Summary
Introduction
We validated the quality of evidence and potential benefits of information and communication technology interventions on diabetes‐related health outcomes.
Methods
We ...systematically searched PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, Google Scholar, and CINAHL and manually searched the reference lists of the retrieved review articles from each database's inception to October 2022. Randomized controlled trials were included to determine the benefits of information and communication technology interventions on diabetes outcomes.
Results
Ten meta‐analyses of randomized controlled trials were included, with 37 unique outcomes encompassing 379 studies and >70,000 participants across 47 countries and six continents. Information and communication technology intervention was associated with reduced HbA1c levels in patients with type 1 (moderate certainty), type 2 (moderate certainty), and gestational diabetes (low certainty) and showed potential benefits for type 2 diabetes, demonstrating a reduction in systolic blood pressure (high certainty), low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (low certainty), and body weight (low certainty), whereas those for gestational diabetes demonstrated a reduction in fasting (low certainty) and 2‐h postprandial blood glucose levels (low certainty).
Conclusion
This umbrella review and evidence map revealed varying evidence on the potential benefits of information and communication technology interventions for diabetes‐related outcomes. Our results demonstrate these interventions to be novel treatment options for policymakers and physicians to establish personalized health strategies.
In recent years, policymakers, international energy, and environmental organizations have posited that advancements in information and communication technology, digitalization, renewable energy, and ...financial development can facilitate a smoother and quicker transition toward a greener and smarter global economy. This study employs the Panel Vector Auto-Regression model to evaluate this assertion across the top ten most polluted countries from 1995 to 2018. The empirical findings indicate that while individual indicators of information and communication technology have mixed impacts, the utilization of a digitalization-based principal component analysis index provides strong evidence of digitalization's positive effect on environmental quality. Additionally, the results suggest that renewable energy and the economic complexity index also contribute to environmental improvement. Therefore, the empirical evidence underscores the significant role of digitalization, information and communication technology, and renewable energy in enhancing environmental sustainability in the most polluted countries. Moreover, the findings indicate that although a financial development shock initially worsens environmental quality in the first year, it leads to improvements from the second year onwards. These empirical insights offer various policy recommendations regarding information and communication technology, digitalization, renewable energy, and financial development, which could support the achievement of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

This paper examines the linkage between carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, total factor productivity (TFP) as a measure of income, and information and communication technologies (ICT) in Tunisia from ...1975 to 2014. To empirically investigate this relationship, the autoregressive distributed delay (ARDL) with the break point method is specified and estimated. The results demonstrate the rejection of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis by obtaining a higher value of the long-term total factor productivity (TFP) coefficient compared the short term one. Moreover, the result indicates an insignificant impact of ICT on CO2 emissions as a measure of pollution. As a result, Tunisian policy makers should not only enhance their total factor productivity but also expand their information and communication technology.
•We investigate the linkage between carbon dioxide emissions, total factor productivity and ICT in Tunisia.•Total factor productivity is considered as a measure of technical change and economic growth.•We use the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) with break point approach.•We reject of the Kuznets Environmental Curve (EKC) hypothesis.•We observe an insignificant effect of ICT on carbon dioxide emissions.
Recently, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) present a promising advanced technology that can enhance people life quality and smartness of cities dramatically and increase overall economic efficiency. ...UAVs have attained a significant interest in supporting many applications such as surveillance, agriculture, communication, transportation, pollution monitoring, disaster management, public safety, healthcare, and environmental preservation. Industry 4.0 applications are conceived of intelligent things that can automatically and collaboratively improve beyond 5G (B5G). Therefore, the Internet of Things (IoT) is required to ensure collaboration between the vast multitude of things efficiently anywhere in real-world applications that are monitored in real-time. However, many IoT devices consume a significant amount of energy when transmitting the collected data from surrounding environments. Due to a drone's capability to fly closer to IoT, UAV technology plays a vital role in greening IoT by transmitting collected data to achieve a sustainable, reliable, eco-friendly Industry 4.0. This survey presents an overview of the techniques and strategies proposed recently to achieve green IoT using UAVs infrastructure for a reliable and sustainable smart world. This survey is different from other attempts in terms of concept, focus, and discussion. Finally, various use cases, challenges, and opportunities regarding green IoT using UAVs are presented.
