We report on the observation of high-temperature (Tc) superconductivity and magnetic vortices in single-unit-cell FeSe films on anatase TiO2(001) substrate by using scanning tunneling microscopy. A ...systematic study and engineering of interfacial properties has clarified the essential roles of substrate in realizing the high-Tc superconductivity, probably via interface-induced electron-phonon coupling enhancement and charge transfer. By visualizing and tuning the oxygen vacancies at the interface, we find their very limited effect on the superconductivity, which excludes interfacial oxygen vacancies as the primary source for charge transfer between the substrate and FeSe films. Our findings have placed severe constraints on any microscopic model for the high-Tc superconductivity in FeSe-related heterostructures.
Dyslipidemia is a modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD). We investigated the prevalence and associated risk factors of dyslipidemia- raised total cholesterol (TC), raised ...triglycerides (TG), raised low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), low high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C), and raised non-high-density lipoprotein (non-HDL-C) in rural and urban China.
We analyzed data from 136,945 participants aged 40-100 years of the CNSSPP project for 2014. Dyslipidemia was defined by the NCEP-ATP III and the 2016 Chinese guidelines for the management of dyslipidemia in adults. Complete data on demographic, metabolic and lifestyle characteristics were used. Chi-square tests and multivariable logistic regression were used to obtain age- and sex-adjusted prevalence and risk factors for dyslipidemia among participants.
A total of 53.1% participants lived in rural areas. The prevalence of dyslipidemia was similar among rural and urban participants (43.2% vs. 43.3%). Regarding the components of dyslipidemia: urban compared with rural participants had a higher prevalence of low HDL-C (20.8% vs. 19.2%), whereas the prevalence of raised LDL-C (7.8% vs. 8.3%), raised TC (10.9% vs.11.8%) and raised non-HDL-C (10.0% vs. 10.9%) were lower in urban residents, (all p < 0.001). Women were more likely to have raised TC than men (adjusted OR AOR =1.83, 95% confidence interval CI:1.75-1.91), raised LDL-C (AOR = 1.55, 95% CI: 1.47-1.63) and high non-HDL-C (AOR = 1.52 95% CI: 1.45-1.59) (all p < 0.001). Compared with rural, urban participants had higher odds of dyslipidemia: low HDL-C (AOR = 1.04, 95% CI: 1.01-1.07), and raised TG (AOR = 1.06, 95% CI: 1.04-1.09). Hypertension and current drinker were less likely to get low HDL-C with AOR 0.93 (95% CI: 0.90-0.96) and AOR 0.73 (95% CI: 0.70-75), respectively. Overweight, obesity, central obesity and diabetes had higher odds of all dyslipidemias (p < 0.001).
Low HDL-C was higher in urban areas, whereas the remaining dyslipidemia types were more common in rural areas. Dyslipidemia was more common in women in both areas of residence. Overweight, obesity, central obesity and diabetes were associated with dyslipidemias. The need to intensify intervention programs to manage dyslipidemia and risk factors should be prioritized.
For wearable capacitive electrocardiogram (ECG) acquisition, capacitive electrodes may cause severe motion artifacts due to the relatively large friction between the electrodes and the dielectrics. ...In some studies, water can effectively suppress motion artifacts, but these studies lack a complete analysis of how water can suppress motion artifacts. In this paper, the effect of water on charge decay of textile electrode is studied systematically, and an electrode controllable humidification design using ultrasonic atomization is proposed to suppress motion artifacts. Compared with the existing electrode humidification designs, the proposed electrode humidification design can be controlled by a program to suppress motion artifacts at different ambient humidity, and can be highly integrated for wearable application. Firstly, the charge decay mode of the textile electrode is given and it is found that the process of free water evaporation at an appropriate free water content can be the dominant way of triboelectric charge dissipation. Secondly, theoretical analysis and experiment verification both illustrate that water contained in electrodes can accelerate the decay of triboelectric charge through the free water evaporation path. Finally, a capacitive electrode controllable humidification design is proposed by applying integrated ultrasonic atomization to generate atomized drops and spray them onto textile electrodes to accelerate the decay of triboelectric charge and suppress motion artifacts. The performance of the proposed design is verified by the experiment results, which shows that the proposed design can effectively suppress motion artifacts and maintain the stability of signal quality at both low and high ambient humidity. The signal-to-noise ratio of the proposed design is 33.32 dB higher than that of the non-humidified design at 25% relative humidity and is 22.67 dB higher than that of non-humidified electrodes at 65% relative humidity.
