...Sulabh did not stop at just liberating the scavengers from their demeaning profession, which was the dream of Mahatma Gandhi, but also took care of the liberated scavengers by giving them ...alternate livelihood options. ...a much awaited Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA), or Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) (Clean India Mission), was initiated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister – a nation-wide campaign in India for the period 2014 to 2019 that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India's cities, towns, and rural areas. Mounting and diverse evidence suggests that subclinical infections with diarrhea pathogens can cause physiological and structural alterations of the gut with adverse consequences on child nutrition and growth. Because diarrhea is ultimately transmitted from infected stools, clean water and safe disposal of faeces have major impacts on diarrhea incidence. According to 2009 data, about 42 per cent of children worldwide are in need of deworming treatment while, in the WHO South-East Asia Region, approximately 64 per cent of children in India require deworming, while it is 15 per cent from Indonesia and 13 per cent from Bangladesh.

Determinants of mental health are not just the ability to manage one's thoughts, emotions, behaviours and interactions with others, but also national policies, social protection, living standards, ...working conditions and community social support. If his beliefs in spirituality, better social integration, endless love for other living beings, non-violence, truth and moral values, were to be followed, it would have a significant impact on mental health of individuals. The central government is responsible for international health treaties, medical education, prevention of food adulteration, quality control in drug manufacturing, national disease control and family planning programs. Initiatives such as Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH +A) programme and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) programme are aimed at reducing IMR, MMR, and improving family planning rates, child and maternal nutrition.
PurposeThis paper examines the impact of restructuring on the usage of resources and services in the Indian Institute of Technology library, Roorkee. Library users were approached to know their ...preferences between an electronic and traditional resources and services. Additionally, the study focused to know the extent of change in users' awareness, dependency, usage, frequency and satisfaction from library resources and services after restructuring these due to the availability of abundance of e-resources.Design/methodology/approachThe study adopted survey-based research design, for which a questionnaire was used as the principal instrument for data collection. This questionnaire was distributed to the library users when they physically visited the library. Notably, all the questionnaires distributed were returned, yielding thereby a cent percent response rate. One questionnaire was administrative on the librarian for getting the data regarding the changes made in the subscription of e-resources and services. The collected data were further analyzed with appropriate statistical techniques of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) as chi-square test, mean and standard deviation.FindingsThe results showed that the use of both restructured resources and services had increased, and was found to be helpful for users. Also, the users' dependency on library had increased, showing thereby an upward trend for usage in the future. However, although the users’ awareness, usage and frequency of e-resources and ICT-based services have positively changed, and partially been satisfied, the study suggests that further revision is needed for further strengthening e-resources and services as per user's needs satisfaction.Practical implicationsThis study would create interest in rethinking library resources and services among librarians that tend to respond positively to user satisfaction and library functions; it also provides a strategic position of a library per se for its users in the future. Importantly, the assessment of the usage of restructuring resources and services, vis-a-vis their impact on users, may also serve as a key tool, which possibly could be applied to both public libraries and other types of higher education libraries.Originality/valueMany libraries find it difficult to balance between electronic and printed materials, especially in the fields of science and technology, due to the preferences of the users. Thus far, there have not been too many studies that have looked to assess restructuring of library resources and services, vis-a-vis their impact on library users. Therefore, the results of this study would provide a clear understanding to the library profession as to how users use e-resources and services in the digital age, and how much they are actually influenced by these.
When examining the history of religions and dominant religious narratives, institutions, cultures, ideologies, and practices in the contemporary world, one is tempted to conclude that religion is ...more of the problem in relating to diverse issues of war and peace. Dominant religions and religious cultures seem overwhelmingly to be causes, express systemic structures, and provide ideological, theological, and philosophical justifications for violence, war, militarism, intolerance, divisiveness, oppression, injustice, hatred, environmental destruction, and anti-democratic hierarchical domination. Can religious culture also be a positive force for nonviolence, peace, love, compassion, justice, tolerance and mutual respect, and harmonious and sustainable relations with human and nonhuman life, nature, and the cosmos? A universal, phenomenological, structural model of the dialectic of the sacred and the profane allows us to understand how and why religious culture has been such a negative force, but also how it can develop as a positive force. In that regard, Mahatma Gandhi, the best known and most influential proponent of nonviolence, offers a complex and insightful approach to religious culture in ways that are most significant for relating issues of war, peace, and religious culture today. What I propose to show, by focusing on the phenomenology of religion and the insights of Mahatma Gandhi, is that the full picture of religious culture, violence, war, and peace is complex, nuanced, and contradictory, and there are structural and contextualized openings for understanding ways that religious culture can be a positive force for nonviolence and peace.
Traumatic oral ulcers are one of the most commonly encountered oral ulcers. Their healing may be delayed due to factors like the presence of opportunistic infectious microbes in the oral cavity, ...secondary trauma from sharp edges of teeth, and the systemic condition of the patient.
To compare the efficacy of a newly developed neem extract containing herbal ointments (propolis and
in enhancing the wound contraction of traumatic oral ulcers and to determine the relationship between oxidative stress and oral ulcers.
Ulcers were inflicted by trauma in the mouths of experimental rabbits using a 5 mm punch biopsy device. Forty-eight animals were randomly put into six groups (n = 12). Group 1 was the control group that did not receive any intervention; Group 2 had a systemic treatment of
extract; Group 3 received a topical application of propolis; Group 4 had a topical application of a neem extract-based herbal ointment; Group 5 was administered a combination of
and propolis; and Group 6 had a combination of a neem-based herbal ointment and
. Oxidative stress levels were calculated by measuring superoxide dismutases and malondialdehyde levels in the blood on days 0, one, seven, and 14. Wound contraction scores of ulcers were also assessed on days seven and 14.
