Abses hepar amebiasis merupakan manifestasi ekstra intestinal tersering yang disebabkan oleh Entamoeba histolytica. Peran metronidazole monoterapi merupakan pengobatan standar pada penyakit ini ...dengan ukuran abses kecil. Namun, penggunaan aspirasi perkutan pada abses hepar amebik masih belum jelas. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menilai pengaruh perbaikan klinis terhadap kombinasi aspirasi perkutan dengan metronidazole dibandingkan dengan metronidazole monoterapi pada pasien abses hepar amebik. Pencarian literatur melalui PubMed, Cochrane, ProQuest, dan Scopus dengan kata kunci sesuai pertanyaan klinis dan diseleksi berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Telaah kritis dilakukan menggunakan Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine critical appraisal tool. Dua artikel ditelaah kritis berdasarkan validity, importance, dan applicability. Kedua studi dinilai valid, penting, dan aplikabel. Studi Kumar et al menunjukkan penggunaan kombinasi aspirasi perkutan dan metronidazole lebih cepat dalam resolusi nyeri dan nyeri tekan abdomen. Studi Chavez et al juga menemukan kombinasi aspirasi perkutan dan metronidazole lebih cepat dalam resolusi nyeri, nyeri tekan abdomen, dan lama rawat inap. Penggunaan kombinasi aspirasi perkutan dan metronidazole dapat digunakan pada pasien abses hepar amebik karena mempercepat perbaikan klinis, seperti nyeri, nyeri tekan abdomen, dan lama rawat inap.
AbstractThese are some of Gibran's unpublished letters to Archbishop Antonious Bashīr. They were unknown and unpublished until November 11, 2004, when they appeared in the original Arabic in the ...Lebanese daily newspaper, Al-Nahār (Almulhaq). According to Al-Nahār, these letters remained hidden among the archives of the Greek Orthodox Diocese in North America. It appears that Archbishop Philip Salība one day was searching in the old files of his predecessor, Antonious Bashīr, when he accidentally found these letters. Apparently, Gibran had written them to his friend, Antonious Bash¬r, who was also the translator of the Prophet into Arabic. The Lebanese newspaper adds that these letters acquire great importance as they constitute, on the one hand, a dialogue between the author and his translator, and on the other, they form part of Gibran's great literary heritage of which many hidden treasures have not yet been discovered.

Background: Ivermectin has demonstrated beneficial results on clinical outcomes in COVID-19 patients. Several countries have included ivermectin in their guidelines, though WHO recommended against ...its usage. Therefore, this study was aimed to establish the clinical outcomes of ivermectin in COVID-19 patients by an evidence-based method.
Method: Article searching was completed in PubMed, Cochrane, and Scopus from July 9 - 10 2021. The results were limited to only systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Hand searching was conducted to obtain relevant studies from external resources. The results were evaluated using inclusion and exclusion criteria. The full texts were obtained and critically reviewed using Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine critical appraisal tools.
Result: Three systematic reviews and meta-analyses were selected and critically reviewed. All three studies were considered valid, important, and applicable. However, the quality of these studies varied from low to high.
Conclusion: Overall studies showed that ivermectin has the potential to improve clinical outcomes in COVID-19 patients.
