The present work involves the formulation of colon targeted matrix tablet of Ibuprofen by using direct compression method. Literatures regarding, Ibuprofen tablet dosage form preparation, excipients ...selection, manufacturing method etc., has been collected and reviewed. In this work, selection of excipients was done based on a literature review. Excipients include Eudragit S100, Ethyl cellulose, Lactose, Talc, Magnesium stearate. Quantities of the excipients were selected performing FT-IR method which is an HIS of Fourrts India Laboratory. Preformulation studies have also been performed to study the nature of API and compatibility of API with excipients by physical observation and FT-IR studies. The result showed that API was compatible with all the excipients selected. The tablets were formulated by direct compression method using the selected excipient quantities. The formulated tablets were tested for both pre-compression parameters and post compression parameters as per requirements of standards. Pre-compression parameters such asbulk density, tapped density, compressibility index, Hausner’s ratio and compressibility index. The results obtained indicate that it has good flow property for direct compression. The formulated Ibuprofen matrix tablets were coated with enteric polymer Eudragit FS30D by pan coating method. The prepared tablets were evaluated for weight variation, hardness, thickness, friability, drug content, and disintegration time and in-vitro dissolution studies. All these parameters were found to be within the standard limits. Comparative studies of coated Ibuprofen tablets and uncoated Ibuprofen tablets are evaluated for the hardness, thickness, in-vitro dissolution studies and disintegration time. Out of six formulations, the formulation F6 showed 98.51% drug release at 24 hrs. Since it provide greater protection to the core under acidic condition while at the same time show the fastest drug release under intestinal pH. So the formulation F6 was considered as the confirmatory trial and it was subjected for stability studies up to three months of accelerated stability 400C ± 2C0, 75 %± 5 % RH and found to be within limits.
Background & objectives: India has been reporting the cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) since January 30, 2020. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) formulated and established ...laboratory surveillance for COVID-19. In this study, an analysis of the surveillance data was done to describe the testing performance and descriptive epidemiology of COVID-19 cases by time, place and person.
Methods: The data were extracted from January 22 to April 30, 2020. The frequencies of testing performance were described over time and by place. We described cases by time (epidemic curve by date of specimen collection; seven-day moving average), place (area map) and person (attack rate by age, sex and contact status), and trends were represented along with public health measures and events.
Results: Between January 22 and April 30, 2020, a total of 1,021,518 individuals were tested for severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). Testing increased from about 250 individuals per day in the beginning of March to 50,000 specimens per day by the end of April 2020. Overall, 40,184 (3.9%) tests were reported positive. The proportion of positive cases was highest among symptomatic and asymptomatic contacts, 2-3-fold higher than among those with severe acute respiratory infection, or those with an international travel history or healthcare workers. The attack rate (per million) by age was highest among those aged 50-69 yr (63.3) and was lowest among those under 10 yr (6.1). The attack rate was higher among males (41.6) than females (24.3). The secondary attack rate was 6.0 per cent. Overall, 99.0 per cent of 736 districts reported testing and 71.1 per cent reported COVID-19 cases.
Interpretation & conclusions: The coverage and frequency of ICMR's laboratory surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 improved over time. COVID-19 was reported from most parts of India, and the attack rate was more among men and the elderly and common among close contacts. Analysis of the data indicates that for further insight, additional surveillance tools and strategies at the national and sub-national levels are needed.
