This paper focuses on a series of pre-Romanesque fragments found in Kotor and several other localities in Boka Kotorska, which can be linked to an early phase in the formation of the pre-Romanesque ...style. Chronological orientation points provided by the triple mention of Bishop Ivan, who was present at the Second Council of Nicaea in 787, have served as a framework dating the fragments to the last quarter of the 8th and the early 9th century. They are considered to be work of a highly skilful stonemason workshop, for which the name Stonemason Workshop from the Time of Bishop Ivan of Kotor has been proposed. The reliefs have been compared to analogous sculptural decoration adorning the cathedrals of other cities in the Eastern Adriatic based on similar stylistic and iconographic features,as well as masterful stonemasonry in high-quality marble. These analogies indicate a common visual language used by the masters active in the broad belt stretching from Istria to Boka Kotorska, who brought to our coast the spirit of new, pre-Romanesque art at the turn of the 9th century.
U radu se govori o ustroju uprave u Boki kotorskoj od francuske vladavine 1807. do raspada Austro-Ugarske Monarhije 1918. godine. Nakon pada Dubrovačke Republike 1808. godine Boka kotorska i ...Dubrovnik ustrojeni su kao jedno upravno područje. Uspostavom Ilirskih provincija Boka pripada pokrajini Dubrovnik. Upravna reforma izvršena je 30. studenog 1811. godine. Francuske upravne reforme prekinula je Druga austrijska uprava, koja će potrajati od 1814. do 1918. godine. Tada je uspostavljena jedinstvena pokrajina – Kraljevina Dalmacija. Reforme uprave u Boki će započeti tek 1836., a druga reforma će biti izvršena 1853. godine. Najvažnije promjene su se zbile 1868., kada se uprava odvaja od sudbene vlasti. Od tada po do 1918. bitnih promjena u upravi nije bilo.
Mytilus galloprovincialis was used as a biomonitoring organism in Boka Kotorska Bay, a coastal transitional ecosystem in south-western Montenegro. Native mussels were collected in June 2008 at four ...sites thought to be differently impacted. Biological effects were investigated analysing both generic and specific biomarkers at cellular level (metallothionein content, lysosomal membrane stability, lipofuscin and neutral lipid accumulation, lysosomal structural changes). Trace element levels in mussels were quite low, only Cu and Zn exhibiting slight increases in the two sampling sites of Tivat Bay, the first one in front of a small working dockyard and the other in the water area of a former Naval dockyard. Mussels collected from these sites exhibited the highest values in neutral lipid and lysosomal volume density and the lowest neutral red retention times. Metallothionein content was always low, reflecting the minor body burden of the trace elements and suggesting a non-relevant environmental induction.
Central theme of this article is directed towards naval military career of Vicko Dabović from Boka, the captain of Venetian ship Vittoria II in the last years of the eighteenth century. The article ...is based on the previous results of historiography (general data on the Dabović family) and – to a greater extent – on the analysis of the source materials from the State Archive of Venice (archival series of the Provveditori all’Armar). In the central part of the article, the composition of the crew of Vittoria II is analysed according to the lists made from 1 September 1794 to 24 September 1795. Lists of the ship’s crew of Vittoria II are given as an appendix at the end of the article.
In the paper the author discusses Temporary Protocol signed on December 10th 2002 between Republic of Croatia and Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro), about the border between the ...states in the area of Boka Kotorska. The parts of Protocol have been critically analysed with the thesis that this document is not good for the Croatian side because it enabled dual sovereignty along the part of Croatian shore, as well as disproportional demilitarization damaging the Croatian side.

The annual alteration of gonad morphology in sardine (Sardina pilchardus, Walbaum 1792) caught in the period from November 2006 to October 2007 using beach seines in the region of Boka Kotorska Bay ...(Montenegro, southern Adriatic) was studied. Samples were taken in the middle of each month. Total length of individuals ranged from 8.7 to 14.7 cm and weight ranged from 4.67 to 22.61 g. Their gonads were extracted and weighed, and a piece of gonad tissue was sampled for histological analysis. The length-weight relationship of all sardine specimens was described by the equation: W=0.0059 LT super(3.0891); (r super(2) = 0.963). The lowest gonadosomatic index (GSI) values, below 1, were found in June, July and August, corresponding to the state of gonad rest. The GSI increased gradually from September and October and reached its highest value in February, at 5.22 for females and 6.58 for males. After February the GSI started to decrease throughout March (4.5), April (2.4) and May (2.4). In June all gonads had a GSI bellow 1. Although primary oocytes (stage I) were present during all months, their percentage increased from May and was the highest during the summer months (June-September 100%). Mature stage IV oocytes were recorded from November to April, with the highest percentage recorded during January (26.7%). An increase in the percentage of oocytes in the yolk vesicle (II) and yolk (III) stages occurred in October, remaining almost unchanged until May. During the summer months (May - September), only stage I spermatogonia were present in the testicles. In October, spermatocytes (stage II) started to appear, while from November the spermatids (stage III) appeared as well. Spermatozoa (stage IV) appeared in December and reached their maximum level in January and February.Original Abstract: Istrazivana je godisnja promjena morfologije gonada kod srdele (Sardina pilchardus Walbaum 1792) ulovljene obalnom mrezom potegacom u razdoblju od studenog 2006. do listopada 2007. na podrucju Bokokotorskog zaljeva (Crna Gora, juzni Jadran). Ukupna duzina primjeraka kretala se od 8.7 do 14.7 cm, a tezina od 4.67 do 22.61 g. Obavljena je histoloska analiza gonada. Duzinsko- tezinski odnos za sve jedinke moze se opisati jednadzbom: W=0.0059 LT 3.0891 (r2 = 0.963). Najnize vrijednosti gonadosomatskog indeksa (GSI) utvrdjene su u lipnju, srpnju i kolovozu, sto odgovara stadiju mirovanja gonada. GSI vrijednosti su se postupno povecavale u rujnu i listopadu te dosegle najvise vrijednosti u veljaci 5.22 za zenke, odnosno 6.58 za muzjake. Nakon veljace, GSI vrijednosti su opadale, kroz ozujak (4.5), travanj (2.4) i svibanj (2.4). U lipnju su GSI vrijednosti bile manje od 1. Iako su primarne oocite bile prisutne u svim mjesecima, njihova zastupljenost je pocela rasti u svibnju i dosegla najvisu vrijednost u ljetnim mjesecima (100% u razdoblju od srpnja do rujna). Zrele oocite u stadiju IV zabiljezene su od studenog do travnja, sa najvisom zastupljenoscu u sijecnju (26.7%). Povecanje postotka oocita u stadijima II i III uoceno je u listopadu i ostaje gotovo nepromijenjeno do svibnja. Za ljetnjih mjeseci (svibanj-rujan), u testisima su bili prisutni samo spermatogoniji stadija I. U listopadu se zapocinju pojavljivati spermatociti (stadij II), a od studenog i spermatidi (stadij III). Spermatozoi (stadij IV) se javljaju u prosincu, a najvisu razinu dostizu u tijekom sijecnja i veljace.
