-glucose, PGG), the diagnostic neutral loss (NL) of 170 Da was chosen for the non-targeted screening of GT precursors. Simultaneously, the tandem mass spectrometry spectrum (MS/MS) information was acquired through an enhanced product ion (EPI) scan. Nine major GTs were identified in tree peony. To quantify the targeted GTs in different tissues of tree peony, we established a multiple reaction monitoring (MRM)-enhanced product ion (EPI)-based pseudo-targeted approach under the information-dependent acquisition (IDA) mode. The quantitative results show that the GT compounds were ubiquitous in tree peony plants with diverse structures. The typical GT PGG was mainly distributed in roots, leaves, and petals. This strategy can also be utilized for metabolite characterization and quantification in other substrates.
The phenomenon of “fake women” sparked indignant discourses chastising it as an epitome of the loss of Chinese manhood and a threat to the nation-state. Experts, counselors, and educators called for ...“saving boys” through revamping the education system and underscoring gender-difference education in schools and families. Effeminate men have become a scapegoat upon which anxiety over the current social problems such as dissolved marriages is displaced. While a dissolved family is pinpointed as one of the key factors that can lead to a child’s effeminacy and gender misrecognition, the media also portrays the lack of manhood not only as a public menace and a threat to the family, but also as a metaphor for passive masculinity and national crisis. Drawing on research of print and electronic media in China from 2010 to 2012, this paper enlightens the inextricably intertwined relationships between a lack of manhood and the strength of the state in the globalizing era of China. It is argued that the crisis of masculinity in effeminate men is considered a peril to the security of the nation because it reflects powerlessness, inferiority, feminized passivity, and social deterioration, reminiscent of the colonial past when China was defeated by the colonizing West and plagued by its image as the “sick man” of East Asia.

This article not only examines the historical processes that have helped produce the entrepreneurial masculinities in postsocialist China, but also the nuanced ways in which the place of Dalian, the Chinese state, and the space of bars have facilitated the production of entrepreneurial masculinities articulated in everyday activities. Such an exploration contributes to the literature on the spatial politics of geographic knowledge production and the geographical understandings of the salience of masculinities and femininities, the potency of place and the impact of the politics and the economy on social relationships.
A laser coherent detection system of 1550 nm wavelength was presented, and experimental research on detecting micro-Doppler effect in a dynamic target was developed. In this paper, the return signal ...in the time domain is decomposed into a set of components in different wavelet-scales by multi-resolution analysis, and the components are associated with the vibrational motions in a target. The micro-Doppler signatures are extracted by applying the reconstruction (inverse wavelet transform). During the course of the final data processing frequency analysis and time-frequency analysis are applied to analyze the vibrational signals and estimate the motion parameters successfully. The experimental results indicate that the micro-Doppler information in a moving can be effectively detected, and tiny vibrational signatures also can be acquired effectively by wavelet multi-resolution analysis and time-frequency analysis.

NiMn-based Heusler alloys are promising materials in the multi-functional applications due to their ample magneto-responsive effects across martensitic transformation, such as magnetocaloric effect, magnetostriction and magnetoresistance. In this work, the evolution of microstructure, large magnetocaloric and magnetoresistance effects during martensitic transformation are systematically studied in a Ni44Co6Mn37In13 alloy. Magnetic and caloric measurements verify that the martensite in weak magnetic state would gradually transform to be ferromagnetic austenite upon heating. The temperature dependence of microstructure observed in an in-situ optical microscopy unambiguously verify the ‘kinetic arrest’ of martensitic transformation. Most importantly, due to the high sensitivity of transformation to the magnetic field, large magnetocaloric and magnetoresistance effects near room temperature are obtained, including magnetic entropy changes of 8.4 Jkg-1K−1, effective refrigerant capacity of 181 Jkg−1 and magnetoresistance change of 75 % under the field change of Δμ0H = 0–5 T, making the studied sample promising for room temperature magnetic refrigeration and magnetic storage.
