The essential role of the particular families of capacities and the capacity identification methods is to help the decision maker to deal with the exponential complexity inherent in the construction ...process of the capacity. The 2-additive capacities appear to be the most popular among the particular families of capacities since they permit to model interactions between criteria while preserving simplicity. Besides the preference with respect to the decision criteria, most of the capacity identification methods also need to provide the desired overall evaluations of the decision alternatives in the learning set, which is a time-consuming task for the decision maker. In this paper, we propose some models to identify 2-additive capacities only from a kind of refined preference information with respect to the decision criteria called the multicriteria correlation preference information (MCCPI). The MCCPI is a group of 2-D preference information which can be described and obtained by the refined diamond diagram. The common principle of the proposed models is to minimize the different kinds of deviations between the MCCPI and the most desired 2-additive capacity(ies). A multicriteria decision making example is presented to show the feasibility of the proposed methods, and a 2-D scale of the MCCPI is also introduced in the further discussion of the illustrative example.
Major anti-inflammatory agents, steroids and cyclooxygenase, were proved to have serious side effects. Here, a series of chalcone derivatives were synthesized and screened for anti-inflammatory ...activities. QSAR study revealed that the presence of electron-withdrawing groups in B-ring and electron-donating groups in A-ring of chalcones was important for inhibition of LPS-induced IL-6 expression. Further, compounds 22, 23, 26, 40, and 47 inhibited TNF-α and IL-6 release in a dose-dependent manner and decreased LPS-induced TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-12, and COX-2 mRNA production. Mechanistically, compounds 23 and 26 interfered with JNK/NF-κB signaling and dose-dependently prevented ERK and p38 activation. In addition, 23 and 26 exhibited a significant protection against LPS-induced death and were able to block high glucose-activated cytokine profiles in macrophages. Together, these data show a series of anti-inflammatory chalcones with potential therapeutic effects in inflammatory diseases.
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has become one of the most common malignant tumors. Emerging evidence has shown that tumor resistance to apoptosis by damaging or bypassing apoptotic cell death is ...a major contributor to poor responses to therapy in patients with NSCLC. Pyroptosis is a new type of cytolytic and inflammatory programmed death distinct from apoptosis. Currently, pyroptosis has been reported to cause a strong inflammatory response and significant tumor suppression. It is considered a promising therapeutic strategy and prognosis for NSCLC. In this review, we summarized the characteristics of pyroptosis from its underlying basis and role in NSCLC, thereby providing the potential of pyroptosis as a therapeutic strategy and highlighting the challenges of activating pyroptosis in NSCLC treatment.
Accurate detection and classification of power quality (PQ) disturbances is an essential prerequisite for PQ mitigation. To address this issue, a new PQ assessment framework based on modified ...empirical wavelet transform (MEWT) and light gradient boosting machine (LightGBM) is proposed here. First, the frequency estimation mechanism and band segmentation rule of empirical wavelet transform (EWT) is modified, which makes EWT suitable for analysing complex PQ signals. Second, based on the PQ disturbance analysis results of MEWT, 8 characteristic curves are defined and statistical features are extracted in both the time and frequency domain. Third, binary relevance‐based LightGBM (BR‐LightGBM) is designed for the multilabel classification of massive PQ events. Considering the impact of input features and model structure, feature selection and hyper parameter optimization are conducted for achieving better classification performance. Finally, extensive experiments based on synthetic data and two groups of measured data show the effectiveness of the proposed method on 48 types of complex PQ disturbances. Compared with other algorithms for multiple PQ signals, the proposed method is fast for computation and performs better in classification accuracy and robustness, which is a prospective alternative for the PQ monitoring system.
