In order to improve the mechanical properties of sintered low alloy steels, Fe-1.5%Si-2.0%Ni-(0.5%Mo)-0.1-0.5%C compacts sintered at 1250°C for 3.6 ks were cooled in various conditions after the ...solution treatment at 960°C. The structures of specimens were controlled by changing the cooling rate. The relation between the structures which transformed during continuous cooling and the mechanical properties was studied. The results are summarized as follows: On the continuous cooling transformation diagram, the addition of molybdenum shifted the ferrite and pearlite noses to longer time and enlarged the sections of bainitic and martensitic transformations. It was necessary, under the optimum carbon content and cooling rate, to get the fine mixed structure of polygonal ferrite, bainitic ferrite and upper bainite which resulted in good combination of strength, ductility and toughness. But lower bainite and martensite appeared constantly in the structure of the specimens cooled in uniform cooling rate and decreased the ductility and toughness. The STEP cooling, which was the treatment of changing the cooling rate at 600°C, lead the fine mixed structure mentioned above containing 1025 vol% retained austenite. The STEP cooled specimens showed good mechanical properties; for example in 0.3-0.4%C specimen, 750 MPa of tensile strength, 8% of elongation and 120 kJ/m2 of Charpy impact value.
This paper aims to propose evaluation methods of public transport services in depopulated areas. A quality of life index, a customer satisfaction index and an equality index are proposed to evaluate ...transit services which include Demand Responsive Transit (DRT). A total of four questionnaire surveys were carried out in rural areas in Shimane prefecture. The effect of a new DRT service is obtained using co-variance structure analysis. QOL and CS indices are calculated using the ordered probit model. Evaluation indices which include not only the profitability of an alternative are necessary when planning the introduction or improvement of a transit service in depopulated areas where operating a transit service is unprofitable.
The author carried out a study on 549 necropsy cases without primary disease of pancreas (tumor, inflammation, hemorrhage, necrosis, diabetes mellitus) between the years 1962 and 1969. This survey ...consisted primarily of pathological examination of principal athological-anato -mical changes, fibrous increase was observed in 400 cases (73%) . Fibrous increase of the pancreas was classified morphologically into 3 types ; 1) intralo-bar type (247 cases), 2) interlobar type (59 cases), 3) mixed type (94 cases) . They were also histogenetically devided into the following three types ; 1) periductal type (297 cases) . 2) perivascular type (7 cases), 3) mixed type (96 cases) . Fibrous increase in the pancreas originated with replacement of the residual necrosis owing to various generalized disorders, particularly of neighbouring tissues and viscerae. This fibrous tissue increases progressively and irreversively.

A case of cylindroma of the hard palate metastasizing to the lungs in a seventy nine years old man is described with clinical and postmortem findings. Some of hard palate tumors are also reviewed ...literaturely. Invasion to the perineural space and involvement of regional lymph nodes of tumor cells are not revealed. The survival time of this case is five years after plumonary metastasis was found.