Vegetable cultivation during winter season is economically profitable, but the impact of the intensive production on soil and water quality remains to be studied. The objectives of this study were to ...investigate the seasonal dynamics of soil nutrients, acidification and salt accumulation in vegetable fields in South-Eastern China. Various vegetables were grown either under open-field conditions or under two different alternating open-field and greenhouse conditions with three replications. Soil samples were collected periodically and analyzed for pH, plant available nitrogen (N), phosphorous (P), potassium (K), electrical conductivity (EC), and urease activity. Water samples from wells located in or near the plots were collected and analyzed for nitrate. Soil nitrate, available phosphate and salt concentrations declined in summer under open-field conditions and significantly increased from December to May under greenhouse conditions. Exchangeable K also decreased in summer season, but did not increase in the spring. Under alternating open-field and greenhouse conditions, nutrient accumulation, soil salinity and acidification were significantly higher for soil used for vegetable cultivation for 2 years (2-y-plot) than that for only half year (0.5-y-plot). The accumulation of nitrate significantly correlated with soil EC and soil acidification. Thirty-two percent of groundwater samples from the 2-y-plot showed a nitrate concentration higher than 50 mg NO₃ l⁻¹. Conversely, no groundwater sample of 0.5-y-plot showed such high nitrate concentration. It can be concluded that the nitrate accumulation in soil used for vegetable cultivation under alternating open-field and greenhouse conditions not only causes soil salinization and soil acidification but also presents a high pollution potential for groundwater.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) frequently coexists with obstructive coronary artery disease (OCAD), which are at increased risk for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to ...investigate the impact of coronary obstruction on myocardial microcirculation function in T2DM patients, and explore independent predictors of reduced coronary microvascular perfusion.
Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) scanning was performed on 297 T2DM patients {188 patients without OCAD T2DM(OCAD -) and 109 with T2DM(OCAD +)} and 89 control subjects. CMR-derived perfusion parameters, including upslope, max signal intensity (MaxSI), and time to maximum signal intensity (TTM) in global and segmental (basal, mid-ventricular, and apical slices) were measured and compared among observed groups. According to the median of Gensini score (64), T2DM(OCAD +) patients were subdivided into two groups. Univariable and multivariable linear regression analyses were performed to identify independent predictors of microcirculation dysfunction.
T2DM(OCAD -) patients, when compared to control subjects, had reduced upslope and prolonged TTM in global and all of three slices (all P < 0.05). T2DM(OCAD +) patients showed a significantly more severe impairment of microvascular perfusion than T2DM(OCAD -) patients and control subjects with a more marked decline upslope and prolongation TTM in global and three slices (all P < 0.05). From control subjects, through T2DM(OCAD +) patients with Gensini score ≤ 64, to those patients with Gensini score > 64 group, the upslope declined and TTM prolonged progressively in global and mid-ventricular slice (all P < 0.05). The presence of OCAD was independently correlated with reduced global upslope (β = - 0.104, P < 0.05) and global TTM (β = 0.105, P < 0.05) in patients with T2DM. Among T2DM(OCAD +) patients, Gensini score was associated with prolonged global TTM (r = 0.34, P < 0.001).
Coronary artery obstruction in the context of T2DM exacerbated myocardial microcirculation damage. The presence of OCAD and Gensini score were independent predictors of decreased microvascular function.
Retrospectively registered.
