Drawing from two historical examples from Croatia, the author examines Wendy Brown’s thesis about waning sovereignty in the contemporary globalized world. In both cases, the author confirms Brown’s ...thesis. But in order to further examine the thesis about waning sovereignty in the contemporary world, the author identifies what he calls the contemporary signs of waning sovereignty. Then he calls the reader to find these signs in his/her social environment. In the paper, based on the analysis of ethnographic material, the author explains the emergence of ordinary affects during the breakup of Yugoslavia. He shows that the ordinary affects were ...unfolding amid social anomie created by the collapse of the Yugoslav state and the processes of ethnicization on the subnational level. One of the striking features of the processes of ethnicization was targeted violence against civilians or democratization of violence on a subnational level. To help understand the emergence of affective afflictions, the author supplements theories of cultural trauma and ethnicization with the concepts of situation and crisis embedded in the ordinary. Furthermore, he argues that this small theoretical supplement can help understand the persistence and unusually high presence of war rhetoric in some post-Yugoslav states.
In the light of Gosling theory, we want to answer the question of whether the moral and emotional characteristics (as their Identity Claims and Emotional Regulation) of different smartphones ...platforms users differ. For this purpose we conducted two researches on a sample of 1500 Serbian students. The obtained results point to the fact that there are statistically significant differences in morality of users of different OS (other socio demographic variables have no significant influence on our dependent variables). Moral characteristics were operationally defined with the Moral Foundations Theory by Haidt. In the second research 809 subjects completed the PANAS X questionnaire. Significant discrete emotions and mood differences were found among different smartphone OS users.
Over the last thirty years, the phenomenon of refugeeness and asylum has become one of the central issues in the politics of Western liberal democratic states. This interest has produced some new ...politics (and policies) towards refugees and asylum seekers on the international and national level. The main thesis of the article is that these new politics (policies) have a common origin in the contemporary biopolitics. Biopolitical discourses and practices have a key influence on the politics of refugeeness and asylum on the international and national level. The biopolitics of refugeeness and asylum are characterized by several key points: humanitarianization of refugeeness, humanitarianization of asylum, policies of repression towards asylum seekers and normalization of the state of exception. //ABSTRACT IN CROATIAN: U zadnjih se trideset godina u zapadnim liberalno-demokratskim industrijaliziranim drzavama biljezi pojacan interes za fenomen izbjeglistva i azila. Autor u radu polazi od pretpostavke da politike izbjeglistva i azila u zapadnim zemljama kljucno utjecu na politike izbjeglistva na medunarodnoj razini. U tome smislu autor detektira opce tendencije i znacajke tih politika koje naziva biopolitikama izbjeglistva i azila. U opce tendencije ubraja humanitarizaciju izbjeglistva na medunarodnoj razini, humanitarizaciju azila unutar industrijaliziranih drzava te pojacane represivne politike. Autor opisane biopolitike izbjeglistva i azila tumaci promjenama drustvenog i politickog okvira u zadnjih trideset godina. Dominaciju biopolitika izbjeglistva i azila povezuje s dominantnim opcim biopolitickim diskursima i praksama, krizom politickog (political) u razvijenim liberalno-demokratskim drustvima, usponom novoga globalnog poretka, normalizacijom izvanrednog stanja i pripadajucom normalizacijom nasilja na medudrzavnoj i unutardrzavnoj razini.

Wine production is directly related to the environmentally responsible production. In recent years, due to demands for an environmentally responsible wine production in the Republic of Serbia, wine ...producers have become aware of the environmental responsibilities and are taking measures to prevent environmental problems. The objective of this research was to investigate attitudes of winery owners/managers on business performance of the wineries concerning the environmental behavior and its disclosure. The research has been conducted in the period from July to the end of October 2021 on a sample of 330 small wineries in the Republic of Serbia. The data were processed in the Smart PLS software v.3.2.7. The findings show a positive connection between of both service and financial performance with an ethical environmental behavior and environmental disclosure. However, no positive connection between innovative performance and ethical environmental behavior or ethical environmental disclosure has been determined. The positive attitudes of managers on the environment influence the business performance of wineries and indirectly on environmental behavior and disclosure. The current study should contribute to the relevant literature, as it investigates not only firm behavior in the wine sector, but also the impact of firm performance on the environment.

Rad se bavi javnim (medijskim) reprezentacijama medicinskih radnika u pandemiji virusa COVID-19 na primjeru Kliničke bolnice Dubrava u Zagrebu. Autori analiziraju reprezentacije tijekom protesta ...medicinskih radnika, u kojima se moglo identificirati nadmetanje dvaju javnih diskursa – herojskoga diskursa, koji se često koristi ratnom metaforikom, i diskursa o radnim i materijalnim uvjetima. Usto, analiziraju medijsko izvještavanje o tzv. tulumu u KB-u Dubrava kao momentu pada heroja i raspuštanja herojskoga diskursa. Analiza pokazuje kako medijsko izvještavanje, sa svojim fokusom na heroizaciju radnika i pacijente kao žrtve nebrige medicinskih radnika, zanemaruje diskurs koji se kritički osvrće na radne i materijalne uvjete medicinskih radnika u pandemiji virusa COVID-19, ali i u zdravstvenom sustavu općenito. Teorijsko-metodološka polazišta rada su internetska dijakronijska etnografija i kritička analiza diskursa te antropologija medija i studije heroizma.
The author analyzes the method and strategy of the student blockade of the teaching process on the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in 2009. Special emphasis is placed on those aspects of ...strategic-methodological forms of action which ascribed to the blockade a mobilizing potential and possibilities of politization. Using some elements of Lacan’s psychoanalytic theory and the theory of hegemony by Laclau and Mouffe, the author is trying to show that the performative aspect of student demands played a key role in the politization of those demands. The article ends with the analysis of the political impacts of that action and defines the term politization as applied to this situation.
