In the era of the global dissemination of martial arts and combat sports, including those from East Asia, judo is a clear example of the successful globalisation of national sports discipline. ...Basically, no one doubts that this concerns a popular Japanese sports discipline, which is managed by one international federation, and the whole world competes in championship tournaments and the Olympic Games. However, is there really only one type of judo? And is it only understood as this sports discipline? The author cites facts showing the process of the parallel institutionalisation of other judo variants, appearing under different names. Firstly, there is the "European" judo-do, secondly Kodokan judo or Butokukai judo, complemented by techniques of jujutsu self-defence (Japanese jūjutsu) and finally today’s Idokan judo. The Idokan organisation has also been teaching judo in the broad sense for over 70 years as various methods of martial art guided by the principle of flexibility.
Judo is martial art,which philosophy is very closely tied with its east-asian roots and it focuses on the contestant’s physical and spiritual development. The aim of this study is to investigate the ...incidence of traumas in elite judo athletes from the Bulgarian national team, in a retrospective manner throughout their careers as athletes. A survey was conducted among 37 athletes from the Bulgarian national judo team. All competitors have received at least one injury during their competitive career. These are sprains, strains and contusions. Most of the traumas occur during training. The severe injuries occur during competition and in general are caused from the direct contact with the opponent. The present study has limitations such as the small focus group size. Thus suggested future studies involving other judo competitors, as well as coaches and judges. It’s interesting to recognize their opinion and to compare it with that of the athletes. That will help to propose strategies for prevention of injuries.
This report explains the main contributions of the 1st conference on adapted judo, entitled “Beyond the limits: exploring adapted judo”, organized by the Italian Federation of Judo, Wrestling, Karate ...and Martial Arts (FIJLKAM) on April 8-9, 2024 at the FIJLKAM Olympic Center in Rome in collaboration with the European Judo Union (EJU) and the University of Rome “Foro Italico”. The various presentations highlighted the mechanisms of brain physiology that affect Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the benefits that the practice of martial arts brings to the quality of life of people with ASD and intellectual disabilities. Another block of presentations focused on the rise of adapted judo competitions and its regulation at the level of regulation and the establishment of categories of competition following a criterion of functionality to include the maximum number of people. Finally, it ended with the practical applications of adapted judo on the tatami.
Tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pelatihan kondisi fisik kepada para atlet, program pelatihan kepada atlet di PJSI DKI Jakarta. Pelatihan ini perlu dilakukan karena ...adanya proses latihan kondisi fisik yang masih kurang baik. Pelatih memiliki kewajiban untuk memberikan latihan dan menjadikan atlet berprestasi, namun masih ada keterbatasan dalam menerapkannya. Pelatihan bagi atlet tersebut masih sangat dibutuhkan untuk mendukung fisik atlet yang akan bertanding ke Pekan Olahraga Nasional yang rencananya diselenggarakan di Papua, oleh karena itu karena kurangnya perencanaan dan kematangan dalam melakukan kegiatan latihan baik dari segi materi latihan maupun dari intensitas yang diberikan, maka dibutuhkan program latihan yang baru bagi atlet dengan target mencapai prestasi dan menjadikan PJSI DKI Jakarta menjadi juara umum di Pekan Olahraga Nasional Papua 2021, dengan metode yang diberikan adalah materi kondisi fisik dan program latihan sehingga akan lebih menyempurnakan latihan teknik atlet. Perguruan Tinggi sebagai lembaga penghasil pelatih maupun pendidik, sekaligus lembaga yang secara terorganisir melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat memiliki kewajiban moril untuk melakukan pembinaan dan pelatihan khususnya cabang olahraga judo yang dimana judo ini adalah salah satu syarat pendidikan di kepolisian. Untuk itu program pengabdian kepada masyarakat menghadirkan untuk memberikan pelatihan atlet adalah cara yang ditempuh untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Kegiatan meliputi pelatihan kondisi fisik. Materi yang dibahas adalah program latihan judo. Pelatihan direncanakan akan dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai dengan September 2021.
