GKL$$ \mathcal{GKL} $$‐FTS and event‐
GKL$$ \mathcal{GKL} $$‐FTS relax the requirements on stabilizing flow and jump for FTS in the literature. Finally, two examples are presented to demonstrate the obtained results.
Regularized Total Least Squares is a useful approach for solving ill-posed overdetermined systems of equations when both the model matrix and the observed data are contaminated by noise. A ...Newton-based Regularized Total Least Squares method was proposed by Lee et al. (2013) 16, but may not be efficient for large scale problems. Here we consider two projection-based algorithms applied to this method for the solution of the large scale problem. The first fixes the underlying subspace dimension, while the second expands the subspace dynamically during the iterations by employing a generalized Krylov subspace expansion. Experimental results demonstrate that the two projection-based algorithms can be successfully applied for the solution of the large scale Regularized Total Least Squares problems.
In 1888, a first recreational area was created in Kuala Lumpur as a place for the British residents. Now, after more than 120 years this lake area still exists. Reintroducing the Sydney Lake Garden ...as the historical park is not about enhancing the colonial heritage but more on the history that this area once had. With the used of Greater Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley (GKL/KV) as one of the main references, this paper will try to relate it on reviving this recreational area as one of new tourist attraction of Kuala Lumpur, the Sydney Lake Historical Park.
Research in the University of Maryland at College Park's Gyroklystron (GKL) Project has recently centered around the development of a high-power high-gain frequency-doubling 17.136-GHz system. The ...current tube is a four-cavity (input, buncher, penultimate, and output) coaxial frequency-doubling system that will be used to drive a linear accelerator structure. This paper presents the design, simulation, optimization, cold test methodology, and performance data of a proposed radial extraction output cavity in which the microwave energy is extracted through an inner coaxial conductor in the TE/sub 01/ circular mode. The positioning of dielectrics in the drift spaces and the effect of axial and radial misalignments between the inner and outer walls of the cavity were studied in depth. One advantage of this topology is that it reduces the size and complexity of the output waveguide chain otherwise needed to convert the TE/sub 02/ circular mode from the GKL into the standard rectangular waveguide mode for injection into the Haimson Research Corporation accelerator structure. Cold test results show that this new cavity, which has a Q of 458 and a resonant frequency of 17.112 GHz, is a viable replacement for the output cavity currently in the system, as long as the cavity is well aligned.
Motivated by a geometric decomposition of the vector field associated with the Gorini–Kossakowski–Lindblad–Sudarshan (GKLS) equation for finite-level open quantum systems, we propose a generalization ...of the recently introduced contact Hamiltonian systems for the description of dissipative-like dynamical systems in the context of (non-necessarily exact) contact manifolds. In particular, we show how this class of dynamical systems naturally emerges in the context of Lagrangian Mechanics and in the case of nonlinear evolutions on the space of pure states of a finite-level quantum system.
A generator of classes of multidimensional test problems for benchmarking continuous constrained global optimization methods is proposed. It is based on the generator of test classes for global ...optimization proposed in 2003 by Gaviano, Kvasov, Lera, and Sergeyev and extends the previous generation procedure from the box-constrained case to the case of nonlinear constraints. The user has the possibility to fix the difficulty of tests in an intuitive way by choosing several types of constraints. A detailed information (including the global solution) for each of 100 problems in each generated class is provided to the user. The generator is particularly suited for testing black-box optimization algorithms that normally address low or medium dimensional problems with hard to evaluate objective functions.
