Lars Fredrikson et Max Neuhaus débutent une pratique plastique du son et exposent leurs premières installations « acousmatiques » dans les années 1960, alors qu’abondent les attaques à l’encontre de ...l’hégémonie moderniste de la vision, et les pratiques conceptuelles et plastiques « anti-visuelles », dont des approches sonores hybrides, qui interrogent la place du « voir » au sein de l’art. Au début des années 1990, les deux artistes réalisent des œuvres employant l’obscurité comme lieu de possibilité d’une écoute « en aveugle ». Ces installations, dont l’exploration sensorielle est en partie fondée sur l’idée d’une perception « écholocatrice » de l’espace, sont des exceptions dans leurs parcours. Elles interrogent la survivance d’une écoute jouant de la jugulation des sens, de techniques corporelles de l’écoute impliquant des états modifiés de conscience, mais aussi d’une « épistémologie aveugle » (Jones, 2017), particulièrement prisées dans les années 1960 et 1970, et qui réapparaissent au tournant des années 2000.

Este texto se debruça sobre testemunhos de graças de devotos de frei Fabiano de Cristo (1676-1747) e de frei Rogério Neuhaus (1859-1934), a fim de discutir as noções de carisma e agência. O material ...analisado consiste em cartas escritas pelos devotos e encontradas em suas biografias e em arquivos franciscanos. A reflexão sobre o carisma se mostrou um bom meio de pôr em tela as discussões sobre divíduo, indivíduo e agência. Na esteira da agenda de pesquisa da antropologia dos últimos anos, que objetiva ir além de certa “razão sociológica”, este texto afirma que, para compreender as relações entre frades e seus devotos, parece prejudicial ter que escolher entre carisma de função ou individual. Nessas cartas, a agência não pode ser somente encontrada nem no indivíduo, nem na instituição e sim diluída em toda a malha que reúne divindades, humanos e outras coisas. Além disso, o artigo argumenta que os testemunhos de graça evocam uma noção de divíduo.
This paper analyses the grace testimonies of devotees of friar Fabiano de Cristo (1676-1747) and friar Rogério Neuhaus (1859-1934), in order to discussing the notions of charism and agency. The analyzed material consists in votary’ letters that can be found at biographies and Franciscan archives of fice. The reflection about charism allowed discuss anthropological notions like dividual, individual and agency. Following the anthropological research agenda, that aims to go bellowed of the sociologic reason, this text af firms that choice between charism of function and individual charism is not a good way to understanding the relations between friars and votary. In the votary’ letters, the agency cannot be found nether just in the individual, nor just in the institution. The agency is diluted in the meshwork that joins divinity, human and others things. Besides that, the paper evokes a notion of dividual.
Pope John Paul II’s 1991 publication of the encyclical Centesimus Annus sparked a lively debate that lasted for years. Neoconservative Catholics promptly showed great enthusiasm for the encyclical, ...which they saw as the Church finally embracing economic liberalism. On the other hand, progressive Catholics rejected the neoconservative analysis and put an entirely different interpretation on the encyclical. This article examines some of the main neocon interpretations of John Paul II’s social thinking, primarily focusing on the encyclical Centesimus Annus. We consider the analyses of Michael Novak and Richard Neuhaus, who show partisan bias in their interpretation of Centesimus Annus. John Paul II’s encyclical soon became a battlefield on which the conflict between neoconservative and progressive Catholics was played out, and a landmark in the debate on Catholic social teaching and its various interpretations.
The neo-conservative Catholic movement, led by prominent figures like Richard John Neuhaus and Michael Novak, played a significant role in shaping Jewish–Christian relations in the United States ...following the Second Vatican Council. This article analyzes their theological understanding of Jews and Judaism, which combined an adoption of the Council’s conciliatory rhetoric with a relatively narrow interpretation of its teachings. By examining their views on key concepts such as “fulfillment”, salvation, and mission, the article highlights the complexities and tensions within the neo-conservative Catholic approach to interfaith dialogue and its relation to their broader goal of promoting religion in the American public sphere.

Heinrich Neuhaus fue un destacado protagonista en la creación y evolución de la escuela pianística soviética. Profesor del Conservatorio de Moscú desde 1922 hasta su muerte en 1964, sus particulares ...métodos de enseñanza atrajeron muy pronto la atención de músicos y pedagogos. El interés que suscitó su estilo docente hizo que se realizaran grabaciones de algunas de sus sesiones de clases, dando así lugar a un valioso material en el que se incluyen registros estenográficos y grabaciones sonoras. En este trabajo se ha llevado a cabo un detallado análisis de estas fuentes junto al estudio de sus artículos, cartas y otros documentos personales —en su mayoría sin traducir y poco conocidos en Occidente—, para así profundizar en la comprensión del enfoque humanista de su método docente. También se exploran las prácticas que hicieron de Neuhaus un pedagogo de una influencia excepcional, y se ofrece un detallado análisis de sus sesiones de clase, incluyendo estrategias metodológicas y de organización.
