Early hopes that a multilateral economy could be speedily restored after World War II were shattered by the sterling crisis of 1947. In the ensuing retreat to bilateralism, Canada acted vigorously to ...strengthen economic links with the Americans, and in the late 1940s its export dependence on the United States increased dramatically. The Australian response to the crisis was to tighten trading and financial connections with Britain and the rest of the sterling area. The limitations of UK supply capacity, however, eventually encouraged a reversal of policy after the fall of the Labor government, and Australia turned to the dollar area to tap additional resources for accelerated economic development.

The article is intended to give a short contribution to the understanding of the period, in which the Communist Party of Yugoslavia assumed power with the intention to carry out its revolutionary ...reorganisation of society in accordance with Marxist doctrines and by applying the USSR's experience, from the point of view of the destiny of political parties, movements and churches in Croatia.
Interdisciplinarnim pristupom autorica analizira nosivu poziciju Komunističke partije Jugoslavije - marksizam-lenjinizam unutar neposrednog poratnoga konteksta (1945-1950). Osnovna je teza da je zbog ...niza historijskih i drugih razloga u navedenom razdoblju, umjesto teorijske razrade, na djelu bila ideologijska funkcija marksizma. Stoga autorica upućuje na izravnu vezu marksizma-lenjinizma i platforme ideologijskog rada, koju na više razina istražuje, te historijski rekonstruira. To se naročito odnosi na ulogu i djelatnost Agitpropa CK KPH u konstruiranju ideosfere i na razne oblike ideologijskog rada u Hrvatskoj. Posebno se ukazuje na implikacije nekritičkog prenošenja sovjetskoga teorijskog iskustva na jugoslavensku duhovnu zbilju, no isto tako navješćuju pretpostavke za teorijsku emancipaciju i posebnost jugoslavenskoga socijalističkog puta nakon sukoba s Informbiroom 1948. godine.
