Improving transportation safety and efficiency is currently a top priority worldwide. With the increasing use of autonomous vehicles, it is crucial to develop real-time traffic sign monitoring ...systems to assist self-driving cars in recognizing and making safe decisions on the road. However, detecting and tracking multiple traffic signs poses challenges due to variations in numbers, sizes, and colors, especially when there are similar warning contents. Therefore, the development of a real-time traffic sign monitoring system using advanced image recognition technology is highly significant. This study introduces the utilization of the YOLOv7 model combined with SORT object tracking to simultaneously track multiple traffic signals. The focus is on a system that provides speed limits for self-driving cars based on different types of signs, such as R.120 and P.127, placed closely together. The YOLOv7 model will be used for sign recognition, while SORT object tracking assigns individual IDs to track the signs. Based on each specific case, the maximum speed for self-driving cars will be determined. This method will greatly benefit self-driving cars in detecting multiple traffic signs in real-time.
The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method has been widely applied in numerous studies related to water allocation worldwide. However, in Vietnam, very few works have addressed the determination of ...priority orders and water allocation proportions using this method. This paper focuses on the application of AHP, integrated into the decision analysis module for Excel tool (DAME), to determine the priority order and proportion of water resource allocation for the Bang Giang - Ky Cung river basin using various input data, such as water usage, production values, growth rates, etc. The results, based on scenarios of socio-economic growth up to 2025 for Cao Bang, Lang Son, and Bac Kan provinces, taking into account four main water user categories (industry, livestock, agriculture, aquaculture), and considering the entire basin, indicate that the highest proportion of water resource allocation is for the agriculture, approximately 34%, followed by livestock at 33%, industry at 22%, and finally aquaculture at 11%. The findings of this paper can serve as a reference for near-future planning to promote the development of water sectors, increase production capacity, and effectively manage water resources to meet socio-economic development targets for the period from 2021 to 2025 in the provinces located within the basin.
This paper presents a simple model predictive current control (MPCC) method to improve current performance and achieve the fixed switching frequency for the four-leg voltage source inverter (VSI) fed ...two-phase loads. In the proposed method, a desired voltage vector is firstly introduced to avoid the current prediction calculations. Then, three voltage vectors, which are selected by the location of the desired voltage vector, are applied during one sampling period with a predetermined switching sequence to drive the inverter. This achieves the fixed switching frequency and significantly reduces the current harmonics. Simulation results are given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed MPCC method.
