The increased incidence of multiple pregnancy in the last 3 decades are related to the development of human assisted reproduction techniques. The main causes of the increased mortality and morbidity ...in multiple pregnancy are the prematurity and the low birth weight, therefore being considered a high-risk pregnancy. The purpose of the current study was to determine the correlations between multiple factors that influence or are the consequence of multiple pregnancy. The main goal was to improve the management and the healthcare during multiple pregnancy. The retrospective study was perfomed at the Clinical Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology "Dr. I. A. Sbarcea" Brasov on 418 patients diagnosed with multiple pregnancy from January 2010 to December 2016.It has been found that the majority of births (66.51%) were premature and took place between 24 and 37 weeks of gestation. Caesarean section was the most common way of birth with 72.73% from the total number of multiple pregnancies. This study concludes that multiple pregnancy is an issue in Romanian hospitals due to the maternal and fetal complications that can occur during pregnancy or labor. The maternal and neonatal outcomes may be improved through detection of the high-risk cases and frequent antenatal visits

...patients often present with postnatal growth retardation, ocular abnormalities (microphtalmia, coloboma, cataract, optical atrophy), facial features (prominent maxilla, upturned nasal tip, ...decreased angle of the nasal bridge, sparse lateral eyebrows, cleft lip, cleft palate), various skin lesions (multiple nevi, hemangiomas), other cerebral malformations (polimicrogyria, grey matter heterotopias, intracranial cysts, enlarged lateral and third ventricules, cavum septum pellucidum, hypoplastic cerebellar vermis, asymmetric brain development) and abnormalities of ribs and spine 3, 20. The major features are cortical malformations, periventricular and subcortical heterotopias, cysts of the third ventricle and/or choroid plexus, optic disc/ nerve coloboma or hypoplasia while the supporting features are represented by vertebral and rib abnormalities, microphtalmia, split-brain EEG, gross cerebral hemispheric asymmetry, vascular malformations or malignancy 2, 19. Routine blood tests showed normal blood cell counts, hypoglycemia (26 mg/dl) and compensated metabolic acidosis. 4.Conclusions The authors report a case of a 3 months old girl with Aicardi syndrome characterized by very early-onset of seizures, cheilognatopalatoschizis and absence of chorioretinal lacunae and an early diagnosis by a multidisciplinary team approach. * Correspondence author : larisa_dia@yahoo.com References 1.
Cervical cancer is the 2nd leading cause of death in women worldwide. The aim of the paper was to evaluate the prevalence of precancerous cervix lesions and their management. The retrospective study ...was performed over a period of six years. We observed an increased incidence between 26-45 years, coinciding with the peak of female sexual life. 50.81% of patients had abnormal vaginal bleeding,11.35 % presented with modified leucorrhea and 9.72% for abdominal pain. The main procedure performed for this pathology was cold knife conization followed by endocervix curettage in 52.43% cases. Cervical dysplasia has a higher incidence in low/middle income countries because of the lifestyle factors, that includes also the participation in adequate screening programs. These results point out the importance of prevention programs, including vaccination and screening.