Endotoxin-induced acute inflammatory diseases such as sepsis, mediated by excessive production of various proinflammatory cytokines, remain the leading cause of mortality in critically ill patients. ...Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), the characteristic endotoxin found in the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, can induce the innate immunity system and through the myeloid differentiation protein 2 (MD2) and Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) complex, increase the production of inflammatory mediators. Our previous studies have found that a curcumin analog, L48H37 1-ethyl-3,5-bis(3,4,5-trimethoxybenzylidene)piperidin-4-one, was able to inhibit LPS-induced inflammation, particularly tumor necrosis factor α and interleukin 6 production and gene expression in mouse macrophages. In this study, a series of biochemical experiments demonstrate L48H37 specifically targets MD2 and inhibits the interaction and signaling transduction of LPS-TLR4/MD2. L48H37 binds to the hydrophobic region of MD2 pocket and forms hydrogen bond interactions with Arg(90) and Tyr(102). Subsequently, L48H37 was shown to suppress LPS-induced mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphorylation and nuclear factor κB activation in macrophages; it also dose dependently inhibits the cytokine expression in macrophages and human peripheral blood mononuclear cells stimulated by LPS. In LPS-induced septic mice, both pretreatment and treatment with L48H37 significantly improved survival and protected lung injury. Taken together, this work identified a new MD2 specific inhibitor, L48H37, as a potential candidate in the treatment of sepsis.
In modern power system, the connection between distribution network and distributed integrated energy system is becoming increasingly prevalent, which greatly influenced the operation strategy and ...reliability of the traditional distribution network. To evaluate the reliability of distribution network more precisely, a reliability evaluation method considering the integration impact of distributed integrated energy system is proposed. Firstly, the structure and mathematical model of the united energy system are described. Secondly, taking the minimum sum of operation and load reduction cost as the objective function, the optimal load reduction models of distribution network and distributed integrated energy system are established. Due to the interest game between these two systems, analytical target cascading theory is applied to deal with the decoupling of these two models. Thirdly, the reliability evaluation of the united system is performed based on Monte Carlo Simulation method. The simulation study of a modified IEEE RBTS system with a distributed integrated energy system indicates the effectiveness of the proposed method.
The structure-activity relationship (SAR) between toxicity and the types of linking ketones of C7 bridged monocarbonyl curcumin analogs (MCAs) was not clear yet. In the pursuit of effective and less ...cytotoxic chemotherapeutics, we conducted a SAR analysis using various diketene skeletons of C7-bridged MCAs, synthesized cyclic C7-bridged MCAs containing the identified low-toxicity cyclopentanone scaffold and an
-methoxy phenyl group, and assessed their anti-gastric cancer activity and safety profile. Most compounds exhibited potent cytotoxic activities against gastric cancer cells. We developed a quantitative structure-activity relationship model (
> 0.82) by random Forest method, providing important information for optimizing structure. An optimized compound 2 exhibited
and
anti-gastric cancer activity partly through inhibiting the AKT and STAT3 pathways, and displayed a favorable
safety profile. In summary, this paper provided a promising class of MCAs and a potential compound for the development of chemotherapeutic drugs.
In software definition networks, we allow transmission paths to be selected based on real-time data traffic monitoring to avoid congested channels. Correspondingly, this motivates us to study the ...existence of fractional factors in different settings. In this paper, we present several extend sufficient conditions for a graph admits ID-Hamiltonian fractional (
)factor. These results improve the conclusions originally published in the study by Gong et al. 2.
For a comprehensive understanding of cells or tissues, it is important to enable multiple studies under the controllable microenvironment of a chip. In this report, we present an integrated ...microfluidic cell culture platform in which endothelial cells (ECs) are under static conditions or exposed to a pulsatile and oscillatory shear stress. Through the integration of a microgap, self-contained flow loop, pneumatic pumps, and valves, the novel microfluidic chip achieved multiple functions: pulsatile and oscillatory fluid circulation, cell trapping, cell culture, the formation of ECs barrier, and adding shear stress on cells. After being introduced into the chip by gravity, the ECs arranged along the microgap with the help of hydrodynamic forces and grew in the microchannel for more than 7 days. The cells proliferated and migrated to form a barrier at the microgap to mimic the vessel wall, which separated the microenvironment into two compartments, microchannel and microchamber. An optimized pneumatic micropump was embedded to actuate flow circulation in a self-contained loop that induced a pulsatile and oscillatory shear stress at physiological levels on the ECs in the microchannel. All the analyses were performed under either static or dynamic conditions. The performance of the barrier was evaluated by the diffusion and distribution behaviors of fluorescently labeled albumin. The permeability of the barrier was comparable to that in traditional in vitro assays. The concentration gradients of the tracer formed in the microchamber can potentially be used to study cell polarization, migration and communications in the future. Additionally, the morphology and cytoskeleton of the ECs response to the pulsatile and oscillatory shear stress were analyzed. The microfluidic chip provided a multifunctional platform to enable comprehensive studies of blood vessels at the cell or tissue level.