The study aimed to identify the impact of the weight training program on the physical performance index of judo sport, and the researchers followed the experimental method, and the study was ...conducted on a sample of (12) judo players who underwent a weight training program for (10) weeks. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences in the physical performance index of judo by (%19.92) in positive, the number of throws (%17.01), and the pulse rate immediately after performance by (%5.07) and after performance by one minute (%7.25). The researchers recommend the need to focus on weight training to improve the physical performance index of judo and endurance performance and muscular endurance and the adoption of the physical performance index of judo as an indicator of the physical competence of judo. هدفت الدراسة للتعرف على أثر البرنامج التدريبي بالأثقال على مؤشر الأداء البدني الخاص برياضة الجودو، واتبع الباحثان المنهج التجريبي، وأجريت الدراسة على عينة قوامها (12) لاعب جودو خضعوا لبرنامج تدريبي بالأثقال لمدة (10) أسابيع، وأظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في مؤشر الأداء البدني الخاص برياضة الجودو بنسبة تحسن بلغت (%19.92)، وعدد الرميات (%17.01)، وبلغ التحسن في معدل النبض بعد الأداء مباشرة نسبة (%5.07) وبعد الأداء بدقيقة بنسبة (%7.25). ويوصي الباحثان بضرورة التركيز على تدريبات الأثقال لتحسين مؤشر الأداء البدني الخاص بالجودو وتحمل الأداء والتحمل العضلي، واعتماد مؤشر الأداء البدني الخاص بالجودو كمؤشر على الكفاءة البدنية الخاصة برياضة الجودو.
Introducción: El judo es un arte marcial, su práctica se realiza bajo un ambiente de respeto, disciplina y exigencia, para el constituye una gran importancia el desarrollo de todas las capacidades ...físicas, variados y disímiles son los métodos que utiliza este para el desarrollo de dichas capacidades Objetivo: Elaborar un programa de judo para la enseñanza-aprendizaje de las técnicas básicas en los estudiantes de la carrera Pedagogía de la Actividad Física y Deporte de la Universidad de Guayaquil. Métodos: Se efectuó un estudio experimental en su modalidad de pre-experimento pedagógico que evidenció los cambios significativos en la ejecución de las técnicas básicas del judo a 26 sujetos correspondientes al sexto semestre de la carrera de Pedagogía de la actividad física de la Universidad de Guayaquil, se utilizaron como métodos la medición y los resultados de tres pruebas técnicas básicas del judo como son Tachi waza, Osae-Komi-Waza y Kwansetsu-Waza Resultados: los principales resultados constituyeron un programa que presentó la siguiente estructura introducción, justificación de los contenidos, aportes al perfil de egreso, unidades temáticas o de análisis y evaluación de los aprendizajes, los que tienen una relación en sistema y contenidos muy bien relacionados. Conclusiones: Se comprobó la funcionalidad del programa de judo para la carrera de Pedagogía de la actividad física con mejoras sustanciales y diferencias significativas en la ejecución de las técnicas básicas durante la posprueba con incrementos por encima del 50 % en los resultados de los test aplicados.

Purpose This study aimed to clarify the relationship between menstrual-associated symptoms and lifestyle in female judo athletes by menstrual period. Participants and Methods One hundred sixty-nine ...female judo players aged 18 to 21 years were surveyed using a questionnaire consisting of profile, judo practice, and lifestyle, and a questionnaire on menstruation-related symptoms (MDQ). Results The results showed a negative correlation between the total score of the MDQ before and during menstruation and the amount of sleep on weekdays. Female judo players who slept less on weekdays showed higher scores of menstrual-associated symptoms. Conclusion Since female judo players show worsening of menstrual symptoms before and during menstruation, it is necessary to review their lifestyle, including sleep duration.
