This article is devoted to the canonical problem of the radio-wave propagation in the presence of multiple knife-edges. The system of integral equations in a spectral domain for the scattered field ...is derived. On the basis of its solution diffraction and reflection effects spawned by the multiple knife-edges may be accurately modeled. The electromagnetic field is generated by a source of the monochromatic radio waves with an arbitrary beam pattern. The efficient numerical solution to the proposed equation is given. The comparison with the two-way parabolic equation (PE) method, the uniform theory of diffraction (UTD) method, and the finite element method (FEM) is presented.
Abstract This case report describes the management of a 27-year-old lady's partially auto-amputated heteropagus omphalopagus acardiac twin. This was a rare case that resulted in the parasitic twin's ...bowel being located extra-peritoneal but within the abdominal wall of the host twin.

Abstract We report a term neonate with a congenital patent urachus with bladder prolapse. Initial antenatal fetal morphology ultrasound at 13 weeks gestation revealed a large midline pelvic cyst ...communicating with the bladder which disappeared on subsequent 23 week ultrasound and instead a small umbilical mass was seen, suspicious of omphalocoele. At birth, an umbilical eversion of the bladder dome through a patent urachus was found and operated on a second day of life with excision of the prolapse and bladder closure. There were no other co-existing anomalies and postoperative complications. With increased reporting on bladder prolapse through a patent urachus, we present a case report with a brief review of published literature.
Beam deflection due to axial channeling in a silicon crystal bent along the 111 axis was observed with 400 GeV/c protons at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron. The condition for doughnut scattering of ...protons by the atomic strings of the crystal was attained. Such a condition allowed one to observe a beam deflection of 50 murad with about 30% efficiency. The contribution of hyperchanneled states of protons to the observed beam deflection was less than 2% according to simulation results.
We conducted a systematic review of the literature to establish the prevalence of and predictive factors for parental decision regret in hypospadias surgery. A search strategy without language ...restrictions was developed with expert help, and two reviewers undertook independent study selection. Five studies were included in this review (four for quantitative analysis) with a total of 783 participants. The mean overall prevalence of parental decision regret was 65.2% (moderate to severe – 20.3%). Although significant predictors of regret were identified (post‐operative complications, small size glans, meatal location, decision conflict between parents, parental educational level and others), they had unexplained discordance between studies. Parental decision regret after proximal hypospadias surgery and refusing surgery was inadequately reported. In conclusion, even though the prevalence of parental decision regret after consenting for the hypospadias repair appears to be high, risk factors associated with it were discordant suggesting imprecision in estimates due to unknown confounders.
Goal: this paper considers the selling strategy of a highly liquid asset traded at market prices. The purpose of this paper is to develop a management that provides an improvement in the weighted ...average selling price. Methodology: it is assumed that market prices follow a diffusion process in which the drift and volatility coefficients are random functions of time. Under thegiven assumptions, using the stochastic differential equation theory we build a sales management in which only the prices of exchange transactions act as feedback. Findings: the management constructed in the present research allows the seller to hedge against sharp drops in market prices by artificially raising the weighted average selling price due to the implementation of a speculative trading strategy. Originality and contribution of the authors: in contrast to the management proposed earlier, this paper provides a lower limit on the minimum number of assets that must be traded, as well as constraints on the maximum possible number of assets allowed to be traded. Examples of virtual trading on real world exchanges are given, demonstrating the effect of the imposed restrictions on the values of the weighted average selling prices.
Parental decision regret in hypospadias surgery is a recognised source of long-lasting psycho-social morbidity. High parental decision regret after their child's hypospadias repair is reported. The ...aim of this study is to report on decision regret in Australian parents, who accepted and declined surgery for their son and explore underlying factors for decision-making, satisfaction, and regret.
An online anonymous survey was administered to three groups of parents: 1) parents who consented for hypospadias repair, 2) parents who declined repair and 3) a control group who requested circumcision for their child. Operations occurred between 2010 and 2020 in two paediatric hospitals in New South Wales, Australia. The survey included a validated decision regret assessment tool and additional questions to explore the possible basis of the opinions.
One hundred and eighteen parents (invited - 381, completed – 116, response rate - 31%) participated in the survey. Decision regret was present in group 1 (n = 89) – 55% (moderate-to-severe 15%), in group 2 (n = 14) – 71% (moderate-to-severe 57%), and in the control group (n = 15) – 15% (moderate-to-severe 8%) of parents. There was a significant difference in the median decision regret score between all three groups. Parents who chose hypospadias repair were mostly concerned about function.
The prevalence of decision regret among Australian parents who consented for their son's hypospadias repair was lower compared with the mean decision regret reported in the literature to date (55% vs 65%). Decision regret and its severity were highest among parents who declined hypospadias repair. New strategies are needed to reduce decision regret in parents whether they elect for surgery or not.
