candidates, and the other six objects are SU UMa-type dwarf novae and their candidates. The He II 4686\AA~ emission line was clearly detected among ASASSN-19ado, TCP J06073081-0101501 and MASTER OT J213908.79+161240.2, whose association with a spiral arm structure in an accretion disk has been suggested in the previous studies. Our result suggests that a higher-inclination system shows a stronger emission line of He II 4686\AA, as well as larger-amplitude early superhumps.
We report a case of a woman who was incidentally diagnosed with acromegaly after referral for prolonged post-partum amenorrhea. A 25-year-old woman, gravida 2 para 1, had a normal transvaginal ...delivery and breastfeeding had been discontinued more than a year after delivery. Thereafter, spontaneous menstruation did not restart and she underwent hormonal therapy. Subsequently, she was referred to our university hospital for prolonged amenorrhea. Hormonal examination revealed severe hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (luteinizing hormone 0.5 mIU/mL, follicle-stimulating hormone < 1.0 mIU/mL, estradiol 13 pg/mL), along with a modest increase in serum prolactin levels (43.2 ng/mL). She also complained of milk ejection on nipple stimulation. Magnetic resonance imaging of the head was performed, because an organic abnormality in the central nervous system was suspected to be causing the amenorrhea, which revealed mass lesions extending from the pituitary fossa to the suprasellar area with similar signal intensity as the gray matter. In addition, bitemporal hemianopsia was observed on campimetry. After further examination, the patient was diagnosed with acromegaly.
This paper analyses the influence of providing some pre-trip information concerning facilities for physically handicapped people on their intention to visit tourist sites. Their recreational behavior ...and consciousness are examined based on the questionnaire survey data obtained in Shimane, 2000. It turned out what kindof information they look upon as important. A result of simulation using the intention model to visit tourist sites based on SP data showed that the pre-trip information of facilitico for the disabled significantly affects their decision making of traveling to the sites.
This volume brings together international experts in diverse areas of physics to discuss recent progress in the experimental and theoretical study of neutrino oscillations.Readers are brought up to ...date with the latest developments in important neutrino experiments, and the associated progress in theory is summarized. The principal projects worldwide, such as Super- Kamiokande, SNO, KamLAND, are considered, and contributions also report on future experiments, including JPARC, OPERA, and MINOS.Several other related topics, such as dark matter, double beta decay, lepton flavor violation, and cosmology, are discussed, reflecting the wide-ranging specializations of many contributors outside of pure neutrino physics.
There often have relationships between residential activities and visitors activities in tourist spots. Sometimes it occurs troubles to make a residential consensus when making a street plans in such ...places. In order to make a good street plan, it is important to understand the attitude of residents toward the street in tourist spots. In this paper, we carry out a questionnaire survey in residential and shopping area near Izumo Grand Shrine and found that residents feel tourist bustle is most important in tourist spot and that we can classify the residents into three types by the attitude toward the street plan. What is more, the attitudes have influences on an evaluation of social experiment for transportation planning and thinking about street development.
