The advancement in wireless communications requires the integration of multiple radios into a single platform to maximize connectivity. In this paper, the design process of reconfigurable antennas is ...discussed. Reconfigurable antennas are proposed to cover different wireless services that operate over a wide frequency range. They show significant promise in addressing new system requirements. They exhibit the ability to modify their geometries and behavior to adapt to changes in surrounding conditions. Reconfigurable antennas can deliver the same throughput as a multiantenna system. They use dynamically variable and adaptable single-antenna geometry without increasing the real estate required to accommodate multiple antennas. The optimization of reconfigurable antenna design and operation by removing unnecessary redundant switches to alleviate biasing issues and improve the system's performance is discussed. Controlling the antenna reconfiguration by software, using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) or microcontrollers is introduced herein. The use of Neural Networks and its integration with graph models on programmable platforms and its effect on the operation of reconfigurable antennas is presented. Finally, the applications of reconfigurable antennas for cognitive radio, Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) channels, and space applications are highlighted.
Using different chaotic systems in secure communication, nonlinear control, and many other applications has revealed that these systems have several drawbacks in different aspects. This can cause ...unfavorable effects to chaos-based applications. Therefore, presenting a chaotic map with complex behaviors is considered important. In this paper, we introduce a new 2D chaotic map, namely, the 2D infinite-collapse-Sine model (2D-ICSM). Various metrics including Lyapunov exponents and bifurcation diagrams are used to demonstrate the complex dynamics and robust hyperchaotic behavior of the 2D-ICSM. Furthermore, the cross-correlation coefficient, phase space diagram, and Sample Entropy algorithm prove that the 2D-ICSM has a high sensitivity to initial values and parameters, extreme complexity performance, and a much larger hyperchaotic range than existing maps. To empirically verify the efficiency and simplicity of the 2D-ICSM in practical applications, we propose a symmetric secure communication system using the 2D-ICSM. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the validity of the proposed system.
A special cyber-physical system is developed to control transient heat and mass transfer during the commissioning of the unified oil production complex consisted of oil reservoir, producing well ...equipped with electric submersible centrifugal pump, well production tree and ground-based control station. Two main elements of cyber-physical system are following:
– computer simulator of heat and mass transfer in virtual oil production complex based on mathematical and numerical models of such processes along with simultaneous visualization of computational results;
– portable imitation hardware of real ground-based equipment which is realized as 3D-printed plastic model consisted of control elements (pipeline valves, drossel chamber, ground-based control station) and recording devices (manometers, level indicator, liquid sampler and control station itself). Mechanisms of these elements are replaced by Arduino microchips to simulate the operation of real devices. An important feature of the cyber-physical system is the data exchange and interaction between oil production computer simulator and microcontroller software. Data transfer is going through the COM-ports of computer and microcontroller. The simulator sends calculated working characteristics of oil production complex to the memory of microcontroller, which not only analyzes incoming data but also displays it on the recording devices and forms necessary control parameters, which are sent back to simulator and affect the further behavior of the whole complex. Different elements of the CPS provides the possibility to control and visualize the commissioning of the oil production complex under consideration and the whole system is oriented to simulate the real technological actions performing by specialists in oil production.
Research and practice have shown that female students are less interested in engineering and programming. This is related to gender stereotypes and technological self-efficacy. Research has also ...pointed out that students in rural schools tend to do less well in STEM subjects and are less likely to pursue STEM studies than their peers from large cities. Previous studies have highlighted the benefits of hands-on real-world-related engineering projects by building connections with students’ interests and technology while giving them something exciting to focus on. This study is aimed at investigating whether and how students’ individual characteristics (such as attitudes toward engineering and technology, motivation, and technology anxiety) are associated with rural school students’ engagement, gender differences, and inclusion in sustainable ecological engineering activities with Arduino microcontrollers. Surveys were conducted before and after the activity with pupils of a rural lower secondary school (ages 13–15). The results show that, female students’ initial attitude toward engineering and technology was significantly less positive than that of male students. Despite being novices in physical computing, a whole group of pupils were intrinsically motivated while performing these activities. The findings of this study provide transferable insights into practical STEM education that may strengthen students’ engagement, motivation, and achievement in STEM. The implications of the results of this study can be useful for a better understanding of the individual factors of students that influence future engineering activity design and STEM career selection opportunities.