Several new communication technologies have made it relatively easy for individuals to broadcast a single self-disclosure directly to almost everyone with whom they share a relationship—ranging from ...close friends to little-known acquaintances. Drawing from research on self-disclosure and the negativity effect, two studies were conducted to test the notion that the interpersonal and relational outcomes of broadcasting positive and negative self-disclosures are not uniform. The results of the cross-sectional survey offer evidence that the outcomes of positive and negative broadcasted disclosures vary depending on the receiver’s relationship with the discloser. The results from the experiment largely support the negativity effect explanation for differences in the outcomes of broadcasted disclosures. Relative to positive disclosures, negative broadcasted self-disclosures have a significantly greater impact on acquaintances than on friends’ perceptions of the discloser and their relationship.
With the rapid development of intelligent hardware and the Internet of Things, the bandwidth and resource utilization efficiency of related networks need to be improved. At the same time, the ...corresponding communication spectrum is becoming more and more scarce. At present, cognitive D2D communication technology in 5G network can establish communication link directly through communication equipment, so that two established communication equipment can realize direct communication, so as to make full use of communication resources and finally meet the explosive growth of traffic demand. How to manage communication resources and select communication links is the main research direction of D2D communication technology in 5G technology. Based on the knowledge of game theory, this paper proposes a communication channel allocation scheme and resource optimization scheme based on spectrum clustering and non cooperative game to maximize the operation efficiency of D2D communication equipment. The actual efficiency can reach about 1.5 times of the original communication efficiency. Finally, the optimization method proposed in this paper is compared with the traditional communication method. The experimental results show that this method has higher advantages.
Abstract This paper aims to identify and summarise available literature on railway infrastructure e-maintenance system as a report of the state of the art of research in railway infrastructure ...e-maintenance system by systematically classifying the published literatures in the period of 2000-2023. The author identify the aspects and elements which influence the railway infrastructure e-maintenance system as well as various approaches to optimize the railway infrastructure e-maintenance system. This paper identify the current research gaps in order to conduct the future prospect of the research. As results, it is observed that based on the study of the published literatures, the implementation of e-maintenance in railway infrastructure sector mostly focus on the use of the information and communication technology (ICT) itself and there is no proper integration between the managerial aspects (i.e. regulation, work breakdown structure, risk, and safety) with information and communication technology (ICT) to optimize the e-maintenance system.
The study investigates key drivers of renewable energy transition in China using the quarterly data from Q1-2000 to Q4-2020. We employed the Bootstrap Autoregressive Distributed Lag method for ...long-run and short-run parameters. The results exhibit that financial development and research and development expenditures are the most prominent factors that encourage energy transition. In addition, human resources and information and communication technology (ICT) also contribute to stimulating the renewable energy transition in China. The overall long-run estimates have pronounced impact than the short-run results, except for the ICT, which has an insignificant effect in the short run. Moreover, the significant negative value of the error correction term converges the model by a 32.9% adjustment rate in case of any deviation. The empirical outcome recommends that the government of China should promote financial development resources and R&D spending to spur the energy transition.
•Bootstrap ARDL applies to China's quarterly data.•Drivers of Renewable Energy Transition (RET) are explored.•Financial development and R&D expenditures are the most prominent drivers of RET.•Human development and ICT stimulate RET.

Industry 4.0 is changing disruptively all the industrial processes from their base, and metrology is being challenged by this new ‘wave’ of rethinking industry. Therefore, new quality control systems ...are being conceived for measurement purposes, as well as being installed in factories, which represents a huge management challenge, towards handling and processing a large amount of data, as well as developing the required theory for metrology assessment. In this paper, three examples of machine vision systems are presented, which are used to highlight some of the main issues that metrology must deal within this new paradigm. As a main conclusion, every company needs to design its own roadmap towards implementing the adequate methods and processes to be properly adapted and aligned with this new generation of metrology-related systems.
