Este estudio visualiza la diferencia en la práctica de actividad física y autorregulación antes y durante la pandemia por COVID-19, por ello, como objetivo fue analizar las diferencias en la práctica ...de actividad física y autorregulación antes y durante la contingencia. Estudio cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo, mediante el uso de un cuestionario, validado mediante el método Delphi; aplicado de forma presencial a 30 familias Rarámuris que viven en la sierra Tarahumara de Chihuahua, México, con las medidas de seguridad, así como el apoyo de intérpretes. Se efectuó un análisis de varianza de medidas repetidas de antes y después de la pandemia por ítems y un ANOVA. Los resultados señalaron que la práctica diaria de actividad física en niños y niñas es de 1.09 horas; de actividades cotidianas 0.75 a 1.4 horas a ver televisión, celular y esparcimiento. En el Análisis de Varianza de Medidas Repetidas de 2 (tiempo) x 11(ítems) con relación al antes (M = 2.49, DE = 0.66) y durante (M = 2.83, DE = 0.59) la pandemia, se observan diferencias significativas, con mayor frecuencia durante la contingencia, en cinco actividades de autorregulación relacionadas con: parar, pensar y luego actuar; memorización; concentración y atención; cantar con repetición y agregar palabras; y respetar turnos; así como el tiempo dedicado a la actividad física. En conclusión, es importante establecer estrategias que fomenten actividades “positivas” durante y después de la pandemia, con base al estudio la actividad física, el juego y la interacción contribuyen al bienestar y desarrollo del niño.

Body image is a mental representation that a person has, which could become a body dissatisfaction due to the pressure exerted by the culture, affecting several life stages specially in adolescents. ...The aim of this study was to analyze the psychometric properties and factorial invariance of the questionnaire to assess body image dissatisfaction. The sample consisted of 552 Mexican teenagers, 259 female, and 293 male, with a mean age of 12.91 ± 0.96 years. Confirmatory Factor Analyses show that a five-factor structure is viable and adequate. The five-factor structure (perceptual, emotional distress, behavioral, proposal to change, and fear of gaining weight) show adequate fit indices and validity, even though the obtained model does not completely correspond to that proposed by the authors of the scale, it continues to endorse the multifactorial component of body dissatisfaction. On the other hand, the factorial structure, the factor loadings, and the intercepts are considered invariant in both populations; however, there are differences between the populations for the means of the perceptual, emotional distress, and fear of gaining weight factors. This study serves as a premise for future research on the study of instruments for measuring body image in populations with different personal and cultural factors.
El bienestar psicológico, la imagen corporal y la actividad física son tres constructos de gran importancia, debido al efecto en diferentes ámbitos de la vida de los estudiantes universitarios. Por ...lo que, el objetivo principal del presente estudio fue examinar el efecto de la práctica regular de actividad física y la imagen corporal sobre la percepción de bienestar psicológico en estudiantes universitarios mexicanos mediante un modelo de ecuaciones estructurales. Un total de 900 estudiantes universitarios mexicanos (509 mujeres y 391 hombres) de 18 a 26 años cumplimentaron el Cuestionario Internacional de Actividad Física y las versiones reducidas de los cuestionarios Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnaire y Bienestar Psicológico de Ryff. Los resultados del modelo de ecuaciones estructurales mostraron que el género y la práctica de actividad física, a través de la importancia subjetiva de la forma y la apariencia física, tiene un efecto indirecto positivo sobre la percepción de bienestar psicológico en la dimensión de autoaceptación y ésta, a su vez, ejerce un efecto directo positivo sobre el crecimiento personal. El modelo propuesto obtiene un ajuste satisfactorio, explicando el 48% de la varianza en la percepción de bienestar psicológico en la dimensión de crecimiento personal (variable criterio), lo que parecen revelar la importancia del conjunto de variables en la predicción/explicación del bienestar psicológico de los universitarios y, por consiguiente, la necesidad de incluir su optimización y desarrollo en los currículos escolares.

