This paper analyses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Knowledge Management (KM) and focuses primarily on examining to what degree AI can help companies in their efforts to handle information and ...manage knowledge effectively. A search was carried out for relevant electronic bibliographic databases and reference lists of relevant review articles. Articles were screened and the eligibility was based on participants, procedures, comparisons, outcomes (PICO) model, and criteria for PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews). The results reveal that knowledge management and AI are interrelated fields as both are intensely connected to knowledge; the difference reflects in how - while AI offers machines the ability to learn, KM offers a platform to better understand knowledge. The research findings further point out that communication, trust, information systems, incentives or rewards, and the structure of an organization; are related to knowledge sharing in organizations. This systematic literature review is the first to throw light on KM practices & the knowledge cycle and how the integration of AI aids knowledge management systems, enterprise performance & distribution of knowledge within the organization. The outcomes offer a better understanding of efficient and effective knowledge resource management for organizational advantage. Future research is necessary on smart assistant systems thus providing social benefits that strengthen competitive advantage. This study indicates that organizations must take note of definite KM leadership traits and organizational arrangements to achieve stable performance through KM.
Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness and future implications of COVID-related risk stratification for managing retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Methods: A prospective study was conducted at a ...tertiary eye care center from the beginning of the lockdown in India from 23 March 2020 till the end of the first phase of lockdown on 29 May 2020. We evaluated 200 prematurely born infants (< 34 weeks of gestational age) using the new safety guideline protocols for low-risk babies developed in conjunction with the Indian ROP Society for care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Low risk included babies born at more than 30 weeks of gestational age, post menstrual age 34 weeks or above at presentation, more than 1000 grams of birth weight, and stable systemically with good weight gain. Results: New guidelines were implemented in 106 (53%) infants who were low risk while 94 (47%) infants with high risk were followed up as per the old guidelines. Out of the 106 infants (212 eyes) managed by the new guidelines, good outcome (group 1) was seen in 102 (96.2%) infants. Twenty-seven of the 102 infants had some form of ROP and 5 of these infants needed treatment. None of the low-risk babies with no detachment at presentation managed by new guidelines required surgery later (group 2). Two (1.9%) infants came with retinal detachment at presentation and underwent successful surgery (group 3) and two infants (1.9%) were lost to follow up. Conclusion: New risk stratification during the COVID-19 pandemic was an efficient and safe strategy in managing low-risk ROP babies.
The prognosis of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) relapsing post autologous transplant (AuSCT) is poor. Even with novel therapies, only approximately 20%-25% of patients attain complete remissions, with a ...median progression-free survival (PFS) of approximately 5-15 months. Lenalidomide has been shown to have activity in relapsed HL. We retrospectively analyzed the outcomes of patients with relapsed HL post AuSCT treated with lenalidomide alone or in combination with dexamethasone at our center.
Records of 143 patients transplanted from November 2007 to October 2021 were reviewed. Of these patients, 41 (28%) relapsed, and 16 (39%) received lenalidomide alone or in combination with dexamethasone. Data collected included demographic, pathological, staging, and prior therapy details. Lenalidomide was administered at 10-25 mg/day on an intermittent or continuous schedule alone or in combination with dexamethasone (20-40 mg weekly). Response was assessed using PET-CT scan in accordance with Lugano criteria. Standard definitions were used for response, PFS, and overall survival (OS). Toxicities were graded using Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events version 5.0. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS Version 21.
The median age of the patients was 25.5 years, and 10 were males. Eleven (69%) had advanced disease, and 7 (44%) were refractory to last systemic therapy. Nine patients received lenalidomide alone and 7 with dexamethasone. Four (25%) had complete response, and another four (25%) had partial response, with an overall response rate of 50%. The 3-year PFS and OS were 31% and 38%, respectively. Grade III/IV toxicities were only hematological, neutropenia and thrombocytopenia in four and three patients, respectively. No therapy-related deaths were recorded.
Lenalidomide alone or in combination with dexamethasone is a safe and effective therapy for relapsed HL post AuSCT and results in durable response and long-term survival in approximately one-third of the patients. However, these results needs verification in larger prospective studies.
This paper discuss the pumping system study involved detailed discussions with Maintenance Engineers. The flow, pressure and power measurements for the pumps were done with the advanced instruments ...available with GIN. A total of around 2 Pumps were studied during the audit period. We find that there is a good amount of saving potential available on replacement of the pumps with Energy Efficient pumps call it a variable speed drive, adjustable frequency drive, adjustable speed drive, AC drive, inverter drive or something else, a variable frequency drive (VFD) can reduce the energy usage of an electric motor up to 90%, extend motor life, deliver a payback in as little as 6 months and often qualify for energy-saving financial incentives. Since HVAC consumes the most energy in a building and motors account for the majority of HVAC energy usage, using VFDs on pump and fan motors can result in substantial energy cost reductions.
