ABSTRACT - Acts as Performance in the Occupation of the Urban Space: against a model of city for mega-events - This research focuses on the acts that took the streets of Rio de Janeiro between June ...2013 and July 2014. By perceiving the plurality of the activated forms of expression and the centrality of direct action in the practice of the protesters, I address these acts with reference to the notion of performance, considering especially the bodies which have occupied the urban space with their choreopolitics, theatres of invasion, polyphonic choirs, multiple writings, and the creation of Temporary Autonomous Zones always ready to re (in)ssurect. RÉSUMÉ - Actes comme Performance dans l'Occupation des Rues: contre un modèle de ville pour les grands évenements - Cette recherches, effectue de juin 2013 à juillet 2014, témoignant des actes qui ont eu lieux dans les rues de Rio de Janeiro, d'un point de vue à la fois esthétique et politique, perçus non seulement comme critiques àun modèle de ville destinée à de grands évenements, mais comme propositions pour un mode autre d'habiter la ville. Based on data from the vitas of sixty-one major representatives of the Ottoman cultural milieu, who spent some or most of their professional careers in fifteenth-century Edirne, the following article ...aims to construct drafts of scholar profiles, common for the entire Devlet-i 'Aliyye-i 'Osmaniyye (Sublime Ottoman State). The two primary sources, 'Isam ad-Din Taskopruzade's biographical anthology Seka'iku'n-Nu'maniyye fi 'Ulema'i'd-Devleti'l-'Osmaniyye and its supplemented Ottoman translation, Mecdi Celebi's Hada'iku's-Seka'ik, contain hundreds of biographies organized in chronological layers in accordance with the reigns of the Ottoman sultans. For this study only the five layers corresponding to the sultanates of Bayezid I, Mehmed I, Murad II, Mehmed II, and Bayezid II have been "excavated." In order to reflect the scholars' mentalities and, occasionally, establish parallels with the lifestyles of their counterparts, this study analyzes the epoch of the scholars together with their life stories, developing a commentary on the ordinariness and extraordinariness of different scholar types.
The exploration of efficient broadband near-infrared (NIR) emitting materials is essential to establishing new NIR applications. In this work, an excellent NIR phosphor Mg7Ga2GeO12:Cr3+, with an ...emission band of 650–1350 nm and a full width at half maximum of 266 nm, was successfully prepared. When Ga3+ ions were replaced by In3+ ions, its emission intensity increased 4 times, and the internal and external quantum efficiency reached 86 and 37%, respectively. A NIR phosphor-converted light-emitting diode (pc-LED) component was made by combining a synthetic Mg7Ga1.84In0.07GeO12:0.09Cr3+ phosphor with a 450 nm blue luminescent chip. The vascular and skeletal distribution on human fingers and the back of the hand can be seen under the display of a commercial NIR camera, indicating that Mg7Ga1.84In0.07GeO12:0.09Cr3+ phosphors have promising applications in the field of the blood vessel and bone visualization.

Approximately 25% (35.6 million) of US workers are employed in occupations (such as technology, administrative, financial, and engineering) that could be done from home; the remaining 75% work in occupations (including health care, manufacturing, retail, and food services) that are challenging to do from home.
Most US workers are employed in occupations that cannot be done at home, putting 108.4 million workers at increased risk for adverse health outcomes related to working during a pandemic. These workers tend to be lower paid. The stress experienced by lower-income groups, coupled with job insecurity, could result in a large burden of mental health disorders in the United States in addition to increased cases of COVID-19 from workplace transmission.
Previous research has shown that those employed in certain occupations, such as doctors and farmers, have an elevated risk of suicide, yet little research has sought to synthesise these findings ...across working-age populations.
To summarise published research in this area through systematic review and meta-analysis.
Random effects meta-analyses were used to calculate a pooled risk of suicide across occupational skill-level groups.
Thirty-four studies were included in the meta-analysis. Elementary professions (e.g. labourers and cleaners) were at elevated risk compared with the working-age population (rate ratio (RR) = 1.84, 95% CI 1.46-2.33), followed by machine operators and deck crew (RR = 1.78, 95% CI 1.22-2.60) and agricultural workers (RR = 1.64, 95% CI 1.19-2.28). Results suggested a stepwise gradient in risk, with the lowest skilled occupations being at greater risk of suicide than the highest skill-level group.
This is the first comprehensive meta-analytical review of suicide and occupation. There is a need for future studies to investigate explanations for the observed skill-level differences, particularly in people employed in lower skill-level groups.
