In this paper, a new dance training system based on the motion capture and virtual reality (VR) technologies is proposed. Our system is inspired by the traditional way to learn new ...movements-imitating the teacher's movements and listening to the teacher's feedback. A prototype of our proposed system is implemented, in which a student can imitate the motion demonstrated by a virtual teacher projected on the wall screen. Meanwhile, the student's motions will be captured and analyzed by the system based on which feedback is given back to them. The result of user studies showed that our system can successfully guide students to improve their skills. The subjects agreed that the system is interesting and can motivate them to learn.
An analytical model for the potential between two rare gas atoms at distances between R=0 to R→∞ is assumed to be conformal with the previously published potential for He_{2} J. Chem. Phys. 142, ...131102 (2015)JCPSA60021-960610.1063/1.4916740. The potential curves of the rare gas dimers all have the same shape and only depend on the well parameters D_{e} and R_{e}. The potentials and the vibrational levels for the 11 homonuclear and heteronuclear dimers for which recent ab initio calculations are available agree, within several percent, with the ab initio results. For the other rare gas dimers, the new potential provides the first realistic estimates for the potentials.
This study reviewed the literature on the relations between exposure to chemicals with endocrine-disrupting abilities and obesity in humans. The studies generally indicated that exposure to some of ...the endocrine-disrupting chemicals was associated with an increase in body size in humans. The results depended on the type of chemical, exposure level, timing of exposure and gender. Nearly all the studies investigating dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene (DDE) found that exposure was associated with an increase in body size, whereas the results of the studies investigating polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) exposure were depending on dose, timing and gender. Hexachlorobenzene, polybrominated biphenyls, beta-hexachlorocyclohexane, oxychlordane and phthalates were likewise generally associated with an increase in body size. Studies investigating polychlorinated dibenzodioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofurans found either associations with weight gain or an increase in waist circumference, or no association. The one study investigating relations with bisphenol A found no association. Studies investigating prenatal exposure indicated that exposure in utero may cause permanent physiological changes predisposing to later weight gain. The study findings suggest that some endocrine disruptors may play a role for the development of the obesity epidemic, in addition to the more commonly perceived putative contributors.
Lipid droplets are highly associated with obesity, diabetes, inflammatory disorders, and cancer. A reliable two-photon dye for specific lipid droplets imaging in live cells and live tissues at ...ultralow concentration has rarely been reported. In this work, four new aggregation-induced emission luminogens (AIEgens) based on the naphthalene core were designed and synthesized for specific two-photon lipid droplet staining. The new molecules, namely, NAP AIEgens, exhibit large Stokes shift (>110 nm), high solid-state fluorescence quantum yield (up to 30%), good two-photon absorption cross section (45–100 GM at 860 nm), high biocompatibility, and good photostability. They could specifically stain lipid droplets at ultralow concentration (50 nM) in a short time of 15 min. Such ultralow concentration is the lowest value for lipid droplets staining in live cells reported so far. In vitro and ex vivo two-photon imaging of lipid droplets in live cells and live mice liver tissues were successfully demonstrated. In addition, selective visualization of lipid droplets in live mice liver tissues could be achieved at a depth of about 70 μm. These excellent properties render them as promising candidates for investigating lipid droplet-associated physiological and pathological processes in live biological samples.
Silver staining, which exploits the special bioaffinity and the chromogenic reduction of silver ions, is an indispensable visualization method in biology. It is a most popular method for in‐gel ...protein detection. However, it is limited by run‐to‐run variability, background staining, inability for protein quantification, and limited compatibility with mass spectroscopic (MS) analysis; limitations that are largely attributed to the tricky chromogenic visualization. Herein, we reported a novel water‐soluble fluorogenic Ag+ probe, the sensing mechanism of which is based on an aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) process driven by tetrazolate‐Ag+ interactions. The fluorogenic sensing can substitute the chromogenic reaction, leading to a new fluorescence silver staining method. This new staining method offers sensitive detection of total proteins in polyacrylamide gels with a broad linear dynamic range and robust operations that rival the silver nitrate stain and the best fluorescent stains.
Fluorogenic development of silver: Reported is a fluorogenic Ag+ detection system accomplished by a spontaneous tetrazolate–Ag+ aggregation. This system can substitute the tricky chromogenic reduction step of the traditional silver staining methods with a fluorogenic detection step, leading to a sensitive and robust fluorescent visualization of total proteins.
Carbon coating is a simple, effective and common technique for improving the conductivity of active materials in lithium ion batteries. However, carbon coating provides a strong reducing atmosphere ...and many factors remain unclear concerning the interface nature and underlying interaction mechanism that occurs between carbon and the active materials. Here, we present a size-dependent surface phase change occurring in lithium iron phosphate during the carbon coating process. Intriguingly, nanoscale particles exhibit an extremely high stability during the carbon coating process, whereas microscale particles display a direct visualization of surface phase changes occurring at the interface at elevated temperatures. Our findings provide a comprehensive understanding of the effect of particle size during carbon coating and the interface interaction that occurs on carbon-coated battery material--allowing for further improvement in materials synthesis and manufacturing processes for advanced battery materials.