Symmetry can play an important role in the field of nonlinear systems and especially in the design of nonlinear circuits that produce chaos. Therefore, this Special Issue, titled “Symmetry in Chaotic ...Systems and Circuits”, presents the latest scientific advances in nonlinear chaotic systems and circuits that introduce various kinds of symmetries. Applications of chaotic systems and circuits with symmetries, or with a deliberate lack of symmetry, are also presented in this Special Issue. The volume contains 14 published papers from authors around the world. This reflects the high impact of this Special Issue.
La calidad del agua de un estanque en el campo de la acuicultura tiene un papel muy importante para el éxito del cultivo o crianza de camarones. Los parámetros del agua son variables que pueden ...afectar la salud del animal o afectar en un crecimiento tardío y una reproducción lenta. Los parámetros del agua se miden comúnmente de manera manual con la ayuda de instrumentos de medición para conocer su estado. Los datos de las mediciones permiten notar cambios y tomar decisiones ante emergencias. Se desarrolla un sistema de monitoreo remoto, con el objetivo de automatizar el proceso de toma de datos y evitar accidentes con las especies en observación, éste incluye nodos con sensores para medir parámetros del agua, sensores ambientales, módulo de comunicación inalámbrica XBee y microcontrolador Arduino. El trabajo en conjunto permite la toma de lecturas programadas o en tiempo real. La información de cada lectura tomada de los parámetros puede ser consultada desde un dispositivo móvil o un computador con acceso a internet en cualquier instante. Finalmente se realizan pruebas del sistema, para comprobar su funcionamiento en el ambiente requerido. Se instalan nodos en cada estanque del "proyecto piloto de criaderos de camarones".

Environmental monitoring plays a crucial role in understanding the impact of human activities on our ecosystems. However, the cost and complexity of traditional monitoring systems often hinder ...widespread deployment, especially in resource-constrained regions. This research paper explores the feasibility and effectiveness of employing Arduino Internet of Things (IoT) modules as a low-cost alternative for environmental research monitoring. The study focuses on designing and implementing an Arduino-based environmental monitoring system capable of gathering real-time data on key environmental parameters, such as temperature, humidity, air quality, and soil moisture. The hardware setup comprises Arduino microcontrollers interfaced with a range of environmental sensors and connectivity modules for data transmission. To assess the system's reliability and accuracy, a series of field experiments were conducted in diverse environmental settings, including urban areas, agricultural zones, and natural habitats. The collected data was compared against measurements from conventional monitoring equipment to validate the Arduino-based system's performance. The research demonstrates that the Arduino IoT modules can effectively monitor and transmit environmental data with a reasonable level of accuracy and stability, making them suitable for various environmental research applications. The low-cost nature of Arduino components and the open-source ecosystem facilitate customization and scalability, enabling researchers and organizations to develop tailored monitoring solutions for specific environmental contexts. Additionally, the paper discusses the challenges and limitations encountered during the deployment of Arduino-based monitoring systems, including power constraints, sensor calibration, and data processing techniques. Furthermore, it explores potential avenues for improvement and optimization to enhance the system's capabilities and data accuracy. In conclusion, this research highlights the practicality and promise of using Arduino IoT modules as a low-cost environmental research monitoring system. By presenting a viable alternative to expensive and complex monitoring solutions, the study opens up opportunities for researchers, environmentalists, and policymakers to establish cost-effective monitoring networks and gather essential data for informed decision-making, ultimately contributing to more sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

A user-friendly interface provides easy access to consumption patterns, empowering homeowners to monitor daily water usage, detect leaks, and receive alerts for anomalous trends using strategically positioned water flow sensors. The software not only offers personalized recommendations for minimizing data consumption but also introduces a Data Pool feature that facilitates the purchase and sale of unused data, thereby addressing underutilized data bundles. Employing advanced machine learning algorithms, the application anticipates users' future data requirements, optimizing data utilization. Moreover, the software assists in effective financial management by categorizing monthly expenditures, issuing real-time alerts, and enabling automated payment mechanisms to prevent late fees.
