Analysis of a great number of works allows concluding that many types of GTE and GTU nozzles can be divided into 3 main groups and 3 intermediate (composite) groups. The developed general ...classification of atomizers with descriptions of their operating principles, advantages and disadvantages is used to select a type of device for development. The most promising type chosen from descriptions given in the paper is the one with atomization of fuel by high-speed air flow.
Original data on radionuclide activities in air emissions of Russian NPPs are presented based on direct on-site measurements in vent stacks of NPPs during an extensive survey in 2017–2018. For the ...first time, the detailed inventories of radionuclides in the air releases were directly measured for all types of nuclear reactors, employed in the Russian NPPs. Based on the results of measurements, annual doses for local populations around the Russian NPPs were estimated. The technogenic radionuclides, detected in the air emissions, were ranked according to their contribution in the annual dose. 14C is the major contributor for the annual dose from the atmospheric releases of LWGR reactors – almost 98% for Bilibino NPP's EGP-6 reactor, and up to 86% for RBMK-1000 reactors (Smolensk NPP). For PWR reactors (VVER) contribution to the annual dose from atmospheric releases is formed mostly by tritium, 14C and noble gases. Estimated annual doses for local populations in the vicinity of the Russian NPPs do not exceed 10−5 Sv/year. Atmospheric releases of 60Co, 134Cs, 137Cs and other aerosols, involved in the routine monitoring programs of Russian NPPs, do not contribute significantly to the annual dose. Based on these results, 14C and tritium will be included in the monitoring programs of atmospheric release control at all Russian NPPs; maximal permissible levels of annual releases for 14C and tritium will be established since 2019.
•Direct measurements of radionuclide emissions in vent stacks were performed for all Russian NPPs.•14C, tritium and noble gases are among major contributors to doses from atmospheric releases.•Eleases of aerosols included to the current monitoring programs do not contribute significantly to the annual dose.•14C and tritium will be included in the monitoring programs of atmospheric release control at all Russian NPPs since 2019.
The pathogenesis of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection involves dysregulations of iron metabolism, and although the mechanism of this pathology is not yet fully ...understood, correction of iron metabolism pathways seems a promising pharmacological target. The previously observed effect of inhibiting SARS-CoV-2 infection by ferristatin II, an inducer of transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1) degradation, prompted the study of competition between Spike protein and TfR1 ligands, especially lactoferrin (Lf) and transferrin (Tf). We hypothesized molecular mimicry of Spike protein as cross-reactivity of Spike-specific antibodies with Tf and Lf. Thus, strong positive correlations (R
2
> 0.95) were found between the level of Spike-specific IgG antibodies present in serum samples of COVID-19-recovered and Sputnik V-vaccinated individuals and their Tf-binding activity assayed with peroxidase-labeled anti-Tf. In addition, we observed cross-reactivity of Lf-specific murine monoclonal antibody (mAb) towards the SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein. On the other hand, the interaction of mAbs produced to the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the Spike protein with recombinant RBD protein was disrupted by Tf, Lf, soluble TfR1, anti-TfR1 aptamer, as well as by peptides RGD and GHAIYPRH. Furthermore, direct interaction of RBD protein with Lf, but not Tf, was observed, with affinity of binding estimated by K
D
to be 23 nM and 16 nM for apo-Lf and holo-Lf, respectively. Treatment of Vero E6 cells with apo-Lf and holo-Lf (1–4 mg/mL) significantly inhibited SARS-CoV-2 replication of both Wuhan and Delta lineages. Protective effects of Lf on different arms of SARS-CoV-2-induced pathogenesis and possible consequences of cross-reactivity of Spike-specific antibodies are discussed.

When designing a narrow band Internet of things (NB-IoT) system, the main tasks are to determine the boundary parameters of the system nodes and check its performance under various conditions. ...Automatic design tools make it possible to achieve reliable results even at the modeling stage, which helps to accelerate the development and implementation of new technologies in the microelectronic industry, including the industrial Internet of things. This paper presents aspects of designing an NB-IoT system. Analytical calculations of the receiving path are carried out using a debugging system in the context of radio wave propagation in an enclosed space in accordance with the specifications of the 5G 3GPP standard. Based on the results of analytical calculations on signal propagation in a closed space for a prototype of a subscriber device, general requirements for the development of an active node of a low-noise amplifier (LNA) of the receiving path of an NB-IoT transceiver are formulated. Based on the requirements and design standards of the 180-nm CMOS process, a prototype of an LNA is developed for operation as part of an NB-IoT transceiver of a subscriber terminal. The prototype low noise amplifier is designed in three stages and has a noise figure of 1.7 dB in the n7 frequency range with a gain of 25 dB. Digital CMOS libraries are adapted to unify and reduce the cost of the development process of analog nodes of the transceiver path, in this case an LNA.
The testing of various turbulence models was conducted when calculating separated swirling flows. For burning simulation, a simple phenomenological model is presented. The model takes into account ...the gas swirling effect on the velocity of flame propagation. The developed technique is applied to the calculation of the burn-out of a lean mixture in model combustion chambers with three-tier swirlers. It is shown that the reversed organization of combustion with outside ignition is more efficient than the scheme with inside ignition. In the calculations, the mutual swirling of the flows behind the swirlers was varied and its effect on the burn-out rate of the mixture was considered.
