This study examines planning criteria and models for the development of urban settlements situated along the coastline of Boka Kotorska. In the period between 1940 and 2006, coastal settlements ...underwent great transformations that changed their historical image and the image of the immediate landscape significantly. The transformations resulted from political, economic and sociological changes occurring within the observed period. Consequently, huge transformations of the urban structure and the appearance of certain settlements are noticeable. Based on the available archival material (topographic maps, plans and drafts of the settlement or its parts in different scales), statistical data and the analysis of completed scientific research in this area, the analysis and comparison of the expansion of Boka Kotorska settlements as well as analysis of their urban transformation was conducted. Defining and using criteria based on recognizing the features of the subject area is a prerequisite for the planned development of Montenegrin coastal settlements, both regarding built and nonbuilt or ruined structures of the subject area. By identifying planning criteria and models, and upon conducting the systematic examination and valuation of physical planning documentation, new planning criteria and models for the improvement of Boka Kotorska coastal settlements have been proposed—ones that can be used in practice, i.e., for the development of physical planning documentation, studies and expertise.
Heterobranch molluscs fauna in Montenegro has been poorly investigated so far. The aim of the present paper is to improve the knowledge about species diversity of these marine organisms in the Boka ...Kotorska Bay, specific fjord-like entity in the southern Adriatic Sea. New records of seven heterobranch species were obtained by field surveys in 2017, while three new records were provided by analysing underwater photographs from previous periods. The resulted checklist summarizes the knowledge of the diversity of heterobranchs in the Boka Kotorska Bay from the oldest record in 1967 to the present day and consists of a total of 62 heterobranch species.
Fauna puževa golaća (Heterobranchia) u Crnoj Gori je do sada slabo istražena. Cilj ovog rada je bio unaprijediti saznanja o ovim morskim organizmima u zalivu Boka Kotorska, specifičnom, nalik fjordu zalivu južnog Jadrana. Novi nalazi za sedam vrsta heterobranchia su pronađeni tijekom naših terenskih istraživanja u 2017. godini, dok su podaci za tri nova nalaza dobijeni analizom podvodnih fotografija iz prethodnih razdoblja. Ažurirana lista sumira saznanja o raznolikosti puževa golaća u Bokokotorskom zalijevu od najs-tarijeg zapisa iz 1967.g. do danas, a obuhvaća ukupno 62 vrste.
We present the first record of the endemic Mediterranean anthozoan Spinimuricea klavereni (Carpine & Grasshoff 1975) (Cnidaria, Anthozoa, Plexauridae) for the
Adriatic Sea (Boka Kotorska bay, ...Montenegro). A density of 0.72 colonies m-2 could be measured in the area, which was com-pared with the
scant available data in the literature. Having in mind that this species is very rare and endemic for the Mediterranean, it is important to increase our knowledge on its distribution and biology in order to better assess its ecological role, the pending threats and the need for specific conservation measures.
Prikazan je prvi nalaz endemičnog sredozemnog žarnjaka Spinimuricea klavereni (Carpine & Grasshoff 1975) (Cnidaria, Anthozoa, Plekauridae) za Jadransko more (Bokokotorski zaliv, Crna Gora). Dobijeni rezultati i izmjerena gustina od 0,72 kolonije m-2 su uspoređeni s oskudnim podacima dostupnim u literaturi. Imajući u vidu da je ova vrsta vrlo rijetka i endemska za Sredozemno more, važno je poboljšati znanje o njenoj distribuciji i biologiji kako bismo bolje procijenili njenu ekološku ulogu, prijetnje i potrebu za određenim mjerama zaštite.
Phytoplankton assemblages and pigment distribution were determined in the transitional Boka Kotorska Bay. Samples were collected four times from three stations in the inner part of the Bay between ...April 2008 and March 2009. Microscopic analysis revealed that the phytoplankton was composed of marine diatoms, dinoflagellates, cryptophytes, chlorophytes and coccolithophorids. Aside from fucoxanthin as the dominant biomarker pigment, alloxanthin, 19′-hexanoyloxyfucoxanthin, peridinin and chlorophyll b provided indicative contributions. Fucoxanthin and alloxanthin showed significant correlation with the phytoplankton chlorophyll a biomass throughout the investigated period. In November 2008, the diatoms were outcompeted by coccolithophorids, which probably efficiently absorbed nutrients during a period of their reduced supply. Due to the reduced nutrient input, in the summer, the phytoplankton community in the Bay was composed mostly of marine dinoflagellates, cryptophytes, and chlorophytes.
Prisutnost zajednica fitoplanktona i rasprostranjenost pigmenata utvrđivani su u tranzicijskim vodama Bokokotorskog zaljeva. Uzorci su prikupljeni četiri puta na tri lokaliteta u unutrašnjosti Zaljeva u periodu između travnja 2008. i ožujka 2009. godine. Mikroskopskom analizom utvrđeno je da fitoplankton čine morske dijatomeje, dinoflagelati, kriptofiti, klorofiti i kokolitoforidi. Pored fukoksantina kao dominantnog biomarkerskog pigmenta, bili su zastupljeni i aloksantin, 19′-heksanoiloksifukoksantin, peridinin i klorofil b. Fukoksantin i aloksantin su pokazali značajnu korelaciju sa klorofilom a kao indikatorom biomase fitoplanktona tijekom čitavog perioda ispitivanja. U studenom 2008. godine, dijatomeje su nadjačale kokolitoforide, koji su vjerovatno efikasno apsorbirali nutrijente tijekom perioda u kojem je njihova dostupnost bila smanjena. Kao rezultat smanjenog unosa nutrijenata, u ljetnom periodu, zajednicu fitoplanktona u Bokokotorskom zaljevu sačinjavali su uglavnom morski dinoflagelati, kriptofiti i klorofiti.