The electronic structures of a series of chromium complexes 1–7 have been experimentally investigated using a combination of X-ray crystallography, magneto- and electrochemistry, and Cr K-edge X-ray ...absorption and UV–vis spectroscopies. Reaction of the dimer CrII 2(μ-CH3CO2)40 with 2,2′-bipyridine (bpy0) produced the complex CrIII(bpy0)(bpy•)(CH3CO2)20 (S = 1) (1), but in the presence of isopropylamine (iPrNH2) CrIII(bpy•)(iPrNH2)2(CH3CO2)20 (S = 1) (2) was obtained. Both 1 and 2 contain a CrIII ion and a single (bpy•)1– ligand, so are not low-spin CrII species. One-electron oxidation of 1 and 2 yielded CrIII(bpy0)2(CH3CO2)2PF6 (S = 3/2) (3) in both cases. In addition, the new neutral species CrIII(DAD•)30 (S = 0) (4) and CrIII(CF3AP•)30 (S = 0) (5) have been synthesized. Both complexes contain three π-radical anion ligands, which derive from one electron reduction of 1,4-bis(cyclohexyl)-1,4-diaza-1,3-butadiene and one electron oxidation of 2-(2-trifluoromethyl)-anilino-4,6-di-tert-butylphenolate, respectively. Intramolecular antiferromagnetic coupling to d3 CrIII gives the observed singlet ground states. Reaction of CrII(CH3CN)6(PF6)2 with 2,6-bis1-(4-methoxyphenylimino)ethylpyridine (PDI0) under anaerobic conditions affords dark brown microcrystals of CrIII(PDI0)(PDI•)(PF6)2 (S = 1) (6). This complex is shown to be a member of the electron transfer series CrIII(PDI)23+/2+/1+/0, in which all one-electron transfer processes are ligand-based. By X-ray crystallography, it was shown that 6 possesses a localized electronic structure, such that one ligand is neutral (PDI0) and the other is a π-radical monoanion (PDI•)1–. Again, it should be highlighted that 6 is not a CrII species. Lastly, the structure of CrIII(Mebpy•)30 (S = 0) (7, Mebpy = 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine) has been established by high resolution X-ray crystallography and clearly shows that three (Mebpy•)1– radical anions are present. To further validate our electronic structure assignments, complexes 1–6 were investigated computationally using density functional theory (DFT) and found in all cases to contain a CrIII ion. This oxidation state assignment was experimentally confirmed for complexes 2, 4, 5, and 6 by Cr K-edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy.
Background: Groundnut is one of the most important oilseed crops and also a good source of proteins, carbohydrates and fibre. Conventionally, groundnut cultivation also need good amount of commercial ...nitrogen fertilizers which are found to be not efficiently and effectively utilized by the plants, also lost due to leaching and so, causing severe ecological damage. However, our study of priming groundnut seeds with nanofertilizers have reduced the dosage of fertilizers as well as increased the yields. Methods: A two-year field experiment (2020-2021) was carried out to evaluate the effect of nano fertilizers (NF) (phosphorus, zinc, and iron) seed priming and NF foliar spray on the growth, yield, and seed quality characteristics of groundnut var TG-37 A. Groundnut was chosen as the testcrop and seeds were primed with nanofertilizers as well as standing crop is foliar sprayed with nanofertilizer at pre-flowering stage. The effect of nanofertilizers on test crop was evaluated on seed germination, seedling vigor, plant growth, flowering, chlorophyll content, pod yield, oil content and protein content. Result: The results indicated that in both the years, NF seed primingandfoliar sprays treatments showed higher seed germination and seedling vigor aided in early establishment in soil, which manifested by higher plant height, early flowering, higher leaf chlorophyll content, 100-seed weight and shelling percentage. Pod yield per plant was 30.1% and 33.0% higher in 2020 and 2021, respectively, as compared to the control. In both years, the application of nano fertilizers considerably boosted the oil and protein content compared to the control (31.5% and 28.9% for oil, 33.1% and 30.0% for protein). Thus, it is concluded that nano-fertilizers considerably improved growth, yield and quality of groundnut.
Background: Adopting adequate isolation distances is one of the very crucial principles and practices of quality seed production. Upon research and continuous evaluation, isolation distances for each ...crop, kind and cultivar have been determined in almost all cultivable crops. The development of hybrids through various mechanisms has led to redefining isolation distances in a few crops like pigeonpea based upon the principles of pollination ecology and the activity of various pollinators. Methods: Our study on the direction of male and female blocks, activity and frequency of pollinators and their effect on production potential and quality of seed was systematically conducted at various isolation distances viz., 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 and 400 m between female (A) and male (R) lines. Result: Our empirical information depicts that an isolation distance of 400 m between male and female parents reduces the chances of genetic contamination and hence the isolation distance in case of hybrid seed production of pigeonpea shall be redefined as 400 m.