Significantly higher wound contraction scores were seen in groups treated with herbal ointment in comparison to groups treated without herbal ointment. Oxidative stress levels increased in all groups after the infliction of ulcers (day one) and then declined as the ulcers healed, reaching near-normal levels on day 14. Groups containing
showed a significant reduction in oxidative stress in comparison to groups without
. A p-value of <0.05 was considered significant.
A combined formulation of herbal ointment and
proved to be the most efficacious in enhancing wound contraction of oral ulcers along with significantly reducing oxidative stress in experimental rabbits.
In a postcolonial country, colonial cartoons prove an indispensable source for voicing contemporary public opinion either for initiating resistance towards colonizer's leadership or for suppressing ...the colonized who dared to launch resistance in the first place. Simultaneously, humour generated through these cartoons is valuable in identifying the iconicity of an individual as the extent of distortion employed in caricaturing them explains the level of popularity enjoyed by them. This implies that a cartoon can effectively increase/decrease the number of followers of a person who is either glorified or belittled through distortions. In this article, I argue that colonial cartoons despite of their attempts to ridicule Mahatma Gandhi for his rivalry with the British administrators paradoxically went on to glorify him. Cartoons converted him into a popular icon, the one who was easily recognized by masses. Their intention of generating humour by depicting Gandhi in cartoons made people visualise enormous trouble that he was creating for colonizers thus turning him into a celebratory figure against British in South Africa. This moral shaming created from visual depiction of inhuman British rule led to withdrawal of many horrendous acts and laws which were primarily meant for exploitation of Indian immigrants in South Africa.
What can the case of Satyagraha House, the luxury guesthouse and museum complex established on the site of a domestic building briefly inhabited by Mohandas Gandhi from 1908 to 1909, suggest about ...the complexities attached to heritage and preservation in the contemporary South African context? What can this hybrid museum and guesthouse space offer to advance dialogue around the heritage of modern Africa, which will allow alternatives to the ‘traditional’ museum to emerge? Equally, when innovative modes of presenting heritage arise as a result of initiatives from outside the country, the need to pay due diligence to local memory and understanding is considered here as being of paramount importance. Failure to do this, as, I argue, has inadvertently taken place at Satyagraha House, will place modern museum practice in South Africa as belonging to the past rather than to the present and future of modern African heritage.
Background
Stroke is ischemia and neurological dysfunction caused by acute brain circulation loss. It causes acute localized neurological abnormalities such as weakness, sensory deficit, or language ...issues that require long-term treatment. These deficiencies harm the patient and their family psychologically, socially, and economically. Thus, combination treatment can rapidly rehabilitate such patients. Detoxification methods like Ayurvedic medicated enema help stroke pathophysiology. Physical modalities in physiotherapy have been shown to facilitate normal movement and function on the stroke patient's affected side, increasing independence with everyday duties. A stroke patient may benefit from
Dashmoola Niruha Basti, Function Electrical Stimulation (FES), and Motor Relearning Programme (MRP).
Aim & Objectives
This study compares the adjuvant role of
Dashmoola Basti with MRP and FES in stroke recovery. The main goals of this study are to assess and compare the adjuvant role of
Dashmoola Basti with standard control over sensorimotor function of lower extremities, static and dynamic balance in stroke patients; gait parameters; resistance experienced during passive range of motion; quality of life of patients; Barthel Index; Modified Ashworth Scale; and Fuglmeyer assessment, Single Limb Stance Test, Functional Reach Test.
Methods
A total of 40 patients will be enrolled and divided randomly into two equal groups. In Group A (control), standard treatment (modern + physiotherapy) will be prescribed for one month. In Group B (interventional group),
Dashmoola Basti will be added to the aforementioned standard treatment for one month.
Expected results
Improvement in Fuglmeyer assessment, Single Limb Stance Test, Functional Reach Test, quality of Life of Patients, Barthel Index, Modified Ashworth scale, and National Institute of Health (NIH) stroke-scale-score will be observed and recorded.
Conclusions
Results and conclusions will be derived according to the data collected in case record form and assessment sheets filled at baseline and follow-up visits.

The rapid rate of technological progress has been a critical aspect of Human History since the advent of the Industrial Revolution. Information Technology has enabled a large amount of flow of ...Information, ideas, thoughts, goods, and services across the region in a very short time. Higher education is a field that determines the average productivity of Labour, level of innovation, citizenship, and humane qualities in society. Some thinkers contend that the use of Information Technology is highly harmful while some dream of a technological utopia. The paper puts forward the view that reality is situated between extreme viewpoints. This paper discusses the potential of innovative technology in ensuring vast access to data among students; improving the knowledge of students regarding wise use of the Internet; increasing the interaction between teachers and students through Online Platforms; creating scope for greater flexibility as demanded by New Education Policy; increasing the interest of students through the use of Audio-Visual Technology and facilitating education even in times of Corona Pandemic. The paper also brings to light the challenges and limitations in using innovative technology is like a mirage of data reductionism; the paucity of emotional dividends of education; lack of face-to-face interactions among students and teachers; the probability of data banks becoming so static as to be unable to deal with transformations across disciplines, and prejudice against past achievements. Finally, the paper points out that as machines cannot substitute Humanity, Teaching equipment cannot replace the teacher.
