A number of chemicals may have a negative impact on the environment and wildlife. Endocrine disruptors (EDs), which can mimic estrogen, interfere with natural hormones in organism and can have a ...negative effect on the reproductive system. Such substances include zearalenone (ZEA) - mycotoxin, produced by the fungi Fusarium. Despite the non-steriodal structure of its molecule, ZEA and its derivates possess potent estrogenic activity. The influence of ZEA on reproductive parameters and changes in expression of selected genes were tested in the outbred line of mice. This study showed significant effects of ZEA on number of reproductive performances. This effect was observed at lower examined dose, to which are humans normally exposed, and at higher doses, both showed changes in the tested parameters.
Molecular biological changes in endometrial carcinoma Endometrial cancer is the most common cancer of the female reproductive tract. The incidence has increased with lifestyle and environmental ...changes. Similar to other cancers, endometrial cancer has been shown to be a complex disease driven by different factors, including genetic and epigenetic alterations. Understanding these changes underlaying cancer development or progression is important for finding of new standards for both diagnosis and therapy of individual patients. The aim of the study was to evaluate selected molecular biological changes in endometrial carcinoma comparing to non-neoplastic endometrium. The first specific aim was to compare presence of K- ras mutation in early stages of endometrioid type of endometrial carcinoma with normal endometrium, and to evaluate association to clinical-pathological characteristics (tumor stage and grade). We analyzed 79 samples of endometrium (59 samples of endometrioid endometrial carcinoma stage I, and 20 samples of normal, non-neoplastic endometrium). Detection of K-ras mutation was made by using of K-ras StripAssay™ (ViennaLab Diagnostics GmbH). The frequency of K-ras mutation in the carcinoma group did not differ from the group of control samples (24% vs. 15%). No association between K-ras...
This diploma thesis was focused on the possibility of using a plasma nozzle to accelerate the wound healing process. The benefits of using low-temperature plasma in medicine or biomedical ...applications are known from many studies, and low-temperature plasma is already used to sterilize medical devices, materials or surgical instruments. Some studies also report a high potential of usinh plasma nozzle in the treatment of skin wounds. In the experimental part of this work, an in vitro wound healing test was performed using two different low-temperature plasma sources. Source No. 1 was a surface wave microwave discharge and source No. 2 was a torch microwave discharge. An in vitro scratch healing test was performed on a monolayer of HaCaT keratinocytes and testing was performed using various parameters. The influence of the plasma treatment time was monitored, as well as the influence of the plasma discharge power and also the influence of the argon working gas flow. Especially when using a torch microwave discharge, faster wound healing was recorded at most of the parameters used compared to the control. Thus, it can be said that this source appears to be potentially suitable for faster wound healing. Furthermore, in the work using the MTT cytotoxicity test, the viability of skin cells after their plasmination was also monitored using the same conditions as in the in vitro wound healing test. When performed in the standard MTT assay, none of the settings or sources used showed any cytotoxic effects on keratinocytes. LDH cytotoxicity tests were also performed concurrently to verify the accuracy of the MTT assays. The results of both tests agreed and the use of low-temperature plasma in skin treatment can be considered as safe. Overall, the results show that the plasma nozzle can find use in medicine in the healing of skin wounds and chronic defects as a potentially fast, inexpensive and effective method.
The main objective of the master´s thesis was a design of the town house in the complicated topografical situation of the foothill of Pekařská street. The topography of the building site is ...influenced by its surroundings. The street Pekařská is lowering from east to west, but the road Anenská is rising from east to west. The biggest difference between the the lowest and the highest point of the site is 7,5 m. This situation enables to design three entrances to three different floors of the building. An outstanding point of the design of the house is a composition axis which is running up Pekařská street. The town house is facing this axis thus the main entrance of the house is accented. There was a compact house designed, which takes advantage of its very good position – there is a two-floor solution with a shopping mall. The hall in its middle is opening over two floors and it is lightened through a roof lightwell. On this platform is situated an „L“ shaped part of the building, which creates a protection against very noisy Pekařská street. The house is opening its form to the south, to a sunny roof garden. This garden is opened only for inhabitants of the house. The garden improves the quality of the living in the house and substitutes a green area, which used to be in this place. The shape of the building is lowering down from Pekařská street to Anenská road. There are some terraces designed this way to improve the living in the roof apartments and provide a beatiful view to the west.
The aim of the work is to analyze and describe the current status of the use of ICT in teaching and propose of appropriate use of ICT in education by the questionnaire survey of primary school ...pupils, secondary school students, teachers, and ICT coordinators in primary and secondary schools. The first four chapters are devoted to theory and explanation of basic concepts related to the topic of ICT in teaching. The first chapter defines the concept of ICT, its history, and it presents concrete examples of ICT. The second chapter focuses on ICT in teaching, learning theory, development of ICT application in education before and now, and the benefits of ICT in education. The third chapter describes roles in education in terms of ICT usage, such as the role of teachers and ICT coordinators, and attitudes of experts. The last theoretical part deals with international comparisons. The following chapters provide a description and analysis of the survey. The final chapter discusses the proposals and recommendations how to use ICT in teaching.
The thesis deals with the preparation of joint stock companies on the final accounts, therefore, preparation of financial statements. There are described and listed the various operations to be ...performed before the closure of the books and then assembling the financial statements. Subsequently, the entire theoretical part of the thesis are applied to the company Inovační technologické centrum - VÚK, a.s..
The aim of this work is to compare the rentability and risk of the shares and to find out which strategy would be the best to use to evaluate the money invested into selected companies from chosen ...branches of Paris stock exchange. The introduction of this work briefly describes the history, recent state and description of financial markets. In Czech conditions, this market is not suitable for similar comparison and analysis, therefore the analytic part of this work concentrates only on French stock exchange. Several statistic indicators are used for possible analysis of lucrativeness and risk rate (standard deviation, coefficient alpha, coefficient beta, variation coefficient), range of historical dates from the internet and other information. Historical dates, statistical markers, analysis and tests were used to establish and compare strategies used in investment in Paris stock exchange. Also used in the work are the findings of Czech and foreign authors who deal with the question. The aim of the practical part of this work is to put to use the theoretical knowledge and to find out which branches are best to invest into and vice-versa and which strategy to choose in order to make the most money or to loose as little money as possible.