−3 across the two sites, showing different seasonal patterns of these N
r species. For example, the highest NH
3 concentration occurred in summer while NO
2 concentrations were greater in winter, both of which reflected impacts of N fertilization (summer) and coal-fueled home heating (winter). Based on measured N
r concentrations and their deposition velocities taken from the literature, annual N dry deposition was up to 55 kg N ha
−1. Such high concentrations and deposition rates of N
r species in the NCP indicate very serious air pollution from anthropogenic sources and significant atmospheric N input to crops.

Nearly half of the earth's photosynthetically fixed carbon derives from the oceans. To determine global and region specific rates, we rely on models that estimate marine net primary productivity ...(NPP) thus it is essential that these models are evaluated to determine their accuracy. Here we assessed the skill of 21 ocean color models by comparing their estimates of depth-integrated NPP to 1156 in situ 14C measurements encompassing ten marine regions including the Sargasso Sea, pelagic North Atlantic, coastal Northeast Atlantic, Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Arabian Sea, subtropical North Pacific, Ross Sea, West Antarctic Peninsula, and the Antarctic Polar Frontal Zone. Average model skill, as determined by root-mean square difference calculations, was lowest in the Black and Mediterranean Seas, highest in the pelagic North Atlantic and the Antarctic Polar Frontal Zone, and intermediate in the other six regions. The maximum fraction of model skill that may be attributable to uncertainties in both the input variables and in situ NPP measurements was nearly 72%. On average, the simplest depth/wavelength integrated models performed no worse than the more complex depth/wavelength resolved models. Ocean color models were not highly challenged in extreme conditions of surface chlorophyll-a and sea surface temperature, nor in high-nitrate low-chlorophyll waters. Water column depth was the primary influence on ocean color model performance such that average skill was significantly higher at depths greater than 250 m, suggesting that ocean color models are more challenged in Case-2 waters (coastal) than in Case-1 (pelagic) waters. Given that in situ chlorophyll-a data was used as input data, algorithm improvement is required to eliminate the poor performance of ocean color NPP models in Case-2 waters that are close to coastlines. Finally, ocean color chlorophyll-a algorithms are challenged by optically complex Case-2 waters, thus using satellite-derived chlorophyll-a to estimate NPP in coastal areas would likely further reduce the skill of ocean color models.
Although the clinical features of the Isocitrate dehydrogenase 2 (IDH2) mutation in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) have been characterized, its prognostic significance remains controversial and its ...stability has not been investigated. We analyzed 446 adults with primary non-M3 AML and found IDH2 R172, R140 and IDH1 R132 mutations occurred at a frequency of 2.9, 9.2 and 6.1%, respectively. Compared with wild-type IDH2, mutation of IDH2 was associated with higher platelet counts, intermediate-risk or normal karyotype and isolated +8, but was inversely correlated with expression of HLA-DR, CD34, CD15, CD7 and CD56, and was mutually exclusive with WT1 mutation and chromosomal translocations involving core-binding factors. All these correlations became stronger when IDH1 and IDH2 mutations were considered together. Multivariate analysis revealed IDH2 mutation as an independent favorable prognostic factor. IDH2(-)/FLT3-ITD(+) genotype conferred especially negative impact on survival. Compared with IDH2 R140 mutation, IDH2 R172 mutation was associated with younger age, lower white blood cell count and lactate dehydrogenase level, and was mutually exclusive with NPM1 mutation. Serial analyses of IDH2 mutations at both diagnosis and relapse in 121 patients confirmed high stability of IDH2 mutations. In conclusion, IDH2 mutation is a stable marker during disease evolution and confers favorable prognosis.

The gut microbiota is established during infancy and plays a fundamental role in shaping host immunity. Colonization patterns may influence the development of atopic disease, but ...existing evidence is limited and conflicting.
Objective
To explore associations of infant gut microbiota and food sensitization.
Methods
Food sensitization at 1 year was determined by skin prick testing in 166 infants from the population‐based Canadian Healthy Infant Longitudinal Development (CHILD) study. Faecal samples were collected at 3 and 12 months, and microbiota was characterized by Illumina 16S rRNA sequencing.
Results
Twelve infants (7.2%) were sensitized to ≥ 1 common food allergen at 1 year. Enterobacteriaceae were overrepresented and Bacteroidaceae were underrepresented in the gut microbiota of food‐sensitized infants at 3 months and 1 year, whereas lower microbiota richness was evident only at 3 months. Each quartile increase in richness at 3 months was associated with a 55% reduction in risk for food sensitization by 1 year (adjusted odds ratio 0.45, 95% confidence interval 0.23–0.87). Independently, each quartile increase in Enterobacteriaceae/Bacteroidaceae ratio was associated with a twofold increase in risk (2.02, 1.07–3.80). These associations were upheld in a sensitivity analysis among infants who were vaginally delivered, exclusively breastfed and unexposed to antibiotics. At 1 year, the Enterobacteriaceae/Bacteroidaceae ratio remained elevated among sensitized infants, who also tended to have decreased abundance of Ruminococcaceae.
Conclusions and Clinical Relevance
Low gut microbiota richness and an elevated Enterobacteriaceae/Bacteroidaceae ratio in early infancy are associated with subsequent food sensitization, suggesting that early gut colonization may contribute to the development of atopic disease, including food allergy.
