Norms and conventions for cell phone fiction have been in the making for a long time without being clearly codified and established as commercially or critically viable mainstay phenomena. This paper ...explores new manifestations of the emerging poetics of cell phone fiction, meaning the narrative and stylistic principles by which audiovisual short form serial narratives are constructed with the cell phone as intended user interface. We analyze and discuss cell phone fiction developed by two commercial players, Quibi and SnapChat. We have chosen as our main cases two serials that are generically alike but nevertheless demonstrate significant differences of style and narrative design — When The Streetlights Go On (Quibi, 2020) and Class of Lies (Snap Originals, 2018). The main differences can be understood in relation to diverging forms of “platform vernacular” (Gibbs, et al., 2015). Despite its so-called turnstyle functionality, Quibi’s When The Streetlights Go On is shown to embrace the stylistic and narrative design of long form media, whereas SnapOriginals’ Class of Lies opts for a ‘vertical only’ platform, a hyper emphatic style as well as going a long way to accommodate its users and the vernacular of cell phone practices and practices associated with Snapchat as a social media application.

Introduction
Older adolescents show heightened alertness in the evening close to the time of their Dim Light Melatonin Onset (DLMO), a time when the circadian system is most responsive to ...delaying light. We examined reported activities of adolescents around the time of their DLMO.
Methods
Forty-six adolescents (14.2-17.9 years; 24 females) who reported ≤7 h sleep on school nights and late bedtimes (school-night ≥ 23:00; non-school night ≥ midnight) slept at home on their usual school-year sleep schedule for 2 weeks. Participants reported their main activity via text message every hour from 16:00 until self-selected bedtime. After these 2 weeks, their DLMO was measured. We examined reported activities in the hour around the DLMO and the 2 hourly responses that followed on weeknights (Sunday-Thursday) to determine the most common activities (n=1380 responses). Logistic regression tested whether frequency of activities predicted whether a participant’s DLMO fell within the earliest (n=15; 19:31 ± 00:44), middle (n=16; 20:49 ± 00:20), or latest (n=15; 22:29±1:15) tertile.
Results
Overall, reported activities that consumed the most time were cell phone use (19.5%), homework (18.3%), and watching TV (15.1%). Adolescents who reported more homework, were more likely to have a DLMO in the middle tertile compared to the earliest and latest tertiles. Cell phone use was least likely in adolescents in the earliest DLMO tertile. TV watching did not predict DLMO group.
Conclusion
Adolescents who had the earliest DLMOs spent less time on their phones when light has the greatest delaying effect. These data may indicate that light from cell phone screens may delay circadian phase in this age group. Alternatively, cell phone use may be more likely if adolescents cannot fall asleep due to a later circadian cue for sleep onset.

In the age of Big Data, the widespread use of location‐awareness technologies has made it possible to collect spatio‐temporal interaction data for analyzing flow patterns in both physical space and ...cyberspace. This research attempts to explore and interpret patterns embedded in the network of phone‐call interaction and the network of phone‐users’ movements, by considering the geographical context of mobile phone cells. We adopt an agglomerative clustering algorithm based on a Newman‐Girvan modularity metric and propose an alternative modularity function incorporating a gravity model to discover the clustering structures of spatial‐interaction communities using a mobile phone dataset from one week in a city in China. The results verify the distance decay effect and spatial continuity that control the process of partitioning phone‐call interaction, which indicates that people tend to communicate within a spatial‐proximity community. Furthermore, we discover that a high correlation exists between phone‐users’ movements in physical space and phone‐call interaction in cyberspace. Our approach presents a combined qualitative‐quantitative framework to identify clusters and interaction patterns, and explains how geographical context influences communities of callers and receivers. The findings of this empirical study are valuable for urban structure studies as well as for the detection of communities in spatial networks.
With the advancing of location-detection technologies and the increasing popularity of mobile phones and other location-aware devices, trajectory data is continuously growing. While large-scale ...trajectories provide opportunities for various applications, the locations in trajectories pose a threat to individual privacy. Recently, there has been an interesting debate on the reidentifiability of individuals in the Science magazine. The main finding of Sanchez et al. is exactly opposite to that of De Montjoye et al., which raises the first question: "what is the true situation of the privacy preservation for trajectories in terms of reidentification?" Furthermore, it is known that anonymization typically causes a decline of data utility, and anonymization mechanisms need to consider the trade-off between privacy and utility. This raises the second question: "what is the true situation of the utility of anonymized trajectories?" To answer these two questions, we conduct a systematic experimental study, using three real-life trajectory datasets, five existing anonymization mechanisms (i.e., identifier anonymization, grid-based anonymization, dummy trajectories, k-anonymity and e- differential privacy), and two practical applications (i.e., travel time estimation and window range queries). Our findings reveal the true situation of the privacy preservation for trajectories in terms of reidentification and the true situation of the utility of anonymized trajectories, and essentially close the debate between De Montjoye et al. and Sanchez et al. To the best of our knowledge, this study is among the first systematic evaluation and analysis of anonymized trajectories on the individual privacy in terms of unicity and on the utility in terms of practical applications. Development of apps on mobile handsets as tools for personal and professional work has become a modern day necessity. This concept is also applicable to Clinical Biochemistry professionals involved ...in teaching, laboratory diagnostic services, research and developmental activities. One can make a humble beginning of developing an app for inter and intra communication between teacher, student and laboratory professionals. Subsequently, the contents in the app can be expanded to cover the syllabus of an academic course, lectures to cover the course, experiments thereupon, examination systems, evaluation procedures, self assessment and so on. With respect to skill development, downloading a video of specific contents from a you tube web site and practicing the skill, is the best option. Screen shots of such an app developed, which is relevant to clinical biochemists, will be shown and utility of this as a tool will be emphasized and discussed.
Micro-light-emitting diodes (μ-LEDs) are regarded as the cornerstone of next-generation display technology to meet the personalised demands of advanced applications, such as mobile phones, wearable ...watches, virtual/augmented reality, micro-projectors and ultrahigh-definition TVs. However, as the LED chip size shrinks to below 20 μm, conventional phosphor colour conversion cannot present sufficient luminance and yield to support high-resolution displays due to the low absorption cross-section. The emergence of quantum dot (QD) materials is expected to fill this gap due to their remarkable photoluminescence, narrow bandwidth emission, colour tuneability, high quantum yield and nanoscale size, providing a powerful full-colour solution for μ-LED displays. Here, we comprehensively review the latest progress concerning the implementation of μ-LEDs and QDs in display technology, including μ-LED design and fabrication, large-scale μ-LED transfer and QD full-colour strategy. Outlooks on QD stability, patterning and deposition and challenges of μ-LED displays are also provided. Finally, we discuss the advanced applications of QD-based μ-LED displays, showing the bright future of this technology.

El internet es el motivo ...principal de la globalización, pues estos dispositivos reúnen todas las mejores características de las nuevas tecnologías de innovación e información en un solo objeto, volviendo al dispositivo móvil el artefacto más popular y usado por las personas en todo el mundo. Esto ha producido enormes y evidentes cambios en las sociedades y personas, por este motivo, se decidió hacer un estudio en el cual, se caracterizó el uso del celular enfocándose en los estudiantes de la Universidad Santo Tomas. Este estudio se realizó utilizando técnicas de muestreo para recolectar la información y posteriores estimaciones y técnicas de análisis multivariado para generar la validación de la encuesta y los indicadores. Los principales resultados que se encontraron fueron indicios de adicción manifestada en angustia al no hacer uso de su celular por tiempos prolongados, así como también beneficios académicos bajo un uso correcto del dispositivo.