The paper contains essential interaction determinants of the spatial position and natural geographical bases of the Boka Kotorska area in the function of its development. Covering an area of about ...800 km2 and with more than 60.000 inhabitants it form a specific littoral area in the contact zone Montenegro-Croatia. Special consideration is given to the characteristics of the geological origin and structure of this area, to geomorphological features, climatovegetational characteristics and influence of soils. Rich water appearances were essential for the preservation and continuity of life and economic development. The author points out the importance of physicogeographical components in historiogeographical and recent development and also the necessity of valuing them in the modern socioeconomic development conditions.
This paper presents the results of growth rate and condition index analysis of Mytilus galloprovincialis in integrated system and monoculture. The aim of this study was to show if there are ...differences in growth and condition index of mussels between integrated multi-trophic aquaculture (IMTA) and monoculture farming. The growth rate and condition index were monitored during a 13-month study at three different sites: 1) close to fish cages (NBL), 2) 100 m removed from fish cages (NUD), 3) at a monoculture mussel farm (SVN) around 8 km far away from cages. The most intense growth of mussels was recorded in spring, and the least intense in summer. After 13 months, monitored individuals at all three locations achieved commercial size. The growth rate was very similar at all sites. The condition index showed spatial and temporal differences. Condition index values on site NUD were mostly higher compared to SVN and NBL, which were very similar, exept for the period from October to December when CI was similar on NBL and NUD site and higher in comparation with SVN. CI values on NBL an NUD site during cold period indicate on fact that mussels probably feed on the nutrients from fish farm origins.The highest mortality rate was recorded at the NBL site, probably due to the effects of fouling organisms.
Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je pokazati postojanja mogućih razlika u rastu i kondicijskom indeksu dagnji (Mytilus galloprovincialis) u integralnom multi-trofičkom uzgoju i uzgoju u monokulturi. Rast i kondicijski indeks praćeni su tijekom razdoblja od 13 mjeseci na tri postaje: 1) u blizini uzgajališta ribe (NBL), 2) 100 m od uzgajališta ribe (NUD), 3) u monokulturi (SVN) na uzgajalištu koje je oko 8 km udaljeno od kaveza sa ribom. Najintenzivniji rast zabilježen je tijekom proljetnog razdoblja, a najmanje intenzivan tijekom ljetnog. Nakon 13 mjeseci, praćene jedinke su na sve tri pozicije dostigle komercijalnu dužinu. Stopa rasta je bila slična na sve tri pozicije, dok je kondicijski indeks pokazao prostorne i vremenske razlike. Vrijednosti kondicionog indeksa na postaji NUD bile su više od vrijendosti na postajama SVN i NBL, koje su međusobno bile prilično slične, osim u razdoblju od listopada do prosinca kada su vrijednosti kondicijskog indeksa bile slične na postajama NBL i NUD, a veće u usporedbi sa vrijednostima na postaji SVN poziciji. Vrijednosti kondicionog indeksa na postajama NBL i NUD tijekom hladnog perioda godine ukazuju na to da se dagnje vjerovatno hrane nutrijentima porijeklom sa uzgajališta riba. Visoki mortalitet zabilježen je na postaji NBL, najvjerojatnije zbog obraštajnih organizama.

Autor u radu donosi sistematizirana dosadašnja znanja o lazaretima Boke Kotorske, upotpunjena historijskim podatcima i planovima iz mletačkih arhiva te rekognosciranim objektima, odnosno njihovim ...arheološkim i arhitektonskim ostatcima in situ. U Boki Kotorskoj nastanak lazareta vezan je za prihvaćanje vlasti Mletačke Republike 1420. godine. Najstariji lazaret bio je u samom Kotoru, a karantena se izdržavala i na lokacijama udaljenim od grada, ispred Đurića kod tjesnaca Verige, na otoku Stradioti u blizini Tivta, u Žanjicama kod Herceg-Novog itd. Usavršavanjem zdravstvenih mjera i vezivanjem funkcije lazareta za trgovinu robom nakon raskuživanja i kontrole, postepeno je došlo do približavanja lazareta gradovima i njihovim lukama i tržnicama. Kotorski lazaret nalazio se u neposrednoj blizini luke i gradskih bedema, a novi lazareti grade se u Herceg-Novom nakon njegova oslobođenja od Turaka 1687. godine. Tada nastaje lazaret na Toploj, predgrađu Herceg-Novog, gdje se još mogu rekognoscirati njegovi ostatci uklopljeni u novije građevine, a potom nešto dalje od grada, u Meljinama, koji je ostao autentično sačuvan do naših dana. Nažalost, najnoviji radovi na adaptaciji ovog objekta u velikoj su mjeri narušili njegovu autentičnost, a time i svojstva kulturnog dobra.
One of the key preconditions for building up and maintaining the Venetian naval empire in the early modern period was a successful connection between the interests of the local elites and the central ...authorities. The Venetian possessions in the Eastern Adriatic were no exception to this rule, and the noble families from the communes of Dalmatia and Bokelj played a particularly important role in this respect. For generations, their members held various public posts of local significance throughout the said area. From the mid-17th century, the local elites were increasingly involved in the Venetian military service. In this way, the Venetian military organization in the Eastern Adriatic region became the most important field in which the interests of the central authorities in Venice and the local elites were intertwined and firmly connected. An excellent example for studying this form of integration between the local elites and the state is the noble family of Buća (Bucchia), one of the ancient and especially respectable noble kindreds of Kotor. After some members of the family distinguished themselves in important civil services of the Republic, the Buća became more intensely involved in the Venetian military organization during the last decades of the 17th century.