In this study, we report a facile, environmental friendly fabrication of a type of magnetic metal-organic framework (MOF) MIL-100 that can be used for magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE). The ...magnetic MOF composites were fabricated using in situ calcination method. The as-synthesized materials exhibited both high porosity and magnetic characteristics. They used for the MSPE of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from water samples. Such MOF-based magnetic solid-phase extraction in combination with gas chromatography equipped with a flame ionization detector (GC-FID), exhibited wide linearity (0.02–250μgL−1), low detection limits (4.6-8.9ngL−1), and high enrichment factors (452–907) for PAHs. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) for intra- and inter-day extractions of PAHs were ranging from 1.7% to 9.8% and 3.8% to 9.2%, respectively. The recoveries for spiked PAHs (1μgL−1) in water samples were in the range of 88.5% to 106.6%. The results showed that the special anion-π orbital (electron donor-acceptor) interaction and π-π stacking between magnetic MIL-100 and PAHs play an important role in the adsorption of PAHs.
Low power and high switching ratio are the development direction of the next generation of resistive random access memory (RRAM). Previous techniques could not increase the switching ratio while ...reducing the SET power. Here, we report a method to fabricate low-power and high-switching-ratio RRAM by adjusting the interstice radius (r g) between the van der Waals (vdW) layers of transitional-metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), which simultaneously increases the switching ratio and reduces the SET power. The SET voltage, SET power, switching ratio and endurance of the device are strongly correlated with r g. When the ratio of r g to the radius of the metal ions that form the conductive filaments (r g/r Ag+ ) is near 1, the SET voltage and SET power vertically decrease while the switching ratio vertically rises with increasing r g/r Ag+ . For the fabricated Ag/SnS2/poly(methyl methacrylate)/Cu RRAM with an r g/r Ag+ of 1.04, the SET voltage, SET power and switching ratio are 0.14 V, 10–10 W and 106, respectively. After 104 switching cycles and a 104 s retention time, the switching ratio of the device can still be stable above 106. Bending has no influence on the performance of the device when the bending radius is not <2 mm.
Solution‐gated graphene transistors with graphene as both channel and gate electrodes are fabricated for the first time and used as dopamine sensors with the detection limit down to 1 nM, which is ...three orders of magnitude better than that of conventional electrochemical measurements. The sensing mechanism is attributed to the change of effective gate voltage applied on the transistors induced by the electro‐oxidation of dopamine at the graphene gate electrodes. The interference from glucose, uric acid, and ascorbic acid on the dopamine sensor is characterized. The selectivity of the dopamine sensor is dramatically improved by modifying the gate electrode with a thin Nafion film by solution process. This work paves the way for developing many other biosensors based on the solution‐gated graphene transistors by specifically functionalizing the gate electrodes. Because the devices are mainly made of graphene, they are potentially low cost and ideal for high‐density integration as multifunctional sensor arrays.

Optical birefringence and dichroism are classical and important effects originating from two independent polarizations of optical waves in anisotropic crystals. Furthermore, the distinct dispersion ...relations of transverse electric and transverse magnetic polarized electromagnetic waves in photonic crystals can lead to birefringence more easily. However, it is impossible for acoustic waves in the fluid to show such a birefringence because only the longitudinal mode exists. The emergence of an artificial sonic crystal (SC) has significantly broadened the range of acoustic materials in nature that can give rise to acoustic bandgaps and be used to control the propagation of acoustic waves. Recently, negative refraction has attracted a lot of attention and has been demonstrated in both left-handed materials and photonic crystals. Similar to left-handed materials and photonic crystals, negative refractions have also been found in SCs. Here we report, for the first time, the acoustic negative-birefraction phenomenon in a two-dimensional SC, even with the same frequency and the same 'polarization' state. By means of this feature, double focusing images of a point source have been realized. This birefraction concept may be extended to other periodic systems corresponding to other forms of waves, showing great impacts on both fundamental physics and device applications.
This paper investigates the robust H∞ fault detection problem for networked control systems with Markov time-delays and data packet loss in both S/C and C/A channels. First, the time-delay from ...sensor to controller (S/C) and the time-delay from sensor to actuator (C/A) are described by two different Markov chains. Two random variables obeying the Bernoulli distribution are used to describe the packet loss between the sensor and the controller together between the controller and the actuator. Based on this, a fault detection filter is constructed and the closed-loop system mathematical model is established. Then, the solution method of the fault detection filter and controller gain matrix is given. The relationship between the probability of successful packet transmission and the ability to suppress external disturbance is obtained. Finally, simulation verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method.