Abstract: Psychological well-being, body image and physical activity are three constructs of great importance, because of the effect on different areas of university students’ life. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to examine the effect of regular practice of physical activity and body image on the perception of psychological well-being in Mexican university students through a structural equation model. A total of 900 Mexican university students (509 women and 391 men) between the ages of 18 and 26 completed the International Physical Activity Questionnaire and the reduced versions of the Ryff Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnaire and Psychological Well-being questionnaires. The results of the structural equation model showed that gender and the practice of physical activity, through the subjective importance of physical form and appearance, have a positive indirect effect on the perception of psychological well-being in the self-acceptance dimension and this in turn has a direct positive effect on personal growth. The proposed model obtains a satisfactory fit, explaining 48% of the variance in the perception of psychological well-being in the personal growth dimension (criterion variable), which seems to reveal the importance of the set of variables in the prediction/explanation of psychological well-being of university students and, consequently, the need to include their optimization and development in school curricula.

Anxiety is a feeling of fear, dread or restlessness and can develop into a weight-related disorder. The objective was to analyze the psychometric properties of the trait anxiety subscale of the ...Physical Appearance State and Trait Anxiety Scale (PASTAS), as well as the invariance in Mexican preadolescents. The sample consisted of 604 participants, 285 female and 319 male, whose ages ranged between 11 and 12 years (M = 11.37; SD = 0.48). The questionnaire's factor structure was analyzed using confirmatory factor analyses. The analyses show the viability and adequacy of a two-factor structure (weight and non-weight factors) both for the total sample and for the populations of male and female. The two-factor structure showed adequate reliability and validity fit indicators. The factor structure, the factor loadings and intercepts are considered invariant according to the variable sex; however, differences between female and male participants were found for levels of anxiety caused by physical appearance. In conclusion, the PASTAS can be considered a convenient instrument to assess the variables related to anxiety generated by one's physical appearance, as well as allowing more participants to be quickly assessed.
El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar las propiedades psicométricas propuestas por Marsh, Martin y Jackson (2010) para la versión corta del Physical Self Description Questionnaire (PSDQ-S). ...La muestra total fue de 1071 adolescentes de la ciudad de Chihuahua, México, con edades comprendidas entre 13 y 18 años (M = 15.52 ± 1.42 años). La estructura factorial del cuestionario se realizó mediante análisis factoriales exploratorios y confirmatorios. Éstos, mostraron una estructura de nueve factores: actividad física, apariencia, grasa corporal, coordinación, resistencia, flexibilidad, salud, competencia deportiva y fuerza, los cuales demostraron que el cuestionario es viable y adecuado (GFI=.956; RMSEA=.041; CFI=.975). La estructura de los nueve factores, atendiendo a criterios estadísticos y sustantivos, ha mostrado adecuados indicadores de ajuste de fiabilidad y validez. En conclusión, el PSDQ-S puede ser una herramienta útil para avanzar en el estudio de los factores que afectan al autoconcepto físico en adolescentes. The nine factors structure, according to statistical and substantive criteria, has shown adequate indicators of reliability and validity adjustment. In conclusion, the PSDQ-S can be a useful tool to advance in the study of the factors that affect the physical self-concept.
El objetivo de esta investigación consistió en comparar los perfiles de motivación hacia las clases de educación física de alumnos y alumnas de secundaria mexicanos. .La muestra total fue de 549 ...sujetos; 256 mujeres y 293 hombres, con una edad media de 12,9 años (DE= 0,9) y 12,8 años (DE= 1,0) respectivamente. El abordaje adoptado en la investigación se enmarcó dentro de un enfoque cuantitativo con un diseño descriptivo tipo encuesta. En los resultados del análisis multivariante de la varianza, seguido por los análisis de varianza univariados se encontró que, mostraron que los hombres reportan mayores niveles de motivación intrínseca (F = 5,27, p < ,05), regulación integrada (F = 6,74, p < ,01), regulación identificada (F = 3,96, p < ,05) y regulación introyectada (F = 12,28, p < ,001) que las mujeres y sin diferencias significativas con respecto a regulación externa y desmotivación, de tal forma que las mujeres al manifestar niveles más bajos de motivación presentan un mayor riesgo de abandonar la práctica de actividad física que los hombres.

ciudad de Chihuahua, México, con edades comprendidas entre 13 y 18 años (M = 15.52 ± 1.42 años). La aplicación fue de forma
sistematizada. La estructura factorial del cuestionario se realizó mediante análisis factoriales exploratorios y confirmatorios. Éstos,
mostraron una estructura de nueve factores: actividad física, apariencia, grasa corporal, coordinación, resistencia, flexibilidad, salud,
